Alexa nodded. "Yep I'm a battler. Training to one day become a gym leader. I specialize in fire pokemon. I hope to one day have an entire team of fire pokemon. So far I have two fire types and one that's not. Hm.... a Swablu is a flying/normal type I think." Vincent yipped happily and gave a small hop to show how excited he was. He had a play buddy for later! He howled his joy to the sky but to anyone else they would probably take it as him challenging the storm to fully break on them all.2/3

The thunder and lighting were more frequent now, with less time between the flash of lightning and the boom of thunder. That meant the storm was coming closer, and they might not have much time to find shelter. At this point they'd be stuck with whatever they could find. Preferably higher ground, to avoid flash floods, but not too high, so that they wouldn't be in danger from lightning strikes.
A bright flash followed by the loudest peal of thunder yet made Anise jump, but fortunately Gypsy didn't so much as twitch. The Zebstrika kept a steady pace throughout every flash and boom. Anise supposed that was an advantage of having an electric-type mount.

Rydia didn't bother to hide her intrigue. "A gym leader? That sounds very exciting! How do you become a gym leader? What's the other pokemon you have? Is it very hard? Battling, I mean?" The girl rattled off a series of questions before forcing herself to stop. "I'm sorry; rambling...."Malorne sighed at Vincent's antics. What have I agreed to...?

A few fat drops make their way past the trees….then suddenly the heavens seem to open up, and sheets of icy rain pour down. A flash of lightning is followed worryingly closely by the deep boom of thunder. Suddenly, one of the pokemon spots a faint trail leading upwards! With all this rain, the group follows the path, narrow as it is. While it won’t protect them from lightning, getting out of the low point of the pass will keep the group away from flash floods!

Malorne looked up as the first drop of rain splashed on his head. Soon, he and Rydia were drenched by the downpour.

And then the rain was upon them, instantly drenching everyone in the caravan. Anise hunched down along Gypsy's neck, but that did nothing to help. She did notice when the group turned and headed up along what she presumed to be a path. It was rather hard to tell, but since she had no better ideas, she wasn't about to tell Gypsy where to go now.

Alexa nodded and noted that they were now heading up a trail of some sorts. "Hm.. well so far the only way I know of becoming a gym leader is to try out. There was a small tournament to find the Motterrossa gym leader. I tried out but I didn't make it." She replied, "As for my other pokemon I have a Vulpix and a Swablu. And battling can be hard but you get to meet new people and pokemon so it can be fun too."

Rydia nodded her understanding as the rain poured all around. "It does sound a little fun, but I don't think I'd be very good at it. It's nice to have a dream, though."

Alexa looked up as more rain poured down. Her legs weren't soaked but that was probably because they were so close to Vincent's body. "It is fun and yeah it is nice to have a dream. Especially one you picked out and not one that everyone else tried to force on you." She replied, "I hope we find shelter soon."

 Feeling bad for the now soaked fire-type, Joey recalled Lily Rose. Joey really didn't like the pouring rain, or the thunder, and hunched miserably on Starlily's back as the Rampardos picked his way along the path. 6s Rolled: 0/3

Gypsy had stumbled on the trail, and Anise tried to get her pokemon to slow down so she could look at it. The last thing they needed was for her pokemon to hurt herself. But the Zebsrtika stubbornly shook her head and kept going. Well, Anise supposed, she didn't seem to be limping, so it probably wasn't a concern. She made a mental nose to check her pokemon's hooves later, though.

"No it certainly doesn't do much for us right now." Alexa replied. She spotted a boy on a Rampardos and shook her head. She felt bad for him since his pokemon wasn't able to heat it's body up like Vincent could.

Rydia's hair clung stubbornly to the nape of her neck as she tried to see through the rain, but to no avail. Her hat kept the worst of the rain from her eyes, but it was still too rainy to see very far ahead. Malorne, however, was able to see the faint outline of what looked like a cave, and he pressed forward. 1/3
