Sonyo made her way to the edge of the forest, where, to her surprise someone was waiting. She was ready for the pitchforks and torches, but when she approached the male, he smiled lightly to her. Sonyo stopped in front of him, a confused look on her face. The male bowed to her, then spoke. "You're the woman who took care of the forest, thank you. No one else wanted to take the time to deal with it, and I was too sickly to do much on my own." Sonyo scratched her cheek, chuckling lightly. "Thank you for the flattery... " The man only smiled to her, then coughed before speaking again. "So what are you going in for this time?" Sonyo looked at the forest, scratching her cheek, the cogs in her mind spinning. "I'm planning on making a shrine in there, and possibly a home later... " With a chuckle, the man pointed to the shed at the edge of the forest. "All of my tools, and my father's tools, are in that shed. You are more than welcome to take whatever you wish." With wide eyed, the young Hyouton user bowed. "Thank you so much!" She rushed over to the shed, grabbing everything she would need, before returning to the man. She gave him 1,000 ryo for the use of his tools despite his protests, she couldn't just use his tools without that. She then made her way in to the forest.

Finding a good area wasn't an easy feat, the rainforest had become somewhat overgrown in her absence. She had thought for a moment that she had found the right area after about an hour of searching, however on closer inspection she found that it wasn't just right. When testing the soil to see if it would hold anything, she found it had very loose dirt and most of the nutrients from it had been soaked out by the surrounding flora. The light color of the dirt contested to it's low yield, there was most likely either a carbon or a nitrogen deficiency. Not to mention there were roots everywhere, the trees has spread out further in this area. In just her small soil sample, there were already tiny roots, which suggested that thicker and harder to remove roots not far below. With a sigh, Sonyo moved on with her search.

After what seemed like hours of searching, Sonyo found her ideal place. It was a decently sized clearing with a giant bowing tree that seemed to almost create an alcove around a small area. Sonyo felt something special here, like nature itself wwas calling out to her. sonyo took a soil sample and realized it was rich enough to hold life, as it was dark brown and moist. She could hear the sound of water, which meant there was likely a stream nearby that could be used as well. Sonyo dusted off her hands, then began surveying where she would want the small shrine itself. She decided that she it would look the best just inside the branches of the bowing tree, right against the trunk. With her plans thought out, sonyo got to work.

Sonyo first took an axe and began looking for a suitable tree to cut down. She was hoping to take down some of the smaller trees to lessen the impact it would have overall on the ecosystem. Once she found some smaller trees, she began her work. The first hack in to the tree stuck, and the young woman was surprised just how much force she had to put in to it to get the axe back out. With a grunt, and so much force that sonyo had to place her foot against the tree, she got the axe back out. Sonyo groaned, this wasn't going to be easy.

Once she got the first tree down however, the rest just fell in like clockwork. Sores began forming on sonyo's hands. She would have to bandage them up later in order to stop them from possibly getting infected. Sonyo found herself once again humming as she got to work, her voice jumping every time she struck the tree due to the force she was exerting. It took what seemed to be an hour to cut down all the trees she needed, but she found herself enjoying it. It was a good way to get rid of her frustrations.

Sonyo picked up the wood and moved it closer to the tree, and then began cutting it in to smaller pieces. She cut each tree separately in to chunks of wood. When she was done doing that, she then took the wood and began chopping it in to shapes she would need. She roughly cut out several pieces of wood from the three small trees she had cut down; several 3x3's, 2x4's, and some other small miscellaneous pieces of wood for the roof of the shrine.

Sonyo let down the few pieces of lumber and tools she had brought and stood over to the side of the area. She laid out a tarp to catch any of the wood shavings to come off the wood. Then she slowly proceeded to use a tool to shave down a 3x3 in to a circular pattern; it wouldn't be as smooth as it would have been would the pieces be shaped in a workshop, but she felt as if the hand carved look would fit it even better. There was something almost magical about hand carved pieces, and she could only hope that anyone who saw the shrine would agree as well.

Once she shaved down one of the 3x3's and made sure that the surface was smooth and free of cracks, sonyo began working on the others. The wood was hard, so she literally had to chisel the pieces away. She could feel it in her arms, the wear the repetitive motions was having on it. She wondered how much stronger her arms would get because of this; it could possibly help her when it came to the next time she had to fight.

Once the 3x3's were finished, sonyo moved to the 2x4's. She began to cut them down to size for the sides and frame of the shrine. It was busy work. Once she had them all cut down to size, Sonyo took some sand paper and began smoothing down the wood so that it wouldn't splinter. The shavings fell on to the tarp, and sonyo suddenly realized that she would have a lot of tinder to bring back once she was done. Sonyo grumbled, she had to go to the office after this but she would have preferred to go to the spa instead.

Sonyo then took the four 3x3's she had cut out and brought them over to the tree. Putting them in place, she began to hammer them in to the ground to hold the shrine up even if the soil began to erode. Even though the soil was soft when she had taken a sample, it surely wasn't when she was trying to penetrate it with something. Several hard hits had to be made with each 3x3 to firmly secure them in to the ground, and sonyo's arms were aching. Sonyo testing each of the 3x3's to make sure she couldn't move any of them before moving on.

Sonyo then took the 2x4's and some nails and began securing the frame to the anchoring wood. The first nail that she fit in didn't go in all the way, and Sonyo had to pry it out and try it again. It took care to drive in the nails without splitting the wood, something sonyo almost did several times. Once the frame was done, she added in the sides and then finally the roof, then took several of the small chips of wood and added them in in a decorative pattern to make the shrine more appealing. Sonyo sat back for a moment to look at her work.

Sonyo took out the varnish and a brush and began coating the wood so that it would neither rot nor warp over time. Eventually pieces of the shrine would need to be replaced and upkept, but the coat of varnish should greatly expand the life of the shrine above a few years if it was replaced. Getting the varnish in to every nook and cranny was hard, and in some spots Sonyo had to jam the brush in to coat it thoroughly. Eventually, she found that she was done. Sonyo stepped back to admire what she made. It surely wasn't high quality, but it wasn't horrible either. Now that the actual building was done, she had to move on to other things.

Sonyo took a small break before beginning the clerical tasks of the shrine. She began walking off to the river, grabbing a bucket of water. She then made her way back to her pile of supplies, grabbed her seeds, and began to plant them carefully around the shrine. These seeds were flowers that would do very well in the shady expanse of the alcove. These flowers were Forget-me-nots, Wild Violets, and Siberian Irises. These flowers not only complimented eachother in color- as they were either a blue or purple in varying shades -but would thrive in the rainforest.

The next part would be putting down some fertilizer. She grabbed a small bag of it from her pile and began to carefully sprinkle it over the soil where the flower seeds were. This would help the Siberian irises more than anything. Once she had the right amount of fertilizer spread out, sonyo checked to make sure that the seeds would have the proper room to grow, and added in extra fertilizer in to the places that were thinned a bit.

Once the fertilizer was in place, Sonyo made several hand seals and covered the top of the bucket in ice before manipulating that ice to make a watering can. The female giggled at her improvisation before carefully lifting up the watering can and beginning to carefully water the flowers. She had to be careful with how much she put this time, as she could either drown the seeds or wash away the fertilizer. After carefully monitoring how much water each plant got, she put the bucket down and allowed the ice to recede.

Sonyo moved back to her little supply pile and grabbed a small burlap sack before returning to the river near by. She began picking up any flat rocks that would make for a good path. These rocks would be pieced together almost like cobblestone in order to form a walkway, allowing for people to walk without endangering the surrounding plants. She carefully placed each rock side by side around the flowers she had planted, creating a barrier first between the seeds and the walking path.

Sonyo then began with the creation of the path itself. She took each of the rocks and carefully anchored them in to the surrounding soil using a mixture of grass and mud. This would harden to become almost concrete like and keep the stones in place. She carefully sorted through the rocks as she went, choosing stones that would fit side by side in order to create a path from the shrine out of the alcove. Once she was done with the main path, she then moved on to the boarder of the path.

The border took different, darker rocks that were straighter. This would help the path retain it's shape should the mud and grass mixture in between become liquid and lose traction. These rocks were placed deeper in to the ground, to remove them from needing the mud mixture. Less rocks were also needed in a whole for this task. Sonyo soon finished, and stopped by the bucket of water to wash of her hands once she was done.

Sonyo then began picking the weeds out from around the base of the tree, and any seedlings that the tree itself had dropped. Sonyo felt bad, taking these small seedlings away from any chance they had for life, but they would never thrive with the tree above them. The larger tree would surely not allow for any of the light to the seedlings below and they would eventually wither and die. It was still necessary however to make sure they didn't steal any nutrients from the flowers that were growing.

She then began looking for, and removing ( with gloves of course ), anything that might impede the tree itself. This was things such as any parasitic plants or mushrooms. Because of the mass of biological material growing in a pile, sonyo added it to the tarp where the wood shavings were. It was possible that it could be turned in to mulch or fertilizer later. Sonyo would give it to the man who gave her the right to use his tools as payment.

Once sonyo was sure that she had all of the weeds up, she moved back over to the tarp and grabbed each of the corners. She brought them together, centering the mass of plant material and some dirt in the middle so that she could tie it together. She carefully wrapped the tarp around itself, then tied it off so nothing inside could escape. She made sure that nothing was puncturing the plastic before putting it off to the side.

Sonyo looked over her work when she realized that the stumps from the two trees she had cut down were kind of an eyesore. Sonyo angrily twitched her hands, she hadn't thought of that before. The heat was getting to her and making her crabby, and she felt as if her clothes were beginning to cement against her skin. Grabbing the shovel she brought with the female stormed over to the stumps to remove them.

Sonyo carefully began prying up the smaller roots with the shovel, which was harder than one person could imagine. The roots had insane strength even when being to small, and sonyo even had to chop some of the up with the spade herself. She was suddenly glad she didn't cut down a larger tree with all the work she already had to do with such small stumps. Once she got the smaller roots up, she then began getting the bigger ones: this required more digging and prying.

Sonyo then took the stump when she had it uprooted and took the axe to it; the easier way to move such heavy pieces of wood was in smaller pieces instead of forcing herself to carry it all in one piece. Having chopped several pieces of wood already, sonyo found herself pretty much having the motion down pat. She knew where to strike, and where the least resistance would be depending on which way the grain was going. Once she was done she carried the pieces over to her supply pile to bring back as more payment to the man.

Sonyo then moved to the other stump and began working on prying that up as well. It was just as hard to deroot as the other one, and sonyo quickly found herself sweating even more. The female wiped at some sweat rolling down her face, only to mistakenly wipe some dirt on her cheek. In her work, she didn't even notice the mistake and would most likely walk around with it in till someone told her. Once the other stump was chopped up and placed with the wood from the previous stump, sonyo filled in the hole created with some dirt and continued on with her duties.

Sonyo then began sanctifying the place for worship by calmly walking around the area and beginning a chant. The chant itself was made up of mostly asking nature to bless the area and bring it prosperity for years to come; however it also contained prayers asking for forgiveness for damaging some of the nature in the process. Sonyo strongly believed that her disturbing the surrounding nature could have the opposite effect that she wanted; actually cursing the area instead of blessing it. That was honestly the last thing she needed, a shrine based on desecrated ground.

Sonyo remembered when her mother taught her this chant, about their religion. Sonyo's mother had been far more... aggressive... with it than she ever had; about the religion as a whole. She guessed that her mother would be almost an extremist while Sonyo herself was a pacifist. She once remembered her mother threatening to skewer one of the village children for chopping down a tree in Otogakure, even though it was on accident. The child had been training Fuuton, and accidently had split the tree straight down the middle with a large wave of razor sharp air. Sonyo had never seen her mother so mad over something so small, it had just been once tree, and the kid was sorry.

Sonyo herself felt drawn to her religion at a young age, felt drawn to nature and drawn to plants and animals and everything in the world. When she was young, her mother had taught her to take care of plants, to nurture and care for them. When sonyo was in the academy, she had learned that that was her job as a medical shinobi as well. Her job was to protect and heal and nurture anyone who fell under her care, and she was sure she'd care for many people during her life time.

She hoped that eventually she'd make up for her mistakes at the hospital by healing and caring for anyone she could. Though Nari, Theo, and Ayame had told her that it wasn't her fault, she couldn't help but feel a pit in her stomach. She wondered just how many people she injured before they could be evacuated from the hospital, and how many of those people had come from the battle only to get hurt further? Speaking of the battle, the circumstances behind such a large attack, and the girl, seemed so strange. From what she had heard from the hospital, the small child hadn't been in control of herself just like Sonyo hadn't; she hoped she was okay.

Now that the grounds were sancitfied, Sonyo could begin praying. She kneeled in front of the shrine, trying to search for the right words in her brain. She guessed she would start with Nari first, she was worried the most about him. "Dear mother earth, please look after Nariomi Kaguya. For a good and gentle man, he has already been through so much, and he's about to go through so much more. I believe that he can make it through, he's so strong mentally and emotionally and physically, but I can't help but to worry. So please, lend your guidance to him through his life and help him down the right path...."

"Please protect the village, Mother Nature. We are going through desperate times, many people have lost friends and family, many people have lost their lives. I don't know why such a senseless act of violence was perpetrated, but I can hope that we can perhaps prevent it from ever happening again. Please give the mourning their peace, and help those that have thoughts of seeking vengeance rest their minds. Vengeance and anger only leads to more sadness, more anger, and the cycle then continues. Please lead us down a path that prevents that kind of future, that prevents that sadness and agony."

Sonyo sighed deeply, closing her eyes tight, "And Mother Nature, please forgive me my horrible actions. Please forgive me for the lives I have negatively impacted, and the people I have injured. I should have had more control over my self, my powers, my abilities. To let someone so easily take control over me is excusable and I am sorry for the people that I have hurt, I am so horribly regretful... Sonyo then sat in silence and reflection, her eyes tired and sad. Was this the life of a shinobi, being constantly in fear of yourself and what you're capable of? She wasn't sure if she could live that way, forever afraid of hurting everyone and everything around her. What if one day she lost control of herself and harmed Nari? What if one day she opened her eyes to find blood on her hands, anyone's blood? She had to start making plans, going through prevantitive actions to stop herself from ever hurting the people she was supposed to protect.

Sonyo got up and dusted off herself before moving over to her supplies to gather them. she placed all of her smaller tools and her garbage in to the back itself before closing it up and moving it aside. She then took her larger tools and tied it to the outside; first it was the shovel, then the ax, then the broom. She then moved the tarp full of mulch over to the bag of supplies and tied up the wood to be able to help her carry it. Shen then carefully hauled the bag up on to her back, looked one last time at the shrine, then went on her way leaving marks on the trees as she walked with her kunai.

Sonyo however found herself horribly lost, party due to her exhaustion and partly due to just how far she searched in to the forest when she was looking for an area to create the shrine. Sonyo wasn't so much worried that she'd be stuck in the forest, she knew the basics of survival in the wild, but more or so that if she got stuck that the village might think she deserted, A grumpy Sonyo grumbled and tried to slowly make her way through the forest, tired from the physical labor and the heat of the rainforest. How did she manage to get herself so completely lost? The forest honestly wasn't even that big, it was fairly small.

Sonyo found herself turned around a total of seven times, and found herself backtracking about four. Every time she already saw a tree she marked, she felt like screaming. She was tired and dirty and just wanted to get back so that she could get home to Nari! Each step forced her legs to feel more and more like lead, and she was gross with sweat. Her hair was beginning to fall out of it's ponytail and Sonyo was so tired she didn't even notice. Sonyo let out a scream of pure joy when she saw the edge of the forest however. She paid the man with the mulch and the wood and then began moving back to the center of the village.

Personality: Natsumi is a pretty run-of-the-mill person with no real outstanding personality features from a glace. Often too shy to indulge others in a majority of her feelings and emotions, she comes off boring and mundane; much like an extra in a movie. Natsumi has some what of a satire humor once in her comfortable zone, often harmlessly picking on people who she becomes close with, though careful to never push it too far. Sarcasm is her main language, and even when nervous and shy she has the habit of letting sarcastic quips slip from her mouth on a regular basis. The female tries her best to be a good person, though like everyone else she has faults; without meaning to or even realizing it, Natsumi can be selfish just like any other normal human being. Some times she feels a crushing obligation to be good, and that can make her benevolent deeds seem forced on occasion, almost robotic. Though horribly shy and dis-positioned to be antisocial, Natsumi forces her introverted self to interact with the community and socialize; one can never be a great shinobi without learning to get over their weaknesses. She feels and overwelming need to be strong, so she holds in what she feels in till she can't anymore, and she tries to avoid crying or whining in public-- seeing it as annoying.

Born to an inter-bloodline family, the shoton that flows through her veins is pure. Her parents were idyllic and always supported their daughter through most of her childish adventures, but were stern when it came to things that could hurt her; and as such Natsumi has never encountered hardship. In her days in the academy, it was there that the young female learned that life was not how she knew it to be. The studying was hard, some of the people were rude and mean, and she wasn't as special and smart as she thought. Once bright and talkative the young girl became quiet and introverted; having learned that she had no clue about life. Struggling with what she used to think life was, Natsumi made her way through the academy and graduated with average grades.
