Not really knowing what else to do Lael follows Darian. She too does not notice the dagger as she tries to keep up with Darian.

Backing up from the dagger, she points to it and says, "Do the runes look familiar to you, cousin?"
Jay ruffles his feathers, a bit peturbed by the runes when he looks at him, and flitters to Darian's right shoulder. He chirps something and the elf lady shakes her head.
"It couldn't be similar, could it? What do you think, Jay? Darian?"

Lael gasps when she sees the knife. "I..." she says in a quiet voice. "I've seen those markings." She slowly backs away, fear written on every ince of her face, hands over her mouth.

"Darian?" Kitara asks cautiously, seeing her cousin freeze either from fear, dread or thoughtfullness, "Darian? Does it look familiar to you?"

"Those are the very same runes," Darian replies, shocked and horified. Why were those runes haunting him? Was he being punished for some unknown deed?

Lael shuts her eyes, still trembling. She didn't want to see those ruins. She backs up some more blindly until her back hits a tree which she leans against trembling so violentally that she can barely stand.

Jay chirps something, flitting to the ground at the elves' feet. He shuffles his feathers as he whistles something to the lady elf.
She nods before saying, "Jay says that there may be someone who knows what these mean."
Jay flies to her left hand, which she holds out as she stands up, and the elven lady says, "He says that there is a village nearby. The village of Eko, known for wise elves. Shall we go there?"

Lael mentally slaps herself. Get ahold of yourself. she thinks. If you want to avenge your family you've gotta stop acting like a baby! Just because those are the same runes that were... No. Don't think about that. She takes some deep breaths and stands up straight, still trembling slightly. "Y-Yes." She takes another deep breath. "Yes. I think we should. If... That is, if you two would be kind enough to allow me to come with you."

"Yes," Darian replies, "Perhaps that will explain why I have seen then so much. They were on the sword that wounded me, the wreckage formed the vague shape of them and now they're on this dagger."

"I'm wondering if this explains the random destruction of the villages..." she says before gathering her courage and stepping to the dagger. Picking it up, she says, keeping it away from the a bit, "It has to come with or else we're never going to know the answer to all of our questions. If you do not agree, Darian or Lael, stay behind. I'm taking it to Eko."
Jay flits to her quiver, pulling out a piece of rags before giving it to her. She takes the piece and wraps the dagger up before slipping it into her quiver.
"Now, who's coming with me?"

"I'm coming," Darian replies. He then turns to Lael, "Considering the fact that you're unarmed and don't seem well suited for combat I reccommend you stick with us."

Lael is touched. She smiles for the first time since the destruction of her village.
"Thank you. I... I won't freak out again. I was just shocked, I suppose," she says. And I won't. she mentally promises herself.

The elven woman stands up straight, Jay landing on her left shoulder, and nods to the other lady nearby, "No problem. We just wanted to make sure that you'd be okay."
She makes sure her stuff is all set, though her quiver is heavier due to the dagger, before she walks back to the path, "Let's go then. The sooner we get to Eko, the better."
((Ooc: No problem, Star. We try to wait for others who RP with us. It's only polite and respectful.
Arg! I shouldn't be on! *her hand goes to her forehead and she shakes her head* I had to stop to see what's going on and now I go again... Hopefully, I won't stop by until much later tonight, unless I check up {without logging on} on the threads and find something I must respond to....))
