James blushed a bit as well and looked away while scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "You know how boss is. Always keeping things like that to himself. He doesn't like to meddle in others' stuff..." He picked up a book from the table. He had brought some with him. "Alright, let's start solving this case. I think we've talked too much about the past anyways. Neither of us plan on going back so there's no point in talking about it."

Silvia felt a stab when he changed the subject back to the case. She was enjoying herself talking about their past. It was a good change for them to talk about nice things. Her smile had faded once he mentioned the case. "R-right," she said. While they had talked and everything had happened that day, she realized that this whole time they were apart, she really did want to get back with him. Though now, she could tell he didn't want that to happen anymore. She rubbed her eyes a bit as well as fake a good yawn to pretend like she was tired so she could go to her room. "I-I-I'm kind of tired right now. Let's continue the case tomorrow morning."

"Oh... okay. Are you feeling okay? You usually last awake longer than I do." he told her holding her hand to see if she was okay and then placed his other hand on her forehead. He had always been the protective type and would always try this best to take care of her. "Are you hungry? Should I make us some tea and soup?" he suggested.

Silvia shook her head. "No, I-I'm fine. Really, I am. I'm just tired right now. I got up too early this morning. You can stay here tonight if you'd like," she said, getting out of his grasp and getting up. She had to hold herself from tearing up, now remembering one of the reasons they broke up. She left to her room and closed herself in, not wanting to see him at the moment. She let out a sigh and hoped he didn't follow her to her room and started worrying about her again. It just made her heart ache again. She just wanted to be alone for the night from him.

James didn't know what or how, but he did know that he had messed up. He knew she wasn't really sleepy nor tired and she was only leaving because of him. He sighed and rubbed the back of his head. What did I do this time? he thought. He remained in the living room for a moment before heading to her room. He didn't even bother on knocking and instead went inside. "Tell me how I messed up this time? Or what did I do to make you like this?"

Silvia was taken back when he entered her room, even without knocking and she was getting angry. "Do you really want to know, James?" she said, her voice serious this time and calling him by his first name this time. "You are too obsessed with your job! During the whole time we were dating, I waited and waited and waited and you never proposed! You cared more for your job than about your own life! You even seemed to stop loving me and you treated me more like we were just roommates or friends! That's the reason why I'm like this! I wasn't your girlfriend no more other than a tool for the cases!" She couldn't hold in her tears anymore. "I wanted to have a family with you, but you never seemed to want that..." She couldn't stop crying, not even while being in front of him.

James was prepared for some truth, but not for a truth bomb. However, her crude words made him realize how right she was. All this time he had been focusing too much on his work and never giving much to anything else. He looked at the floor and clenched his fists. "You deserve better than me then. Why would you want a pathetic fool like me who didn't realize that the woman he loves so much is suffering?!" he said. In his voice it was easy to tell he was sad and hurt too.

Silvia wiped some her tears, trying to clear her vision. "Because I couldn't bring myself to let go of you," she said, close to a whisper, saying the deepest truth and turning away to not look at him straight. She couldn't stop telling the truth in the state she was. Heck, she could even confess all the bad things she did when she was little in the state she was. She covered her mouth and her other arm holding her stomach trying to support herself from collapsing from how weak she was from crying.

"We are only hurting each other. It doesn't make sense..." James clenched his fist unsure what to do now. Did she want him to leave right now? Or should he stay? He didn't know. He didn't want to hurt her anymore. "This may be too late but... I've always loved you. Even after we broke up, I still couldn't bring myself to date other women because I kept thinking of you." Now he felt foolish.

Silvia gasped softly when he said he still loved her. 'He still loved me...even after we broke up?' she thought. She wiped away some tears and stood up straight and faced him with a straight face even if she still looked sad. "Then prove it," she said, trying not to make her voice crack. "Prove you still loved me even after we broke up."

"I..." he looked down and then back at her. Many thoughts coming to his head at the time. Don't coward up now, Nicholson. It's the time to make amends with the woman you love. If you mess up, it's over. he thought. He clenched his fists again to encourage himself and then, in a second, his hands were on Silvia's shoulders, and he was kissing her deeply on the lips. A real passionate and deep kiss. The love and desire he had for her could be felt. He had no bad intentions or anything. He just wanted her to know how much he loved her.

Silvia gasped again when his lips were locked onto hers, giving her a passionate kiss. She closed her eyes and let him kiss her, not wanting anything else. She placed her hands on his chest and held onto his shirt tightly. She felt herself go weak just by feeling his lips once more after 5 years and being so close to him like before. It just made her feel how much she loved him when she first fell in love with him.

James kept kissing her for a while until they were both running out of breathe and they were basically forced to stop. He kept her in his reach and placed both his hands on her waist, having her close to her. He looked deeply into her eyes. "Is that enough for 'ya?" he asked her breathing a bit heavily from how long they had kissed.

Silvia wanted to stay kissing him, but was sad when they were forced to separate to catch their breath. She opened her eyes and just looked into his eyes, breathing heavily. She bit her lip and nodded, laying her head against his chest and tugged on his shirt a bit. "I never wanted to be away from you," she said softly.
