Another voice!? Tiek waited and sure enough, the impression of the thin, gray being became deeper. Holding his breath, Tiekash tried to assemble his thoughts.

"Wait, you don't know either?" Clearly crestfallen, he spoke wistfully, "I wish I knew... All I know is that these shards are important." One was clutched tightly in his "fist" (whatever that was).

SHARD -- 1

This one here...she wandered the ruins and studied the fixtures. What were they called? Buildings.

She was standing amongist buildings. Or what was left of buildings.

Huh? She wondered why she knew that. Her eyes fell to the ground, looking for something even though she didn't know what it was.

But it slipped past her and she went back to the buildings. Huh....How come she knew what it was? Funny.

Impah wanted to know more. What was a mermaid? What did they do? Singing? What was that?...


Oh but she couldn't linger on that thought! She had to find more of those fragments, more more and more of them! She wanted to know. She wanted to know all the things!

Fragment: 1

Naiad walked through the ruins around her. At first she seemed unaware that there were others that had reached this place as well. Looking around she saw something sparkle in the crack of one of the walls in the place. She tried to get the item she saw, but to no avail. Sighing she looked away and saw others, like herself walking around and trying to get their own fragments. She felt she had to get some of her own.

She searched and searched and searched until her hand closed around another fragment. It sank into her and another voice called out.

"Come on Sunshine and Bubbles..."

She didn't understand, who was sunshine...and who was bubbles? And what were they?

It didn't make sense. None at all.

And then the world seemed to grow darker, even as he was seeking another faint fragment to collect. He found his gaze falling around the zone as he looked for the cause. So soon he knew of the world, and so soon it was going? Never and answer, only-

There was the faint figure of the goddess, glowing so like he and all of those around him. That faint, warm yellow hue seeming all too comforting. He found himself slowly moving toward the figure only to feel a mixture of things. Even as he moved though, everything only grew darker, enclosing him in it all.

And yet it was a safe place, perhaps to be taken in by it was not so bad? In truth he could only feel a brief happiness that was soon stolen away. Taken by the darkness which had only moment before brought about such pure welcoming now left him feeling isolated from all. Was it so bad though? "I-" The thought of speech was cut short though. But cries, perhaps his own voice.

Was it so bad? No, it was terrifying. All he'd known, all he wanted to know seemed ripped away in an instant. Instead he found himself staring upon murky figures he couldn't clearly recall, gathered about a small form. One far tinier than himself. Ears? A tail? It wasn't his voice that was crying, but that one. That thing.

And yet it was certainly his own voice. He was that thing, wasn't he? But...

As soon as he'd come to accept that much, it seemed to slip away into a darker place. Once more in that darkness only to soon find the goddess' kind embrace seeming to let the doubt slip away. The memory itself following away with the feeling as she spoke. "So... it matters not." Perhaps the fact he couldn't clearly recall it any longer helped, but it wasn't important. She was right, he shouldn't question it... what was he questioning again?

No, forget it. Let it be gone. Instead, it would seem, in some way that pleased the divine being. As he found himself graced with the blessing of the woman. How kind. To erase such doubts and even bestow her good intentions in the process. They weren't so bad perhaps.

Tiek nodded slowly. "Yes, there was this... sense of... of..." Did he know the word. It felt similar tot he words, but the words were bad. And weird. This was strong and almost comforting. "I think the goddess told us to find the words."

As if saying her name had summoned her, she appeared. Quivering, he looked at his thin waif companion and whispered, "I am.. I am going to go and approach her... I-in a moment.."

There, lying on the ground, was a bright... something. Tiek stared before bending down and gingerly brushing, what he called fingers, against the shard.

BURRIED NECK DOWN

A voice burned through, down to his core. With a shudder, Tiek tried to push away the unpleasant feeling.

Bilious

She saw the goddess nearby and felt drawn to those lovely yellow eyes. Following the others nearby into the subway she came close to the goddess. She started to feel as if this was right the closer she got to the being that had blessed her. Then as Naiad got closer she found herself feeling better, more whole than before. She felt the goddess' wing tips brush over her and she felt as if there was nothing wrong and all was well. However, as she moved away she felt the feelings recede and much to her dismay she felt the questions welling up within herself once more. The Questions, concerns, and suspicions that had been in her mind until the goddess' wing tips brushed over her were worse than ever now that she had stepped back. Naiad could only wish she had stayed close a little longer.
