Fox J. McCloud
(Excuse me if I don't tell you my opinion of the TARDIS scenes)
((And just what are your opinions of the TARDIS scenes?
evil Anyway you're welcome to the Tenth Doctor... though be warned he maybe snatched up and used if he becomes important and you don't post. Gotta keep the story going.))
"How did he get goons here so fast?" asked Sarah-Jane, staring after their attackers.
"Easy when you have a working TARDIS," replied Grandpa, massaging a bruised arm, "You jump to where we are, see where we're heading, jump back and spend some time gaining the trust of some thugs and by the time their ready we arrive on the scene... ready to be mugged."
"Or not!" David grinned and threw the cricket ball up into the air and over his head, catching it neatly behind him.
"Come on. I don't fancy hanging around here for a second attack..."
"One moment..." said the Professor, turning to their beggar friend, who still had the bat slung over his shoulder, "We haven't been formally introduced to our friend-in-waiting..."
The man flashed them a grin, wiping sweat and dirt from his forehead as he spoke.
"No-one important," Ace noticed that his American accent had dropped away, "Just a simple passer-by whose curiousity overcame him. But don't let me keep you... I suspect you're wanting to get back to your TARDIS."
There was a nervous silence.
"How did you..." James began.
"I have one of my own," said the man, grin widening, "I'm a Timelord too. And I was sent to look for you."
The Professor sighed.
"We're under arrest then?"
"If you like. I prefer to think of it this way; you can come with me to my TARDIS and go back to Gallifrey and get a fair hearing. Or you can stay here and get mugged again."
"Wait a minute..." said David, smiling, "You saw that whole fight, didn't you? You saw that rogue Timelord, Trayte. You can testify for us!"
"I saw a rather demented scientist who'd obviously been meddling in time, yes. But I don't know if he's a Timelord..."
"Oh come on! Surely you
felt his presence!"
"With all your incarnations around me? Hardly. It was enough trouble just keeping a hold on my baseball bat..."
Grandpa cut in.
"Take us back to Gallifrey..." he sounded tired and a little defeated, "It's been a while since I've seen my old home... And this is the worst place in the universe for getting a decent cup of tea..."
The Timelord nodded.
"Step this way..."
