I think they are quite a bit alike, although certainly there are differences. Similarities that I have noticed:
Both...
... are laidback, easy-going, and generally well-liked
... enjoy teasing their 'rougher' counterparts (Touya & Kurogane)
... sometimes seem to be subtly flirting through their teasing
... have a somewhat 'ethereal' and fragile appearance
... also seem somewhat fragile, at times
... have something to hide
... usually seem very cheerful, but also sometimes seem to be sad

I think they look similar physically. But also they are kinda ditzy in that knowing way. Like they act like they never realize what's going on around them, but yet, you know they know everything.
