Hissing with derision at the other Wraik's obvious confusion, Venetia snarled, "You're nothing more than a clueless child, aren't you? You don't even know what you ARE." Something had stayed her claws earlier; clearly, it was the fact that this was no warrior she faced, but a child. There was no honor in killing such a foe. Else, she'd have torn his throat out before he even knew she was there.
The commotion behind her had captured her attention, with only a flick of her eyes back towards the other two she'd left, she noted that they'd gotten in over their heads without her. Figures. And there were more on the way even if they cleared these Winiko out. Time to retreat and regroup. "I don't have time to play with a child," Venetia spat, pulling back from Raik and into the shadows, her tendrils last to vanish from sight.
A few moments later, she had rejoined the other group, just out of sight.
Abeytu snarled and thrashed her head, only releasing her hold when the purple Winiko collapsed beneath her. She withdrew her teeth and claws from the other's back to leap free, avoiding the risk of being trapped beneath her while she dealt with the pest clinging to her face. She'd closed her eyes and as soon as she hit the ground, she'd rolled, trying to smash the little bug into the dirt.Taking in the situation at a glance, Venetia hissed to herself. Their kin was out cold, it seemed, and Abeytu was otherwise engaged. That left the large dark one standing there with his stick. That moment of hesitation was all she needed. If he wasn't going to attack, she was. Charging him like a bolt from the darkness, she aimed to hit and run, providing just enough distraction for the others to get away.
"Retreat and regroup," she snarled in Abeytu and Dylara's direction, if the other could even hear her at the moment.

CatCat gave a SQUEAL of rage, and begins to claw harder, trying to get through the eyelids to the eyes beneath. How dare this brute try to squash her! Not a chance was she letting go, this one hurt her sister! She began to bite and tear with her teeth at the skin under her.
If it weren't for the fact that this was a serious fight, some might consider her snarls and growls that came out of her as she worked rather funny, as they were a bit high and squeaky. As it was, they just were background noise to the uneven battle between the large wraik and the angry, but tiny, Winiko. Baron's head jerked around to face the black, shadowy Wraik attacking him. He wasn't able to prevent her from smashing into him, but he WAS able to grab a wing, and grip, hard, with his claws. His hat fell off during the collision, but he didn't notice. Not then. "Who ya t'ink ya are, gangin' up on us'n?" He snapped out. "Tain't gone let ya'll just hurt folk n' flee. Tain't right, d'at!"

Thala groaned as the Wraik on her backside finally lets go, and she tries to crawl further away from the fray and the Wraik; she was too disoriented to even think of teleporting right now. She glanced over to see her sister all over the Wraik who'd attacked her from behind and called out to her. "Catcat... be careful.. please..." She was glad to notice an Elder helping out, one she'd not seen before, but once a third Wraik suddenly appeared, she couldn't help but think this was not going to end well. Well, until it hissed about retreat. She stayed down and hoped they would do just that. She never saw the purple and red Wraik start to stir from her spot on the ground.... Dylara twitched, and groaned, as voices assaulted her throbbing head. She was vaguely aware of another presence, and made herself calmly crack one eye open to assess the situation before moving. As things came into focus, she blinked. Abeytu's companion was back, and taking the battle straight to an elder. She spotted the cane, and knew he must be the one who cold-cocked her. Blasted elders...she HATED elders. They'd been the bane of her freaking existence on more than one occasion, and it pissed her off. Scanning more, she noticed the purple Winiko had gotten free of Abeytu, who was still dealing with that tiny green annoyance. She never heard Venetia's hiss of regrouping and retreating, but after a moment's assessment, decided that the shadowy Wraik's attack strategies on the Elder seemed to be a distracting tactic more than anything, so she decided to help Abeytu out first, as the miniature Winiko was still latched onto her face. She finally moved to get to her feet, and leapt in to take a swipe at the little green menace.

Venetia was a 'strike and vanish' type of fighter...definitely not a brawler. Helping these two idiot kin of hers was going to get her seriously hurt, she could just see it. After attempting to shoulder check the Elder, and that going badly enough, her attempt to flee was cut short as his claws closed around one of her wings.
She snarled at the sharp pain shooting up the spine of her wing, then whirled back on the Elder with fangs bared. "Isn't that just like your type...? Suppose it's fine if you're doing it though." Her paw lashed out swiftly...normally speed like that was devoted to a killing blow, but this was a feint. She just needed him to let go long enough for her to get free.
Eyes closed, Abeytu had no idea that Dylara had come to and come to her aid. She had, however, heard Venetia's order to break off and regroup somewhere else, and she agreed with the plan...if she could just get free of this green, clingy pest first. At least now that her victim was down, she had her claws and teeth free again to aid her. Hissing, her jaws opened, preparing to clamp down on any part of the little green Wini that got close enough, and her paw raised to swat her free.

CatCat saw Dylara coming at her... hyst barely in time to bounce back and let go of Abeytu. If Dylara's attack hit, it'd be Abeytu who took it. Darting down, CatCat charged to move UNDER Dylara, with the intent to try to disembowel the bi... Purple wraik. These beasts had attacked her sister, she'd make 'em hurt! She had heard her sister's admonition, though... And if it got worse, she'd be encouraging the others to beat a retreat. Baron grinned a little at her remark. "Like what, now? Fightin' back fo' dah defense of the attacked? Sure is." At her feint, he attempted to rear back, using his other paw to bring up that cane. He found himself wishing he had the room to begin spinning it, but in close like they were, and he'd be as likely to get himself as her. Instead, he attempted to use it to block her attack.

Thalassa had been watching catcat and didn't see Dylara come in suddenly, but was glad her sister was able to dodge out of the way. She winced as Catcat suddenly went UNDER the Wraik, and hoped the reckless move wouldn't get her hurt. "Just go away!" she finally screams at all the Wraik nearby. Dylara's swipe was aimed carefully and thankfully so; while she missed Catcat, she also missed Abeytu's face, and then as the little green thing fled UNDER her, she twisted her body in time to avoid being cut open. "Go," she hisses at Abeytu, now that she was finally free, and attempts to swat at the mini. "Get out of the way, you miniature freak, or I'll go back after your helpless sister again," she growls.

Raik snarled at his opponent. "I am not a child! I just don't understand why you're being mean for no reason! And I don't know what you're talking about!!" He managed to land a few decent blows-- not very damaging, but at least there was a little blood. A little.
Suddenly his opponent vanished. Raik fell on his face, but popped up quickly, looking around, snarling. He then remembered Thalassa. Aw crap. Raik spun around, looking wildly. He had to make sure she was okay!
He saw her not that far away and ran to her side. "You okay?!" he asked, standing defensively over her and taking in the situation. There were more of the weird Winis-- Wraiks?-- and a few normal Winis. There was a green-grey Wraik with a tiny green fairy-like Wini on her face and a purple Wraik trying to dislodge the green Wini. The black-inky Wraik he'd been fighting had one wing in the paw of an elder Wini with a hat.
Baffled as to who were the bad guys, who were the good guys and who needed pouncing, Raik spent a split second pondering what to do. He came to an unexpected conclusion.
Raik dove at the restrained, inky Wraik. He latched onto her her ruff with a freakish tenacity. Like.... some kind of terrier clamping down on a rat or something. "Tell meh wert yuh wer t'lkink boot!" he demanded between his clamped teeth. ((Translation: "Tell me what you were talking about")) Raik had decided he was not letting go of this Wraik until he had some answers.[[OOC: Feel free to drag Raik along with you if you still want to retreat; he'll just flop along like an attached leech or something xd ]] Impetua nodded as Leilani found a trail. It was marked by broken sticks and Imp wouldn't have noticed it. "Great work, Leilani. They probably did go down that way."
She started down the path. It went a little ways, only a few eggs now marking the way, with lots of space between them (the Easter Meiko must have been about to run out).
Imp noticed a blue Wraik ahead of them. She laid her ears back. Great. He was going to be trouble. She just knew it. With a snort, she quickly composed herself, un-flattened her ears and approached politely. "Greetings," she said carefully. "Have you seen another group of Wraik go through here? They may have had a white Meiko with them. We are hoping to find them. We're in a bit of a hurry as well."

Venetia's strike hit the cane, but rather than pull back, she attempted to push the weapon to the ground. At least it might keep him from getting any ideas of braining her with it as he'd apparently done to Dylara. His claws still digging into her wing painfully, she questioned whether his balance might be off with both front paws in use like that. She just needed to throw him off enough to make him let go of her.
"Hmmph, tell that to your ignorant pet back there," she hissed back. "Technically, he jumped me first. Maybe someone should educate him on just exactly what he is..." With that, she threw her weight into her shoulder, trying to shove the Elder off balance as she threw caution to the wind and tried to wrest her wing from his grasp.
Finally free of the parasite, Abeytu opened her eyes to the scene before her. Her face stung from the myriad of bites and scratches, and blood dripped from the wounds, but she wasn't about to let that take her out of the fight.
No, common sense and sanity would do that. Survival instinct was nice too.
Aiming a half-hearted kick at the fleeing green bug, she sneered at the downed purple Wini's shout. "What do you think we're trying to do, you twit?" Dylara had the right idea. Time to go. Taking a few bounds away from the main fight, she turned back towards her shadowy companion and the dark Elder. "Vee! Come on!" Persistent brat, she'd give him that. Now it was Venetia who had two-on-one to deal with. Snarling, she aimed a kick at the traitor who attempted to latch onto her. Furious, yet with a sadistic smile creeping onto her face, she snapped, "Don't you get it yet? You're one of us, boy. You're fighting for the wrong side." If not a very good one, as far as she was concerned.

Cat snarled back at Dylara, as the swat somewhat connects, due to the awkward angle. "Not a chance. You try it and I'll CLAW YOUR KNEECAPS off. I'll EAT YOUR EYEBALLS FOR BREAKFAST. You SCRAM you ugly bully!" She slashes at the back of one of Dylara's legs, trying, if possible, to hamstring her. Baron arched a brow a little. "I don' got no pets. Dat wraik boy done be his own self. If he attack you, maybe he a bit smarter then the rest on'ya, hey?" He wobbled, feeling her attempt to knock him over. He nearly went over, before he shoved back, using his own, large mass to try to take HER down instead.
"A'ter all, ya ken started all dis, far as I can tell. Shoutin' and bein' mean? He mighta done attacked, but dat boy one oh your kind. Fight ya own kind for ya own kind's actions." He paused, then added "And boy, you keep on fightin' 'em. Ain't nothin' wrong with bein' one o' the few who see sense."

Thalassa was watching Catcat intently, hoping she wasn't going to get hurt, when that weird not-wraik showed up again, showing concern for her situation. Maybe he really was different than the rest of the Wraik, even if he may not be the brightest crayon in the box some times. She was in fact, NOT okay, but she didn't have much time to answer before he was moving to pounce the dangerous shadowy wraik attacking the Elder. Her eyes shifted to her sister who was now dislodged from the one Wraik, and shadowboxing the other, worry showing in her eyes. She wished she could help, but her body was just not responding to her right now, and she flinched as the greyish green Wraik snapped at her in retort to her yelling. Dylara snorts at Cataya. "You could almost make a good Wraik with that mentality," she muses, while shifting a leg to try and kick her away. "I'll have to remember the eyeball phrase, especially...but perhaps the next time, when you don't have such a large escort with you, hmm?" She retorts, bounding over to where Abeytu is and looking back to make sure "Vee" can get away from her own scuffle before they vanish, not wanting to abandon her. She was still not entirely sure what was up with that strange brown Wraik who'd gone after Venetia, but she filed him away mentally as a traitor and an enemy if she ever came upon him again.

The air snaps with the same crackling that brought the Wraiks to the Easter Picnic. A dark mist mingles through the trees around you. More eggs strewn on the ground lead a path through the mist. These eggs though have a dark and evil feel to them. Shadowy figures dart about through the mist. The gleeful cackling has changed to worried muttering. Your efforts to find the band of bunny-napping Wraiks has brought you closer to their hiding spot. Will you find them before it's too late for Easter Meiko? Roll a 100-sided dice with each RP post. No rolling without a RP post. If you reply more than once, you can roll a dice with each RP post. This time, the lowest numbers will be winners.

Raik kept his jaws clamped. "K, 'm a Wraik. Why'z id madd'r?" He wasn't going anywhere until he had this figured out.
The inky Wraik aimed a kick at him, though due to the angle it wasn't very effective. Raik grunted but kept his jaws locked.
He grinned at the great big elder Wini with the hat. Raik didn't really understand what he was saying too well (being flailed around like a doll can do that to you), but the hat-Wini seemed to approve of Raik. He grinned around his mouthful of ruff. [[OOC: S'okay, Teigra. It happens to everybody. xd And don't worry-- I'll have Raik get shaken loose soon. Unless you want to take him with you when you retreat. Your call. mrgreen ]]

Venetia was taken aback by the boy's response. Did it mean nothing to him? "Then, you are a fool as well as a traitor for turning against your kin! I should have gutted you on sight!" This time, she aimed her vicious kick at the boy's unprotected belly, simultaneously ripping her wing free from the Elder's grasp. The limb was nearly shredded in the process, the pain almost enough to make her cry out...but not quite. She wouldn't give these beasts the satisfaction. She barely noticed a secondary sharp pain before she was jerked sideways.
Abeytu's teeth sank into Venetia's ruff of fur, grazing skin in order to get a decent hold on her before giving a powerful pull backwards as soon as her wing had been freed. The massive Elder Winiko nearly came crashing down on them both, and the naturally colored Wraik tossed her head before letting her jaws slack. "Go, Vee!" Venetia staggered a step or two before regaining her balance. "Going," she snapped back at the other Wraik. Before going though, she sent back a parting shot to the traitorous boy. "I will not make this mistake again. If I ever see you again, I will make sure you never trouble our kind again. You may not see me..." With a hiss, the glow-eyed shadow Wraik whirled and darted off into the undergrowth, the green-grey Wraik on her flank. Up ahead at some distance, she could sense a familiar sort of darkness. Other Wraik...true Wraik...the initial intruders perhaps...best to regroup with their own kind if possible...

It felt good to Leilani that she had finally found something, this helped her not to feel as useless as she had before. she looked at the path again "Yes there do seem to be some eggs along the path though I see less then before" was her answer back to Morty. She smiled as Impetua complimented her on finding the path, it was strange, even though she had only just met this group of wini's she did like them very much and it felt good to be treated like one of them.
She followed Impetua on to the path, and saw the black wini's reaction again before seeing the blue wraik on the path, unconsiously she immediately fell in to step next to Impetua, if this was going to turn out to be more trouble Leilani would be ready to back her up ....... she hoped.
Leilani almost laughed at Impetua's Polite greeting of the wraik, but she held it in. Suddenly she heared the sound again, same as it had been before the wraiks had destroyed the party, she looked in the direction it came from. a mist seems to appear again, and an egg rolls agains her paw. As the egg touches her she suddenly feels strange, the murmers and movements in the mist seem to blur together and Leilani's vision dims and grows darker. She quickly smacks the egg with force into the mist.
She calls out a warning to the other wini's behind her "Don't touch the eggs in the mist, something seems....... wrong with them" she shakes her head to get rid of the last of the weird sensations. Fawn had enthusiastically cuddled her mommy for a moment, which made her feel really happy, "Mommy stay for story?" she asked. And as she had moved towards the rough sounds nearby she was pulled back into what felt to her like a hug by Thane, this al made her giggle happily.
At his question she tried to explain the situation to moki again "Story wini's was right here, but then went gone there" she points at the woods where the group of wini's had disappeared into the trees "and now fighty sound is from there" she points again at the other part of the treeline "but see mommy and thane say we wait because big fighting like in good story, and then Good wini's will come back with candy floaty thing ...... is very nice"
She sat down and looked up at Dyani and Thane feeling proud that she had explained the situation so clearly and well to Moki, as she does so she sees Thanes nervousness and misinterprets it "No worry'ing Thane, You say Wini's is sure winning, and will bring back candy for you to" she smiles as she hugs him.
