IT had faded before he had gotten there. He slipped around another bend, catching sight of grey here and there as the others around him searched for their own glows, and somehow the thought was vaguely reassuring because it meant he was not alone.

This one didn't even wait for her to get close before floating away. Her repeated failures were, however, allowing her to notice that she wasn't alone in her hunt for the shiny objects.

Arsenic tried in vain to grab another orb as it popped up nearby, but it wasn't to be. She grimaced as it blipped out of her view, grumbling a bit. Well, she only needed one more. It'd be fine. Really.

As she watched another shard float away, Rika wondered if the other shapes milling about were having better luck.

Shasa found herself mimicking the other's movements, her head tilted curiously to the side as she moved closer to him. She could not see, really, but she could feel - and for a brief moment she froze before flattening as she gave a clumsy leap (if it could be called such).
"These things. Hard to find. I need them."
Her voice carried a lilt of petulance, though it was gone and she stood before Imuiel once more with that same gaping, almost charming smile.

Spotting a particularly low fragment, Rika pounced onto it. She smiled as she opened her hand to find the shard's soft glow emanating within.

"Oh, I suppose." He said to the voice. It didn't sound familiar, but nothing here was. Maybe she didn't know much about this place either.
Looking about, he looked at the stone, the rock, and then at the lights everyone seemed to be trying to catch. Rather slow, he made his own attempt, but it was pathetic and the light raced off across the surface off the water to vanish.
"Do you know what the lights are? Everyone seems to want them. Do they do something?"

Vassou felt the feelings of each being here. He looked around only to see that everything was broken. Everyone was broken, including himself. He wanted to get closer to becoming complete and join the goddesses among those pedestals.
Eyes blinking at the faint glow of a crystal fragment. Chasing after it, a voice could be heard when he touched it. Sovasu~ He heard, but this name wasn't his own. He shrugged it off as he put the crystal into his pocket. He was only four away this time.

As the plucked another shard from the air, an echo much quieter than the rest, almost a whisper, drifted into her mind.
Be strong.
Staring at her tiny collection of shard, she decided that she was done treasure hunting, at least for the moment. It seemed that collecting these shards simply wouldn't be enough to give her the answers she wanted.

Her own voice seemed to surprise her as she paused, bringing a hand up to her throat; for some reason, she never thought that she could speak, and so, she didn't try. She studied the stranger in front of her, and very naturally smiled, "Hi..."

"I dunno," Arsenic admitted, glancing around quietly. "They... They're needed. For something. I'm not sure what but I'm not going to be the only one without." She snorted derisively at that. If nothing else, she'd be one of the first (or few) to get them all.
To their left, another popped up. Arsenic was quick to snatch it up, grinning slightly as she took the orb. Her expression, as much as it could be seen in the gray shapelessness of her face, was sadder for the memory.
Seriously. It was a buzzkill.
Still, Arsenic was beaming at having gotten five of them. "I have to take these to Her. Try to catch some. They're... They're odd, they give you something. It's hard to explain. But I think everyone has to do this." She said, glancing to the Shrine in the distance.
"I have to go." She said with a finality to her tone. "But I'll be back." She looked back at the grey shadow in front of her. For reasons she wasn't quite sure of, she reached out to touch the shape. "Good luck." She offered in a light tone, before stepping away. Off to the shrine!

"I, yes. Yes...They hold something. I want that something." Her jump was met with a small bob of his head as she missed the shard--with a fluid motion, Imuiel snatched another, a small laugh bubbling forth when its warmth flowed into him.
"You will be Chosen--"
Chosen? Hm. That word had particular emphasis, though he didn't think too much of it. He could feel himself gaining substance, and it was almost as if he could be said to actually exist in his eyes. It was clear to him that the collection of these shards was the key, and he was going to gather as many as he would need. Just a few more would do it, he suspected. Hopefully.
