Ronan Aalto Yeah, it'd be helpful to know who was in classes together so for that I need only to know how many subjects I have to fill a schedule with, write down that many subjects and voila. Though at this point I still have very little idea who's in the same classes if they just say "goes to class" I'm prone to overthinking things, but more, I feel like the flip side is equally as limiting. Class projects for instance, ill behaved interactions and note passing in class (lol), whining about how much you dislike such and such a teacher/subject becomes difficult when you don't know who's in your elective with you because it's never been mentioned in the RP. So if there's 8 periods, do you only do one of each numbered core subject? Like, you do Mad science I then next term is ii? Yes Quote: Would you always start with class I if just starting a subject or what? yes Quote: What is the number, or in this case, numeral, related to? Do characters take ONE clawculus class or can they take say Physical deaducation I and II simultaniously? Basically, do you have to do I before you can do II and II before you can do III? Yes Quote: if they have to do 4 core subjects, that means at most 4 electives yes? Are there restrictions on how many "soft" subjects they can take or is it just whatever you want to do from a list? (I had one school that allowed me to do Drama AND art, another wouldn't allow two art subjects and forced me to drop Drama and take up Geography instead because they didn't like two "soft" subjects on my schedule) It's as you wish.

Awesome, ok one last thing. Can you do multiple "maths" or "english" subjects given they seem to be all divided into sub specialities? So like.. Clawculus (calculus) AND whatever the heck algebra would be in monster punnage? (which would be more similar to how the UK does A levels, which come after high school.)

If your character REALLY loves math, they could take Clawculus and Trigular Calculometry or whatever at the same time, sure.

Ok, good to know. I'll work up a vague schedule then. Time for crazy ol' me to agonise over electives haha. I warned you I was crazy right?
But Athena and I will find this very helpful so thankyou.

You guys are gonna hate me but...
It'd be helpful I feel (anyone agree? back me up!) to know which classes everyone's characters do, that way we know who our characters share classes with. It also means when "making it up as we go along" happens, we don't accidently create a clash of schedules. For instance, currently we know that Art and Drama clash first period, so if your character does both, now we have the complication of a second period somewhere in the day/week of Drama and art for those students. Extra confusion now results because suddenly it's not just "all the students who do art share a class because that's simpler" now we need to know exactly WHO your classmates are so you know who you'd recognise from class and who you'd share anecdotes/events and projects with.
We could kinda benefit from knowing who we share classes with and thus would "kinda recognise in a crowd" and have something to talk about. I mean, how many friends have you made purely because they happened to be in your class for some subject? Interaction doesn't just happen outside of classroom settings and commonality gives characters something to talk about "oh you're in my art class! You like art! We have a topic to talk about to break the ice yay!" You know?
I'm not good at explaining.
Still, I wouldn't mind a thread in the bios or an additional segment of the bios themselves that simply was "my character does these electives" so we knew who to contact about in class stuff/ideas/rp.
I just don't want to go making threads knowing you guys get a bit annoyed about spamming up the place with stuff, but i'd like an addition for classes please.
Maybe i'm the only one who likes to have a really solid idea of things in my head to rp, I dunno. I just don't really work so well with vagueness because I don't want to step on toes and get things wrong. I don't want to say "Goes to chop class" and then have someone all "no! That can't happen now because my character is in art and also does chop class later in the day!" For simplicity, it's easier to just assume if your character does say art, and someone else's character also does art, they're in the same class... right? But having no schedule means subjects clashing all over the place as people just guess and pick a random subject out of a hat and people reluctant to post because they don't want to cause a clash or get it "wrong"
Heck, i'll compile it if you don't want the extra work. Just everyone send me their electives and i'll try to slot things together so it works without too many subject clashes. (Obsessive? Why yes I am. My brain craves order.)

Ok so here's my crazy brain solution yay!
I'm going to keep notes! Yes! Notes! Rejoice.
I've added a vague list of subjects to Ronan's profile and every time a subject and a character doing said subject is mentioned, i'm going to add it to my word document and thus, my brain will be happy.
And don't worry, somewhere... I have a word document detailing about 10 different characters and who in an rp they had interacted with, how they knew them and what their opinion of them was. Because it was getting difficult to remember if character D had met someone's mage or not yet lol. Let alone whether character D wanted to beat their head in or romance them with doughnuts and serenades.
Yes i'm weird.
So that's what i'm gonna do. If anyone else is also crazy like me, feel free to hit me up for a copy of my list as I compile it because believe me.. I read EVERY post bwhahahah.

Ok, here's what I would like to know. Do we have a list of existent teachers and what they teach? I have zero idea who teaches what or if all the classes have a teacher, so I don't know who to make up a teacher for. Is there already a teacher for the Gory Gazette, for example, because I'll probably be interacting with that one a lot. There's a list here but Sue Nami and Verizhe have been sort of co-opted for the doomatories, so if we just had a list keeping these people straight and whoever we add, it'd be helpful.

If it's not on that list you linked, we don't know. Mr. Verizhe is one of the coaching staff/gym teacher and Ms. Sue Nami doesn't teach an actual class.
The new Ghoulfriends Forever book came out today and it's probably going to add more teachers and show what they teach, so I'll update as I read it.
For now, we know these for sure:
HH Bloodgood teaches Trigular Calculometry. She probably doesn't teach anything else. Mr. Rotter teaches Ancient Lit and Dead Languages. If you want a dull, droning teacher, use Mr. Rotter. Mr. Mummy teaches all of the other math classes (according to the original Fearbook) Ms. Kindergruber teaches Home Ick Mr. Hackington teaches all of the Mad Sciences Mr. Verizhe and Coach Igor teach Phys Dead classes Ms. Sylphia Flapper teaches Dragonomics (for now. She's a book-only character with some ulterior motives so I'd avoid mentioning her for the time being) Mr. Lou Zerr is a substitute creature who is a normie. There is a music teacher who is a skeleton but he hasn't been named Mr. D'eath (Grim Reaper) is the clinically depressed guidance counselor
We have no teacher assigned to the Gory Gazette.

Don't you think this is expecting too much from the RPers and the RP itself? This is just meant to be recreational, doing all that complicates things. I don't speak for everyone here but I have no intention of posting entire class schedules for all of my OCs. Truth be told, I don't really expect us to be RPing entire school days. The majority of my posts as Glen in school will be lunch period or his Mad Science class. The fun of being in a simple RP is the act of 'winging it'.

There'sa choir teacher who has a name but I can't remember it offhand, who may also teach music. Remind me if I see it to pick up the fearbook because it does have a list of teachers in it.
Glen> No but it's nice to know who you'd be in class with in case an rp in said class should happen right? Like there's a lot of characters taking chop class, and a lot taking art, meaning potential for in class interaction rp huzzah.
I'm keeping notes for my own sanity because I already told you.. i'm crazy obsessive. I need to be, I just can't deal with inconsistency ok? It's a compulsion.
But due to backreading and note taking I now know there's 4 potential subjects in first period and could write a reply with confidence it was already established by another player. So yay that.
I'm also finding it interesting just to see what subjects other characters do in the same way reading their bios is interesting. The electives tell you a lot about a character are are, for me anyway, little glimpses into their personalities and interests. Which is fun.
As for winging it, I do a lot of things winging it, but the setting of a school day kinda... demands some degree of structure by the simple nature of the setting. Now an rp set in a cafe, yeah, we don't need to know what's on the menu lol, but I still want to know who will share classes with my character for no reason more than it opens the door to potential interaction between characters who wouldn't necessarily interact otherwise. It can be almost impossible to bring some characters together unless they're forced together through setting/environment and where better to do that and it be believable than a classroom? Perfect place to force antisocial characters to socialise and cliques to break down hah.

We could also factor in the simple fact that just because there is one chop class during first period, doesn't mean it's the ONLY chop class taught that day. Just like the art class in first period wouldn't be the only art class. Monster High is a huge school with an enormous number of students throughout the day. There is no way they'd fit everyone taking a certain class in the same class. They'd need to be spread out throughout the day.
Example; We established that there were more than just one Mad Science class the kids could have taken as opposed to the one say, Glen was in. Hellene and Draconia just lucked out. xd
