Ootori_K "And I never said you did either," Kyouya pointed out. One slim black eyebrow raised at the stifled laughter, and he took another bite of his noodles, studying her nonchalantly. "I see I'm amusing you again." Though this time, in comparison to the moment at the steampunk ball, there was no half-relaxation in that sharp gaze; it was cool and distant. "So prickly..." The words coming in short bursts as she finally let free her giggles, which simply would not be denied, " si... épineux, comme...comme un petit hérisson!" "Ah... f-forgive me, bonhomme it is just... the image was... was so unexpected." Trying valiantly to get her humor under control, knowing it just couldn't possibly be received well.

"Ah... f-forgive me, bonhomme it is just... the image was... was so unexpected." Trying valiantly to get her humor under control, knowing it just couldn't possibly be received well. It was probably to Kyouya's benefit that his French was not fluent; the operative word in that statement eluded him. There were at times things that he was better off not knowing. He took a sip of his tea, and returned to his meal, fully expecting this particular giggle fit would go on for some time.

Ootori_K It was probably to Kyouya's benefit that his French was not fluent; the operative word in that statement eluded him. There were at times things that he was better off not knowing. He took a sip of his tea, and returned to his meal, fully expecting this particular giggle fit would go on for some time. "Oh... oh Je suis vraiment désolé... I am so sorry, Kyouya." Catching her breath only a short moment later, her innate need to behave politely driving her to suppress her humor. "That was... was very poor form, for me to react so." She pressed her fingers to her cheeks, shaking her head lightly to dispel the last of the image. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly before looking up at him, the flatness of his expression chasing away the last remnants of her amusement. "So we are clear, I do not think myself special. I imagine you research the backgrounds of anyone who walks through those doors." Shiny paused a moment, before sighing and adding, "And though I know it isn't your style typically to be direct, if you are uncertain about anything regarding me or my family I welcome you to ask. I will try to answer as fully as I am able."

"I think the only question I have at the moment is how you avoided dying of boredom for fourteen years," he said, with careful, quiet amusement. Shiny blinked at him, but rather than looking surprised, she just chuckled, "Ah, somehow it only makes sense that you should know about that. Would it be asking the magician to reveal his tricks if I questioned how you found out?" She rather respected his ability to know about things, and actually found it rather amusing that he hadn't felt a need to take any action yet. Likely, he had some other kind of counter-plan in mind.

The next trimester is coming up very shortly, and if he wants to be convincing, he'd better be there for the first day of class."

I haven't seen her either," he said, having mulled her statement over. "I wonder.... But perhaps she's just busy with schoolwork." He glanced up at the ceiling, as if it might contain answers. "Ah well, if he can't handle it on his own, I suppose there's no reason for me to pay it much attention." He was helping her get rid of leftovers, the fact she cooked was moot. "He won't find out from me that you know. And I promise to look surprised when it's inevitably revealed." Offering a small smile as well, and hoping it wasn't too soon for a little jab of humor.
