Milo had begun to rack his brain trying to figure out a good tokusatsu reference that related to weird stars in the sky (and blinding lights, that was a little more typical); maybe one from Kamen Rider Fourze or Goseiger? Dairanger? Gokaiger? But no one would have been able to hear it, which was good because he never quite placed one before he suddenly found himself swallowed by that blue light and was just.... gone. Didn't really know what hit him really, not even a chance to utter a word. (A shame) Just gone.
His first attempt at a grand socializing scheme of things, to get to know his fellow comrades and make some friends finally, a party on the beach and he had gotten eaten. Koume was going to be so pissed.

Nevada gulped the glass of wine down and by the time she finished two more hunters were taken. Not at all pleased that Ian and Abbi were down there, and especially because of Finn, the mist intermediate headed down there to retrieve her preciouses. "Shy, Ian, Abbi. I think it'd be better if you planned a rescue away from the glowing blue ocean." She reached over to tug Ian and Abbi away from the water. "I'm sure Finn will spit up any moment." If the gods were good than he really wouldn't be. "And I think it'd be better if we prepared our weapons." As such, the girls summoned hers and kept a loose finger over the trigger. "What .. what just happened?" Noah edged back up away from the water, glancing around frantically. Two conflicting urges were doing battle in his brain. One said, run the hell away, that would be smart; the other said but I'm supposed to be fighting evil! I can't run away now!
The fact remained that he had no idea what was going on or how to fight whatever it was. He stayed where he was, halfway up the beach, but he compromised by dropping a glowstick and summoning Lazarus. In case anything actually came at him.

The conversation was punctuated by a loud clicking noise once again. There was however, no tell-tale blue, other than the neon leaking from the ocean itself.
Whatever it was, it did not contain reason, it was simply a creature. It would simply continue to hunt ruthlessly and relentlessly as long as it remained the predator of this simple food chain.

Al summoned Nuru mid flight though he had absolutely no intentions of fighting so directly. "Should we call for backup?!" He shouted at no one and yet everyone at the same time. He was sure he was clear of the water without going off too far as to be alone.

"Do we have backup with long range weapons? Actually do we have anyone with a long ranged weapon?" That thing sounded both close and far away, and with the water dong the hissing thing there was no way he was going to even attempt an attack. Especially since Wilhelm was a sword half his height at best. Ripley released his hold on Abbi's hand, but only to summon Wilhelm. He held it in front of him defensively, glancing over his shoulder here and there to make sure Abbi was, in fact, still there.
"What if we set up a decoy? Like, put the glowsticks off to the side, and if it tries to snatch it, we attack?" Ripley had no idea what he was doing. His battle knowledge was entirely based off of various TV shows and Historical dramas he had watched while half asleep.

A vague semblance of something - a face perhaps or a wide, gaping mouth - loomed over the beach party group once again. The air turned a lot colder as the fire dwindled, all the going out.
THUNK.
The creature - the colossal creature, a black shape that had been blotting out the visible stars themselves, traceable only by the barest sheen, the backglow of blue against its spines, began to move, slowly and hungrily.
THUNK.
The sand, the water, everything shook as it took a step, thick clawed footprints appearing in on the surface.
THUNK.
There was a terrible hissing noise, and then what sounded like metal pressing against metal: something was trailing behind it, the source of that sound. Something not visible other than a trail of blue betraying some of its movement.
THUNK.
It paused.
And then shrieked terribly.
The calm had ended and tossed them right into the eye of the storm.OOC ???? HP: 99,999/ 99,999 exclaim AT THIS POINT THE CREATURE IS NOW CHASING YOU. ANY THAT FALL BEHIND WILL BE SWALLOWED exclaim - It will continue chasing you with heavy footsteps even as you make your way to flee it. You can feel the ground visibly shaking behind you. It moves quickly, and a single misstep will be your demise. - Please note there is no actual way to defeat the ???. If all the Insanity that had been contained on the island came and manifested itself as one big creature, you'd be hard pressed to defeat it too. gaia_crown [ ESCAPING ] You need to escape the creature. Once again, defeating it is not an option. You can try, but you will instantly be swallowed, as the last thing you see is a wide, gaping mouth. Roll 1d6. This is the number of steps you take. Do this 3 times. You must do this in separate posts. You will need to make 10 steps before you literally, outrun your allies and make your escape. If you do not make the 10 steps, the creature towers over you, a glowing mouth opens, and snaps you up whole. IF YOU ARE/HAVE BEEN DRINKING: You end up rolling 1d4 instead of 1d6, because well, you are drinking.

Shiloh had summoned Haruka, and she hung coiled from his hand. But as the immense beast loomed from the water, it was clear to both Shiloh and his weapon that the hunters on the beach were little more than creature kibble. They had no hope of defeating it, not like this.
He quickly grabbed onto Ian and Ripley, pushing them ahead of him.
"Off. Beach. Now! RUN!"

Ian had been too slow on the uptake to summon his weapon. Instead he let out a variety of swear words and oaths, none of which were appropriate, and nearly broke his ankle attempting to turn around.
He felt Shiloh's hand on his arm, yanking him and Ripley forward, and he stopped, veering sideways and looping back around. "Nuh uh," he said sharply. "You're coming with us, come on!"

Well, there was no need for the ranged weapon-using backup, or so Ripley thought as the creature loomed ahead, so large he had to tilt his head back to see it. It wasn't until Shiloh started yelling that he snapped out of his shocked awe.
"...Yeah okay." Not needing to be told twice, Ripley turned as he was shoved, stumbling a few paces. He started to take off the way he came, attempting to leave the party behind, though he managed to grab Abbi's hand again along the way.

For a really long time all Abbi could think on was the lack of hand holding going on when it had increased tenfold from what she was used to. But giant monsters coming onto the beach did have the ability to be very good distraction.
A wistful feeling rose in the girl as she tried to tell herself that this was her new life. Being scared of this thing was silly, even if it was the first honest to goodness monster she'd ever seen in her life. Everything else now seemed like harmless little rabbits.
"Beach party, out. Ok good to know." She said out loud in a dead pan voice before she was once more grabbed up and tugged toward safety.
Able to take some comfort in the return of hand holding, even if there was a glove there, Abbi did her best to keep up with Ripley's pace and found she was not as fast on the sand as she wanted to be. Boo hiss.

"Of course I'm coming, you idiot!" he yelled at Ian, disbelieving that the man had turned around. He'd thank him later, for thinking of him, but right now everyone needed to get moving and he was determined to see them to safety.

"You're not coming fast enough," Ian bellowed. He reached back for Shiloh's arm, but the other was hardly making a fast enough pace. Ian looked to the side, catching sight of Ripley and the orange haired girl, and then he started running again, except backwards, trying to make sure that Shiloh was actually moving.

Ripley looked over his shoulder, to make sure Abbi was there, along with Ian and the pink-haired one whose name he regrettably never learned.
"Come on! Now is not the time to play Hero!" He called out to Shiloh, the one whose name he still hadn't learned. It was about then he realized that he was a little too far ahead and he paused there, at least trying to get the others to move their asses.

There was a moment to register the scale of the enemy. Leon was not game on taking it on. "Maybe just a full tactical retreat is necessary." he said suggestively while the others were already high tailing it out of the area.
"Holy crap , move it!" he screamed as it let out a roar of warning of attack , he had no clue except that he did not want to find out.
