Oh yes, they do maintenance every night to upgrade and stuff. You play an Adventurer and basically you try to accomplish your Quests. I love to play it but I absolutely am horrible at describing it. Jiggy's prolly the one to ask about it. Maybe you could send her a PM. The maintenance on the site should be done by midnight (at the latest).

KoL is normally under maintenance around 9:15 pm - 9:30 pm ish CST, and the down time usually lasts between 15-30 minutes.
I have a good time there...I made my 3rd ascension...but I don't play as much as I used to. There are some good peeps in the /normal channel...and some horrid ones. Kinda like everywhere, I guess.
