He had been doing so well until the eternal foot-in-mouth syndrome had struck yet again. Ian resisted the urge to slap a hand over his face in dry embarrassment, but he did at least run a hand through his hair, trying to calm down and just breathe.
Shiloh's breath tickled against his neck. Ian let out a small groan of exasperation, rolling partially over to do the exact same thing that Shiloh was doing to him, his face against Shiloh's shoulder, arms wrapped around him.
"Okay, maybe I did," he mumbled, voice muffled, but amusement could be heard through the embarrassed tone of voice. "On a minuscule level. The rest of the levels are to make sure that you're comfortable, you goofball."
He exhaled a breath. "What am I going to do with you, hmm? Silly little duck."

Shiloh laughed softly against Ian's neck, resting his face there as Ian wrapped around him. He settled happily into the warmth, nestling into both Ian and the blankets. "Just a miniscule level?" Shiloh teased. "My ego is crushed." But Ian's words comforted him, it was a lot less expectation for him to worry about, at least for the time being. Considering that he wasn't even sure he could wrap his head around the particular way the evening had gone, he was glad to just forget about it for the time being, and enjoy the moment. Ian's face was pressed against his shoulder, and his breath was warm over Shiloh's bare skin. "'Mm," he said, voice soft, snuggling into him. "Dunno."

Ian gave out a snort that was muffled by his face against Shiloh's warm skin, which still felt a little feverish. Ian himself was still slightly overheated, but this sort of heat was good, rather than bad, and he was feeling much too cozy to move now. "Your ego doesn't need any crushing," he said with amusement. "You're pretty nice just by yourself, you big goofball."
Shiloh fit rather nicely in his arms, as though he were just the right size. Not to mention the snuggling closer made Ian stupidly pleased, and he happily returned the gesture, curling himself against him like a purring cat. "We'll figure it out later," he mumbled, exhaling a slow, tired breath. "Right now, I think, sounds a good time for a nap."
He pressed a light kiss to Shiloh's bare shoulder, smiling.
"What say you, Duckfoot?"

"You're a goofball," he countered, his smile evident in his voice. Because of his fever, the air against his skin, which in actuality not all that cold, was chilly to Shiloh, and he was glad to have Ian curled around him, grateful for the warmth he provided. Ian's lips pressed against his skin, and the warmth Shiloh was feeling intensified, the flush of his cheeks glowing a little brighter. He nodded his head quickly, a nap was a good idea. Napping was nice, and safe, and easy. "Yeah," he answered. He hated to move, but Shiloh shifted slightly anyway, sitting up just enough to reach down for the blankets they'd kicked off, pulling them up around himself and Ian. He didn't clue in to the fact that because Ian was radiating heat, the Mist hunter might not want to pile on more warm things, and settled back down beside him without notice, tucking the blankets around them. "A nap sounds great, Chi... Ian." He pouted a bit, he really did have to come up with a better nickname.

He made a disgruntled, whining sort of sound as Shiloh moved away, the warmth escaping him. One of Ian's arms lifted, moving around to try and drag him back down without actually opening his eyes to look and see where he was. His hand found Shiloh's arm, and he tugged, feeling a shift as the blanket came up around his midsection. But then the warmth was back, and Ian, still with his eyes closed, automatically curled his arm around Shiloh again, pulling him close. Sleepily, he nuzzled his nose against his face and pressed a slightly off-kilter kiss to his cheek.
"Sweet dreams, Shy," he mumbled, already half asleep.

Ian's arm had drawn him back in, but the encouragement was unnecessary, Shiloh was already tucked back beside him of his own accord, though he made no move to shake Ian's grip. Ian's arm drifted back over him, wrapping around him and pulling him closer and Shiloh smiled, his face cheery even if his brain was entirely a mess at the moment. It was incredibly nice to feel wanted, especially by someone he wanted in return, and he settled into the embrace, into the gentle kiss on his cheek that made the butterflies in his stomach stir again. A sleepy stirring, but a stirring nonetheless. "You too," Shiloh whispered, watching as Ian slowly drifted off. He was definitely soon to follow, but he could help but peek at Ian one last time, gently touching the edge of his face with his fingers before his hand slipped away with a yawn, and he snuggled in for sleep.
