S'aak - Liana's Stall
4 1/2 marks

Lovely, things were for sale! S'aak inclined his head when Liana spoke, but when she asked if he wanted anything in particular, he laughed. "Oh, Faranth - decisions are hard!" Another crooked grin for the young woman, and then S'aak tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Well...probably not something sweet, for now," he began. "The pasties look good...but so do those dumplings." He hummed quietly in the back of his throat, then shrugged. "What would you recommend?"

Anali - T'arn's Stall
5 marks

"Rider will do fine, or just Anali, if you prefer." The correction was given with utmost courtesy and an amiable smile. Without dwelling further on it, she carefully picked up the smaller point to examine it when invited. As she did so, she listened to his explanations. Fascinating. More importantly, useful...

She put down the arrowhead she'd been examining and picked up one of the barbed ones. Vicious, but again, useful - much moreso than throwing a knife and hoping. "Fascinating," she murmurred. "I think I've a long way to go before I'll be making use of them, but there's no harm in being prepared. I fear I haven't been, of late, and I'd like to remedy that before it becomes something to regret. How much for a dozen of each?"

Liana - Liana's stall
4 1/4 marks

"Yes, decisions are hard, aren't they. So many choices, so little time," Liana said as he considered. She listened to his musing, then at his question she offered, "Well, if you're in the mood for meat, the pasties are the way to go. If you want something different, try the dumplings. I don't see anything like that too often. Or, since they're both pretty small and going for 2 for 1/8 mark, I can give you one of each for 1/8 instead, so you can try them out. Smaller items like that are perfect for sampling," she suggested with a smile.

S'aak - Liana's Stall
4 3/8 marks

"...I think sampling sounds perfect," S'aak grinned, digging an eighth-mark piece out of his pocket and handing it over to Liana. "That's very kind of you, to suggest that. How has business been so far?" Be kind to the people giving you food - one of the cardinal rules of life, as far as S'aak was concerned.

Liana - Liana's stall
4 1/4 marks
Earned: 1/8 mark

As Liana accepted the wooden coin, she responded, "You're quite welcome. I actually just set up not long ago, so you're my first customer of the day." She tucked the money in her cash box, then pulled out a square of paper to wrap the little treats in, the better to keep crumbs and gravy off her customers. "Now, which of each would you like? The pasties come with either bovine, ovine, or wherry meat, and the dumplings are either plain tuber and cheese or with wherry meat added," she asked, pointing out one of each variety as she named them.

Vakus

Vakus gave D'ei an amiable enough smile but shook his head slightly. "Sorry, no can do, making those is extremely time consuming."

Kesin meanwhile earned another smile and a respectful bow of the crafter's head. "My thanks handler, I can see you any time in the next sevenday at your convenience for a fitting." He was going to have fun with this one! A bit of creative freedom was always welcome.

"You're welcome!" this was to Serdek. "I wouldn't say the straps are necessary if you're not expecting to need to be carried whilst on your wher. They're good security for ground riding but if you're not planning to take on any air-drop missions I wouldn't say you really need them.

"Humm, yes I think I can do that for you," Vakus went on to Ellanfer, rubbing his chin and nodding. "It'll be a plain design but I can do you a serviceable saddle with the straps for that price."

"Rilli," Vakus quickly noted the name down in a small book one of his flitts brought to him. "Of course, that suits me fine! I'll see you and Risk then, enjoy the rest of the evening!"

Snake Splat

The stall keeper noticed Valeska enough to call; "Oooh, better luck next time! Won't you have another go?"

Lucky Dip

"Black one for you it is miss," the stall keeper smiled to Canoake, passing over the pot it sat in with a warm smile. "Take good care of it for me now, won't you?" His gold had produced many clutches in her long life but he still liked to believe they all went to loving homes.

In a few days the egg would twitch a little but fail to hatch alone. Should Canoake crack it open she would discover a pretty little crimson!

"And for you miss!" the old man handed over the blue egg to Celandine. "Take care now, enjoy the rest of your evening!"

[Remaining lucky dip egg: a small dark brown one with white stripes. The contents of Celandine's egg will be revealed once she sells it!]

Peya

"Mmmmh," Peya said with Sasar with a little smirk. As he turned to leave she stuck two fingers in her mouth and whistled. "I hate to see you go Sasar, but I love to watch you walk away!"

Luckily enough there was soon a new victim to occupy her attention.... Customer, a new customer. Peya turned her dark gaze onto Mokah and gave her a slow look up and down. "Welcome," she purred, "you're free to handle the goods so long as you don't break them. Those daggers are a mark apiece, they come in different weights so test out what feels good to you."

Ralla was next up, and afforded no less attention than the last... perhaps a little more, given her rank. "Well hello there Warden, a pleasure to have you at my stall," she smiled in a manner that was far from all business. "The fancier looking ones, sugar, are made by my own hands while the plainer ones were produced by trusted journeymen. The simple ones have excellent balance and tempering, but my masterworked daggers are as divine to handle as they are to look at. Why not pick one up and test for yourself?"

"The brass knuckles? They sure can," Peya smirked. "They're a half mark each, but if you buy one for each fist I charge three quarters of a mark for the pair."

Killian

"Not at all," smiled Killian, with no other immediate customers there was no reason not to be sociable! When the handler made to leave however there was equally no reason to stop her; Killian gave a small nod and a last parting smile. "You two enjoy yourselves! Send your friends my way if you liked the wine."

A'nos - G'nar's stall

It had been far too long since he had been to a gather. Oh the wherholds had their advantages, plenty of them for an opportunist like him, but sometimes his missed the antiquated luxury of a Weyr that was afforded to the privileged... and those who knew how to get cosy with the privileged.

Today A'nos was shopping for pleasure, his crimson firelizard riding up on his shoulder as quiet and obedient as ever. A small stall displaying a few feline pelts caught his eye and the dark-eyed harper sauntered over.

"Good evening," he smiled, "you're... Jareth's, aren't you?" A distinctive blue, easily enough recalled. He was pretty sure this man's name began with G' but he was less certain on that and not prepared to insult the big man by getting it wrong. "I'm A'nos," he offered his hand to shake, "Acriculeth is mine, pleased to meet you... now, could you tell me your prices on these pelts?"

D'ei - Varkus' stall
Marks: 1 7/8

"It is," she muttered back at Serdek. D'ei shot a faint smile to the abrupt wherhandler, unconcerned with her own brownrider knots. It never occurred to her that she might be disliked for the dragon rather than his color. the thought was rather comforting, really. Varkus turned down the offer and the brownrider huffed out an almost-laugh, reaching for the marks in her pocket. When she handed over the three, D'ei hesitated. "Black for them both. Is there - do you have anything I could put them into? It's a gift. A surprise for her. I'll pay extra if need be."

So much for haggling. Fail, D'ei, fail.

G'nar

G'nar eyed the bronzerider as he approached the stall, especially eyeing the obedient Crimson flit perched on the man's shoulder, "Aye, Jareth's mine" he said to the man "I'm G'nar if'n you don't remember" he added "Anything takin' yer fancy?" he asked the man socially enough, he wasn't especially gruff but he wasn't overly polite either. He didn't feel the need to suck up to the man because he was a Bronzerider, however if he was interested, TRULY interested in the pelts then G'nar would be more civil to him, besides he had a flit, he couldn't be all that bad. "The plain ones are 1 mark apiece, the spotters are 1 and a half mark apeice an' the fancy grey one is 5 marks, guaranteee you won't find another like it anytime soon" he said, he might not be good at selling really but he liked that grey pelt, he'd be honest about it.

"That'un took me an' Jareth a whole two sevendays trackin' it down after it started attackin' people"

Kesin - Vakus' Stall
2 1/2 marks

"Isn't she?" Kesin was immensely pleased by the compliment to her wher, as much so as she would have been by a compliment to herself. "One of Kellesk's own brood, my girl. And your boy? Where's he from?" While she usually took more interest in the bronzes than the browns, the brindled wher was such a fine beast that she was interested regardless.

Kesisk gave a soft whuffle, sharing in her handler's interest. She nosed him again, a little harder this time, with distinct feeling of curiosity. Was he strong? Was he fierce?

As her wher conducted her own investigation, Kesin addressed the leatherworker again. "Would you be available midday tomorrow?"

The sooner the better!

The Nozomi
D'ei - Vakus' stall

"Black it is, pick the size of boots you want. The whips are all more or less the same but feel free to choose anyway.... Wrapping." He might not have accepted her haggling but Vakus wasn't immune to the request... especially as it was from a lady to another lady. He couldn't help it, he knew it was wrong, but he just found ladies of the lady-liking persuasion adorable.

Scratching his ear the leatherworker stooped to rummage around under his stall - his firelizards keeping an eye out for opportunistic theives - and eventually straightened back up with a rather large piece of rough black cloth and some tough cord. "I had some of my goods wrapped up in it to come down," he explained, "nothing fancy but that's all I can do you for free."

Ralla - Peya's Stall
7 marks

Ralla pursed her lips as the smith explained the daggers - and if she noticed Peya's not entirely businesslike manner, she gave no indication of it. She did, however, pick up one each of the simple and fancy daggers to compare their weight and balance. The fancy one did, in fact, seem to be the better weapon, which caused her to frown. Setting them down, she asked, "You wouldn't happen to have any masterwork daggers that are less ornate, would you? I'm...not the sort for frills."

Kesin - Vakus' Stall

"Yes, I can do that," Vakus gave a little chuckle, "I should have slept off the hangover by then, my partner's always been jealous of my ability to get over them. I can meet you back out here if that suits, or down in the crafting halls, or I can come to your quarters - whatever suits."

A'nos - G'nar's stall

"Really? Goodness." A'nos' eyebrows raised, he sounded impressed by G'nar's description of the effort that had gone into the hunt. Internally he was trying to work out the real market value of the skins and wishing he had paid a bit more attention to the market, but how had he been to know he would stumble upon something like this? With relations down south thoroughly unfriendly the rare commodity was even rarer of course... humm.

"I am thinking of refurbishing my quarters," A'nos said after a few moments, "could you do me a deal if I bought more than one pelt from you... and do you mind if I touch them?"

"Aye, gotta remove the killers, this'un was a bonus for it's pelt" he said, eyeing the man. He cheered up a little when A'nos enquired about a deal "Depends on which ones yer lookin' at" he said not really wanting to budge on the grey pelt.

"Y'can touch 'em if your hands are clean" he added.
