Ferret grinned, then laughed, The little Usdia was singing away and the beat of it made Ferret's feet itch to dance. She twitched in place for just a moment before running out towards where another mare had been dancing to the Usdia's singing. Laughing as she let herself loose, her hooves flailing a little but managing to avoid hitting anyone. "Mithra!" she called, "come on let's dance.. pleaaaaaase My love, just this once" she pleaded with her mate. She loved how steady he was but sometimes she felt he needed to let his hair down from time to time, He sometimes did when playing with the boys in their own little private herdlands but other than that he didn't play, he tolerated and enjoyed Ferret for who she was and Ferret loved him for that. She danced around him in circles, nipping at his tail (just the fluff) and his braid, playfully. "Come on Mithra.. for me?" she said, giving him the puppy-dog eyes she was so good at.

Gyr followed his brother, in a gathering this large the energetic young stallion could easily offend someone, but thankfully so far that didn't seem like it was going to happen, His brother just stared at some... oooh those were PRETTY mares ... he stared right on alongside his brother for a few moments until his brother spoke "Hmm? yes what?... OH" He was a little flustered, he was rarely caught offguard. "Yes i suppose it is, mother doesn't seem to mind though" he said indicating the older mare trying to entice their father into dancing. "Maybe she'll convince him to dance this time Huh Peska?" he asked, but he'd taken his eye... and attention away from the other stallion, giving Peska all sorts of opportunities to sneak off along if he'd seen something shiny.

Al'ar looked up in shock when he heard Ciro's voice and then caught sight of her flying overhead. "Ciro wait--" He called out, spreading his own wings to get ready to follow her. As he started to pump his wings to take flight, he noticed what...rather who, she had crossed the river for.
The bright stallion stopped and stood still as he stared across the river. Aleera, the mare who was mother to his children. Even Adelis was there! He wasn't about to interrupt, not when he didn't recognize the horned stallion with them. Melon blinked as his mother took off without them. What got her so excited? Did he just hear her cry out for her own mom? So many questions began to swirl around his head as he stared across the river where she landed. Who were they? Were they there for the same reasons?
The young stallion frowned and looked to his grandfather for answers. He wasn't even paying attention to him!
"Okay...I'm just going to go over there and make sure mom is okay..." Melon said, trailing off when he realized Al'ar was really not paying any ounce of attention anymore. Spreading his own wings, he jumped across and headed for the small group. Ciro yelped at the n** to her rump, kicking up her back legs and turning to n** back at the offending stallion in response. How dare he!
"Back off! Didn't your mother ever teach you manners?!" She barked, not knowing the situation. Her rage was soon calmed as the older mare moved around her protectively. "Mom..." Ciro mumbled, nuzzling her happily. "I didn't think I'd ever see you again...I'm glad we came to this gathering now! At least...someone worth while is here."
She looked up and smiled, tears brimming in her own eyes.

Hakkar gently butted his head against Tok'kal's flank as she came near, shoving her just hard enough to get his playfulness across without hurting her with his horns. "Yer'da one dat needs preenin', sis'! Mah dusty ol' feathers be doin' just fine over here." He crouched down slightly, waggling his butt in her direction. He laughed as her tail whipped along his side, "Aye, we'd be gettin' into all sorts out here-"
It was then that Hakkar noticed the pale blue shape of his mother coming closer. Uh-oh, what've ah done wrong dis time? His ears began to press forwards defiantly, ready to defend himself against the up-coming chastising... except it never came. "Yes, 'ma, we c'n take care of da south side. Don' ya be worryin', no harpies'll be causin' any trouble."
Stretching out his wings, he looked up at the sky. "S'a good day for flyin'. Call out if ya need me, sis. Ah'll be right overhead. Ah know girls need protectin' an' all." He chuckled, quickly taking off with a few powerful strokes before Tok'kal could give him a good whallop over the head.
Circling overhead, the stallion kept a close eye out for any troubles. Everything seemed peaceful, though a few harpy-types were mingling about. He snorted, but ignored them. He could take them down later if he needed to, no harpy was a match for him.
The sight of an unfamiliar bright blue stallion caught his attention. Angling his wings downward, he swooped towards him. He looked... troll-like. He even had tusks. Was he part of the Vitterfolk? But no, Hakkar knew everyone in the herd. Maybe he was some distant relation? Landing on the ground heavily, Hakkar trotted over to the stranger. "Greetin's bruddah, who be ya?"

Malis nodded to the Voodoo matriarch as she turned away, noticing the position of the sun. It was a good time for the stories to start. The troll mare looked around for either Kai'kede or Mar'liel not seeing them at first in the large gathering. After a few moment she caught Mar'liel's eye; she was talking to an interesting herd and Malis was curious to meet them. First, however, was hosting duties. The large mare gave Mar'li a knowing nod for her to start the festivities. Glancing off to the side, Malis spotted another member of the Vitterfolk herd at the celebrations. She smiled toothily at Irlina, happy that the young mare had ventured forth from the protected glades. For a moment she wondered if Rynn would join the festivities also though she doubted the flutter would attempt to join the crowd.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
She liked this herd, they were quite friendly and interesting. Mar'liel saw her grandmother's nod and gave a low bow. "Please excuse me for a moment." The young troll smiled and then trotted to the small stage that had been set up for the purpose of storytelling. Taking a deep breath she called out over the loose chatter. "Welcome one an' all! I do hope ya journey here was a pleasurable one. Welcome to the WillowGlen territories an' make yourself feel at home. I would like to announce the start of the storytelling festival!" She smiled and looked around for the first storyteller, wondering where Lyrica might have gotten too. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Oh crud... Irlina noticed Malis had spotted her and tired to think of something. If she didn't return back to the glades by the end of the festival it would be obvious to what her plan was. The flutter wrinkled her nose as she attempted to come up with an idea that would give her a reason to have been down in this area of the WillowGlen territory. Irlina glanced up at the stage where Mar'liel was looking around for the first storyteller. She knew that Lyrica was supposed to be heading up towards the stage but at a cursory glance around the grassy area, the pirate mare was no where to be seen. An idea hatched in her mind and tentatively she made her way to the stage. With a nod to Mar'li she smiled at the crowd and started the first story she could think of.
Once upon a time, there was a kawani princess who was spoiled rotten. Everything she could ever want was provided for her by her parents. One day she was playing with her golden ball near a rushing river and dropped it. She was distraught when it rolled into the river and she could not retrieve it. Wretchedly, she dashed herself by the edge of the river and cried her heart out. A frog, hearing her lamentations, asked her what was troubling her. When she told him, he responded: "If I return you your golden orb, will you promise to let me visit you in your teepee, eat from your plate and sleep on your pillow when you rest for the night?" Wanting nothing more than to see her favorite toy returned to her she agreed, though she had no intention to keep her promise. The frog jumped into the middle of the river and came back up with her golden ball. So happy was she to see it once more she left with barely a thanks and forgot all about the frog by the river. That night there was a knocking at the door and a hunter was startled to see a frog standing on the threshold. 'Open the door, my princess dear, Open the door to thy true love here! And mind the words that thou and I said By the friver cool, in the greenwood shade.' The princess remembered her promise and blushed for she did not wish to hold her end of the bargain. She pretended not to see the frog and tried to shoo him away. However, her father noticed her behavior and asked her the issue. She replied: "There is a nasty frog at the door, that lifted my ball for me out of the river this morning. I told him that he should live with me here, thinking that he could never get out of the spring; but there he is at the door, and he wants to come in." Her father shook his head and scolded her gently. "If you gave your word then you must keep it." With that he bade the frog come in and each time the princess tried to refuse the frog his wish he reminded her 'a promise is a promise.' Soon it was time for her to retire and at first she almost refused the frog once more. However, what her father had said finally stuck and she took the frog with her to bed and placed him on the pillow. For if anything, at least it will only be one night. She thought to herself. In the morning, she was surprised to see a kawani prince sleeping by her! When he awoke he explained that an evil shaman had cursed him into the guise of a frog and he was prevented from turning back until a princess had treated him in kind as if he was human once again. As she was the one to break the curse he asked for her hand in marriage and they were lifemated for ever more! The End! Irlina gave a small bow and hopped off the stage, hoping that all who saw her would remember she had been there to share a story. At least then she had the perfect cover for her plan!

Mameha Otome Sorry it took so long! Had a day off yesterday. L'inglesou listened to his niece speak about her love affairs, and banishment. He shifted his feet uncomfortably, "Why would Rokh'jin be banished? And which one is she?" He looked around. It felt odd that this soquili were his family and yet he knew next to nothing about them. He remembered Mar'li braiding his hair as a foal, a cherished memory...but not much else. When he looked up, he beheld his mother. And his heart beat painfully against his ribs. He had not realized how much he missed her, he inclined her head--not sure if an embrace after all these years would be proper. "I would love to come home, momma." He hadn't said 'momma' since he was a foal. "And I will visit, when I can. But my mate, she is one of the oceans and waters only. They call her the Loch Ness...." He trailed off, not saying monster, even though it was the title they gave his mate. "Nessie cannot walk the land, and I do not wish to leave her for long." "I have missed you mother, missed all of you." Even those, he didn't know.

Lethe acknowledged the other mare's words with a bit of a toothy grin. Her eyes followed the mare as she stepped closer to her and made a circuit around her. As that was happening Lethe was giving this stranger a swift perusal as well. How strange was it to come across another that had so much in common with her, right down to a funny crescent moon marking on her face. Lethe's gaze widened a little bit still she needed time to assess the situation more.
"I can see that there are many targets here one would think almost too many to choose from. However the case I should relish the chance to hook my talons into one that is malleable enough to bend to my will."
Lethe cast a gaze over the mare whose soul, by the minute, seemed to resonate along the same that hers did.
"Tell me, do you have a name?"

He turned his head away, that hadn't been the sentiment he'd been aiming for at all. Really, he should have known it would be taken that way. How else could it be taken?
"Ah, well, you do have a point. It's not often one finds a crowd like this. Are you familiar with the vitterfolk?"

Arcturus noted the stallion's response, and was some what mollified. "Indeed... Such crowds are rare, to my knowledge. And no, I have not yet encountered them before." He turned his head, looking over the crowds again.
"Nonetheless, it would be a great pity for me to not take this chance to expand my knowledge and meet them."

"Would you oppose to a companion for the remainder of the festival?" that way at least he would be able to judge if he needed to ditch the stranger or not before it was time to head home. "I haven't brought along anyone either. Already getting a touch lonely, despite the crowd."

He was silent for a long moment, as he pondered the other male's offer that was almost a request. Mmm was this a good idea...? He looked back at the other stallion, his eyes glinting as he thought. He studied how the other looked, and then finally he nodded.
"Company is always welcome. It is good to have some one to be around, if only so you have some one to talk to the whole time."

"Ahh, to hear that delightful voice once again is just a treasure." Pip smiled as he sauntered towards Pamuya with a happy smile. He had been called away on a few errands so it had been at least a few weeks since he had seen her. Now she was within the lands he called home and the angeni was ecstatic to see the colourful mare. "I came back here to help out with the decorations, being able to shift into hands can be quite useful on occasion." He didn't even have to mention the opportunity of seeing so many new soquili in one place or even the articulate stories that had been promised. Pip always followed the passions; art, celebrations, making connections and enjoying the company of others were the chief creators of such passions. He was there to enhance the enjoyment of everyone around him, a job he was devoted to with care and diligence. "To see you here is a blessing and a much enjoyed reward for such hard work." Pip noticed she had been making her way towards where the river met up with the lake and gestured towards it with an open wing. "Care to join me with some refreshments?" "I agree you should!" Mairéad knew Lyrica was going to hop on stage to help break the ice but her best friend seemed to be missing for the moment. Instead, one of the Vitterfolk herds, a young mare who was rarely seen, went up to tell a story. "Ohhhh... I haven't heard this one in a long time. I think it's called the Frog Princess... or maybe that's a different story." She pondered for a moment, trying to remember what story the Frog Princess was. Turning towards Rabbit at Skyla's suggestion she smiled. "I would love to hear a story by you, Rabbit! Why not hop up on stage and tell it to everyone? It looks like there is space for the next story after this one." She was curious to hear what story he would tell. Did Usida have different legends and folk law?
After greeting a few other guests and nodding towards Mar'liel at the announcement of the Storytelling commencement, Kai'kede spotted a stallion who seemed to be just looking around. With a curious glance at his attire, she was intrigued and trotted over to welcome him to the celebrations. "Good afternoon sir. I do hope you are doing well today. It is nice to see so many guests have joined us for the festival. Do you plan in participating or are you here just to meet people?" The flutter smiled warmly at Relic, wanting him to feel welcomed as a new visitor to the WillowGlen herd lands. The future leader of the WillowGlen herd suddenly realized she was remiss of her duties. "My name is Kai'kede, may I have the pleasure in knowing yours?"

Sable was out stretching her legs. As she galloped, she focused on the feeling of her muscles bunching under her skin. She had no direction of travel in mind, but was just running for pleasure. As the trees rushed past, her hooves striking carefully between roots, her ears perked up at a faint sound carried on the wind. She swung her body quickly around a tree, turning to run into the breeze and toward the sound.
As she neared, the sounds of other Soquili became clear. Sable still could not see anyone, so she surmised that it was a large group. Once the outline of some of the strangers became apparent, she slowed her pace. She didn't want to startle anyone or cause a commotion that would interrupt whatever was happening.
Her trot slowed to a walk, and she began to make out snippets of the conversations flowing in the crowd. Sable slowly moved into the crowd, looking for someone to talk to.((Please quote me if you reply!))

"My mother," He sneered despite his elder brother getting in the way. "Taught me well. But when a panicky mare flaps her way over and nearly barges into me, and pretty much does, her, I tend to decide to do away with niceties."
With a grunt, he was bumped away by Adelis, and bristled as he watched Ciro with his mother, but relented and moved his larger frame with Adelis' "encouragement".

"Oomph!" Adelis winced as his sister's back hooves connected with solid thumps against his side. He actually pinned his ears at both, but looked at his sister, warding her away before he turned back to Ae'ilvainyx, who was being quite the pompous stallion, and shoved his smaller frame against the more solid frame of his half-brother, grunting and wincing, but adamant.
Ae'ilvainyx would move, and the sunset-coloured stallion breathed a great sigh of relief when he started to. But he didn't stop until Ae'il was far enough away that he was content nothing would happen, especially with the flutter of wingbeats that approached.

Aleera's dual-toned eyes softened at the pain in her daughter's eyes that her tears shimmered over. She made a soft clucking noise and brushed at her baby girl's forelock.
Wondering.
"Someone worth while..? Oh, Ciro..." Though she blinked to see the pale, fruit-coloured wind approach, her gaze soon found her daughter's again, and nothing but concern radiated from her. There was no sense in berating her daughter for what she felt, so she just smoothed her cheek against Ciro's. "What happened, sweetheart..?"
A mother always knew.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Sorry it took so long, been in a sort of slump lately... "Oh I don't know...grandmama has her reasons for things I guess." Lukou started, looking around at their small group. Where did her cousin get off to? "I'm not...sure...where she went. She was just here a moment ago. Anyway, she's the one who has this really strange tree around her head and neck."
Voices from nearby caught her attention, and she looked away as Guedes came towards them. They had started telling stories up near the stage area! Lukou glanced back at her family then moved off a bit to stand and listen. There were so many things to learn from these other herds after all. The older mare nodded as she listened to her eldest speak. She would refuse to admit it, but it pained her to hear that he would not be permanently returning home again. This mate of his was the one keeping him away and she could not walk on land?
She began to think for a moment, wondering how one such as his mate could possibly come to their swamp home. "There be an inlet of water. It connects th' big water wit' th' swamp water. Ah 'ave not seen it m'self, so ah do not know 'ow big it is." She told him, not exactly sure what water source his mate lived in. She at least figured that if she could travel up the inlet and possibly through some of the deeper sources through the swamp, she could then have her son back home permanently.
However, that was their choice. She could only do so much convincing herself.Tefla Same to you, sorry, just been in a rut. Name? Why did this mare she only just met suddenly wish to know her name? Rokh'jin paused to stare her down for a moment, having had little interaction with others outside of the swamp until now. "Rokh'jin." She told her slowly. A look of caution came over her as she moved closer to get a better look. "What then...is your name if you must know mine?" Ciro cast a final look back at the horned stallion, caring little about him for the time being. She managed an apologetic look to her sunset brother, before turning back to face their mother.
"Just...things..." She mumbled, gently putting her head against the older mare. "Stupid stallion I thought I could trust..." She finished with a small sigh, focused intently on the ground between them. Melon came to a stop beside the other two stallions and turned to give them both a look. He noted Adelis, who looked just like his own grandfather, and gave him a smile with a nod. The other however, looked far from friendly in his eyes.
"You must be one of mom's brothers, my uncle, but...who are you?" He asked, looking Ae'il up and down curiously. Al'ar assessed the situation carefully, deeming things to be under control enough that he shouldn't worry. He cast a final look across the river then turned his attention to listen to the stories beginning to be told over at the stage.
"Aleera will watch them...they'll know how to find me, I'm sure...." He mumbled to himself. He began to push his way through the crowd to better listen to what was being said. He might as well enjoy it now that it was beginning.

Zevron looked among the crowds and his eyes alighted upon two mares who looked like they could be interesting company. One was a golden yellow colour with pale mane and tail, the other was like dusk, her silvery coat complementing her darker hair. Together they reminded him of the sun and moon. With a wide grin he strode over, giving his mane a shake to make sure it fell 'just so'. "My dear ladies, I do hope you are here for some fun. Such georgeous girls should not be without an escort in such places such as here. You never know who you may meet up with." The zhevra winked slyly before giving a small bow. "Zevron, at your service! And what delightful names should I address you two with?"
The troll mare smiled as she noticed a family watching her. The foal seemed quite attentive which made her chuckle and remind her of the ones she tutored. Malis was intrigued with the attire they seemed to wear, a mixture of gold and leaves. She wondered for a moment if she was correct in assuming they appeared to be growing from them which would add to her curiosity if she was correct. Walking towards them, she gave a respectful bow. "Welcome to t' WillowGlen Herdlands, Ah be hopein' ya stay here be a good one. If ya be needin' anythin', don't be hesitatin' t' ask. An' if ya feel like tellin' a story or two ah be sure t' be delighted t' hear them!" The large matriarch grinned toothily before reaching her head down to IthillĂșn's level. "An' what might be ya name little tree?"
