And then by some sort of miracle she made some perfect batter, though she was pretty sure that glitter had come from the pumpkin tree class.
It's ok, the prof didn't need to know.

Efflo should have known that the easiest way to cool off an angry dragon was through his stomach. His face lit up, however, as Gabby tried it and seemed to enjoy it. Efflo didn’t know much about cooking but he loved food a whole lot, and he loved Gabby, so to make something that pleased his boilfriend made him proud. The fact that his was better was just icing on the cake.

Curious though, he dipped his finger into his batter, snagging a taste for himself, surprised when it wasn’t totally awful. It actually was good. Victory was sweet, and delicious.

Olivia looked at him. His face flushed a bit and he hid back into his puffy jacket.

"It's not really sparkling... but it's pretty close." he answered quietly mumbling.

Melody approached the beautiful sparkly structure. She stood just outside, admiring it a bit and squinting at anyone who tried to bite such a beautiful thing. They deserved what they got! She shook her head at the fools before entering. She was immediately greeted with a bowl full of ingredients.... and a spoon she was tempted to have quietly... disappear. Which is hard with bells attached.

She then began mixing but mistook the weight of the bowl and contents - which seemed to grow wings. She darted after it and brought it back to her station in one piece.

Now that Melody had her bowl back and some idea of how much it weighed (sorry, screacher) she returned to mixing it with a lot more care now. The results seemed to ~sparkle~ just how she likes it.

"This building," Clara thought, "is definitely made out of gingerbread." But it was way too sparkly. How could someone even think of putting something so shiny in his or her mouth?

Upon entering the building, Clara noticed the vast amount of purple ... before realizing it was moving and was, in fact, a fairy. She cringed at all the sparkles, from the fairy's clothes to her wand to her wings ... it was just too much for Clara. She sat down at one of the counters and listened to the teacher's sugary voice, feeling a headache approaching. She could vaguely hear words such as "foul" and "disgusting", but she must have imagined it because there was no way someone like her could possible utter such things, right?

Her head cleared a little when she smelled the spices of the brown powder in the bowl that appeared before her. She mixed the powder-liquid substance in her bowl, only to find it ... sparkling? Clara came close to throwing up from the sight of it, but luckily she just stared at the counter, avoiding the teacher and the bowl and everything else.

The Second Day

When you return the next day, there is a small stack of gingerbread shapes on your counter. Evidently the Professor baked everyone's batter and produced the pieces for you. Maybe she didn't trust anyone else with the actual baking...

"Attention!" the Professor says, rapping her wand on the podium in another shower of sparkles. "Now, my disgusting dears, you must assemble your structures! The pieces have been prepared for you, as has some excellent frosting!" The wand swishes through the air and a moment later fat tubes of white frosting appear on the counters. "But the assembly of gingerbread is not a simple matter!"

With another swish, what looks like a blackboard made of gingerbread appears; the Professor picks up a tube of icing from her podium and begins to ice the instructions onto the gingerboard. "You must consider structural integrity! The weight of the gingerbread! The weight of the icing! The compound interaction of stresses and gravity!" She smacks the gingerboard with her wand. The cookie cracks under the force of her strike.

"Fortunately for your tiny brains I have worked out a precise formula for gingerbread perfection! So if you can only achieve this perfect ratio, your structure will stand!" Another smack. The gingerboard wobbles threateningly, but the Professor seems not to notice. "Now - assemble your homes! At the end of this course, you will be judged on your work - perfection is required!"

Part 2: Structural Integrity

Today, you must build your house! You have been given tubes of frosting with which to stick your house together. At this point, you are not using candy or other decorations - that comes later! Today's work is putting your house together and making sure it stays in one piece.

Now, you have to get the frosting just so or else the house will collapse. Too little frosting and the pieces won't stick together at all! Too much frosting and the frosting will be too heavy and collapse the structure.

So how do you get everything just right? The perfect ratio is 3 - 4 - 2. (Ratio of what to what, you say? HUSH THIS IS CHRISTMAS MAGIC. Hush.) You must achieve this ratio through careful experimentation and dice rolls.

Roll 4d6 until you have rolled a 3, a 4, and a 2 in a single post. Why 4d6? Because I'm giving you one extra chance to get it right. The numbers do not have to be in exact order but they do all have to be on the same post.

That said, if you roll 10 times and don't get the numbers, you can auto-pass. Just make a note in your last post that you've rolled 10 times without getting the 3, 4, 2 and are taking the auto-pass option.

Include the following code in your final post:

Mixing Score: [from day one, link your mixing result post here please]
Building Score: [how many rolls did it take you to get 3, 4, 2? If you used auto-pass put 10+]

YOU HAVE UNTIL THURSDAY 12/12 AT 8PM PST TO COMPLETE THIS ROUND. Didn't do the first round? That's fine, you can still join in but you CANNOT go back and do the first day over. Just start from Day Two!

If you wish to address the Professor directly, please quote me (Sosiqui); I do have a full time IRL job so depending on when you ping me I may or may not be able to respond immediately. I will however respond as soon as I can.

After being shooed out previously when 'class was done' for the time he'd been instructed to return again. Well that was fine and all, it meant more time to spend outside instead of in a stuffy kitchen. But when he had returned the next day he found that the actual baking part, the bit he needed practice with, was already done.

...well this wasn't helping after all.

Regardless, he listened to instructions, ears twitching a bit as it looked ike the teacher had muttered something that he couldn't catch. Instructions were important, but... well if he had trouble he could check back later. For now it was time to try and put a house together. So selecting some pieces he gave it a shot. And it looked like he'd nearly gotten the amounts right on his fight try.

Almost... maybe. No.

After a few seconds putting the pieces together the thing trembled a bit and fell in on itself. Nope. Not. Quite. There. "Harder than it looks..." Well... everything took a bit of practice.

And so, with a bit of fresh frosting he went at it again. Piece... by piece by piece. And once again it LOOKED solid. It really did. But alas... it crumbled once more. The demon was not an architect apparently.

Why couldn't he just freeze it together? That would make things much easier. "Why are we even building a house with these things?" Weren't they meant to be eaten? ...it seemed as if he wasn't getting a spookie out of this either.

Nope. Even as he pieced it together again, once more doing his best to try and get the amounts JUST right. It fell apart after a few seconds.

...stupid thing.

Maybe a bit less frosting this time..? That might have helped. Or so he thought. Instead it seemed to just crumble again. At least the cookies hadn't completely snapped in half?

Ok, more frosting agai-

...his face fell a bit as once more that thing crmbled. "Seriously... I should just freeze it." This was a winter season, it should have been an acceptable solution.

That gingerbread house was one that no one should have talked about. They would never speak of what happened there again.

...this was not how you succeeded at a class.
