However, while Celebi did appreciate the hug, that particular theory somehow made it look even greener than it already was as it shook its head frantically, obviously trying not to puke at the idea.
"And judging from that particular reaction, that guess is wrong, and it was a sibling or some other relation," Forrest noted, getting a sad nod from Celebi once the little guy had calmed down.

Celebi shook its head. "Ah, that'd be a 'he' then?" Celebi nodded. "Right. Anyway, what happened?"
Celebi's answer was to shrug, a sad look on its face.

Celebi shook its head sadly, looking depressed again.
"Yep," Forrest confirmed, finishing the puzzle; it promptly started glowing softly. "Also, if someone had caught a mysterious new Celebi lookalike, I think it would've made the news." The doors slowly started opening now that the puzzle was complete.

"They wouldn't be able to anyway; when a Trainer catches an undiscovered Pokémon, they have to register it with the Pokémon League before they can legally use it in an official Pokémon League battle. If this Celebi lookalike were caught, it would be in at least some Pokémon databases," Forrest reasoned.

"Well, personally, I would suggest you hand it over. I don't want to have to hurt you."
Forrest immediately whirled around to see a blonde young man in the Team Shadow uniform with a pair of goggles. "And you would be...?
"Call me Anubis," the young man introduced himself calmly. "Now, are you going to hand it over, or am I going to have to make you hand it over?"

"I see... good thing I had this on me, then." Anubis held up his hand, revealing a strange metal gauntlet, and pressed a button on it. "Capture Inhibitor, activate."
Almost immediately the two Rangers' Stylers shortcircuited, even as Sorren suddenly felt itself stiffen up, collapsing to the ground as the Braviary became unable to move. Forrest caught the Flying-type before it hit the ground, then glanced over sharply at Anubis. "What did you do?!?"
Anubis turned his attention to Forrest calmly. "The technical details are rather complicated, but the gist of it is really quite simple. As long as the Capture Inhibitor is online and you are in its range, your Pokémon cannot fight or flee, you cannot call for help, and you cannot guide your Capture Styler. Oh, you can try and fire your Styler, but it will just ricochet all over the place."
Forrest smirked. "Then that means you can't use Pokémon either."
"Incorrect; I said your Pokémon cannot fight or flee. My Pokémon is directly linked to the Inhibitor... and as such, is exempt from its effects." Anubis leveled a stare at the duo calmly. "Now, are you going to give up the Stone, or will I have to let Titan out to play?"

(Hunting game... what game is that? I need context here.)

However, Anubis proved that he wasn't just a member of Team Shadow for his looks, easily whirling and blocking the kick with one arm. "I see... a pity. I guess I'll just have to take it off your dead body then. Titan, assist!" He tossed out an Ultra Ball, revealing a massive Tyranitar that roared at Mika, obviously intending to attack. He then glanced at Forrest... who for some reason, was looking ridiculously amused. "You seem awfully amused for a fellow who's just as helpless as your friend here."
Forrest's answer was to lazily raise his hand so his Styler was pointing at the Tyranitar. "Treant... Rock Prison formation."
"TREVENANT!" Anubis stared in shock as the glowing green Styler shot out, circling the Tyranitar rapidly. With every cycle around the massive reptile, a wall of rock began forming around it, growing thicker and higher by the second until the Pokémon was encased in a thick wall of stone, built so that any futile attempt to break out would just cause the stones to fall inward and bury the Rock-type. "And now you're just as helpless as we are," Forrest informed Anubis cheekily as the Styler returned to him, motioning to the trapped Tyranitar; fortunately, the "prison" had the top left open, so the Pokémon could breathe. "Ain't technology just great?"

(Doesn't ring a bell... sweatdrop )

Anubis glanced between the two, calculating his odds even as the Tyranitar raged futilely against its stone prison. "...True, I'll admit that that little trick caught me off guard... but I think you'll find me far from helpless." With that, he suddenly launched himself at Forrest, throwing a punch that the Ranger blocked... only for said blonde Ranger to get launched backwards anyway from the force of the attack, ending up embedded in the wall.
