"It's not far. A mile maybe. It's in the center of town. I make trips out to the kingdom often."

Nora walked silently for a few minutes over vast amounts of grassy hills. She looked over her shoulder over at Slade. "I know. She told me. All Ellie does is talk about her late husband when I am around. Maybe she does that with everyone." She looked in front of her, just starring into the distance. "Wonder if it's something she will ever get over." She wasn't offended, he was right, she wasn't the rightful queen of Zaibatsu, but was once a queen. She hadn't even been around during that time, so she had no opinions on the matter. "Her dear friend named Ten has yet to return from her trip, that's been distressing her much lately as well." She looked back at him again and gave him a small smile. "How did you come to learn of the people here?"

Slade walked peacefully on the grass with Nora for the short few minutes before they began speaking again. What Nora told him troubled him for one reason at first, but his anxiety quickly grew when Nora mentioned a particular name. He was troubled at first because in the history class, in order to keep the secret from Derek, he had told the students he killed Eight's wife and son. He doubted any of the students would look into it but if they did it would be a problem. Slade had started thinking of ways to silence Ellie about the truth without revealing who he really was. He couldn't have her talking about what had happened if it did not line up with his story. Derek could find out and then there would be problems. However when Nora said a very particular name Eleven stopped walking, a normal reaction to shock, but he quickly recovered and continued going. It felt wrong to lie to Nora as much as he was going to but he had an identity to uphold. "I had known about this place for a long time. After the war I was forced to give up my smithing trade and so I came here to be a teacher. I'm sorry but you said something about Ellie's dear friend Ten. What do you mean by "dear friend"? "

Nora looked over at the face of Slade. She could see troublesome in his thoughts. It didn't matter how hard he tried to hide it, she could see it.
"Well--I don't know anything about Ten, we've never met, I don't think. I guess--Ellie said after her husband died, she felt lonely, and gave into befriends those who were once against her. I guess her and Ten grew a friendship? I am not sure, you would have to ask her yourself, but she speaks highly of Ten. Who left a few weeks ago to meet with her husband but never returned." She could see them getting closer to civilization, the colorful buildings became more apparent and she could hear the crowds in the streets.

"They probably ran off together, happily ever after." Nora flung her arms in the air gracefully as she said this, to make it more apparent she was telling a joke.

"Oh, so you were a smith too hu? So where do you live?" She backed at him. The walk was peaceful and this was the first conversation she truly had with someone in all the years of her being here.

Slade looked to the floor when she told him that Ten had gone off to meet with her husband and had not yet returned. He knew what that meant. His father would not have come back so easily and given the last thing he heard about his father he doubted Ten was allowed to go with him. This meeting foreshadowed dark times in their family. Very dark times. Unfortunately these times would probably be looked over by everyone else. Slade felt obligated to warn Xenon but he could not leave now to do so. "I just might ask if I meet her again." Slade didn't realize his little slip by saying "again" but he quickly moved on. "I was more of an inventor. I made things to make the ordinary, extraordinary. Smithing was just part of that. As for where I live, well I am more of a nomad at the moment. I don't feel the world is safe enough to stay in one place. "
