Azlok
You search and search until you spot a downed soldier's shield, the metal is of surprisingly high quality and it nearly blinded you upon glancing at it.
Ezarix
You narrowly avoid a frenzied swipe by the giant as you manage to make it from cover to cover. Upon reaching your new haven, you discover a moderate length of rope hanging from one of the destroyed battlements.

Azlok roared a praise to Hrolfnir quickly as he raced over and prayed that Hrolfnir may Light his way so brilliantly, that it may blind those who are deaf to the gods gifts. Focused on the shield as the words passed his lips. He could only hope Hrolfnir would hear his child in such a chaotic time.
Action: Cast Light on the shield, and direct the refocused light at the Ettin's eye.

The rope would have to do, though it seemed there weren't any ballista to tie it onto. A spear would have to do, though it would be foolish to use his only form of defence.
Ettin were giant, and attacking one head-on was a dead-man's duty, so using a rope and javelin one could at least climb it and reach vital attack points.
Action: Search for spare weapons lying around

Litaria nodded at the dwarf, too flooded with adrenaline at the moment to form coherent words. She managed a small smile as he introduced herself, but got no further before she heard the cries of dismay from below. A second later, she saw the gigantic being that had been the cause through the window. Litaria froze in shock and fear, certain she was about to die.
Azlok's shout broke her out of her daze. He ran for the stairs and Litaria followed as quickly as she could, not wanting to be in the tower if the giant brought it down. Figuring that she would have a better chance for survival if she stuck near the dwarf, she followed him as he ran and grabbed a soldier's shield off the ground.
As Litaria watched his actions, she quickly realized what he was attempting. Determined to help, she evaluated her options. Casting magic missile would probably be a foolish move--she doubted two bolts would even come close to impeding the giant. Instead she began reciting the words for a simpler spell, positioning herself so her magic flowed in the right directions.
The cleric could only blind one head at a time with that shield, but she could help with the other. And pray that the blinded giant wouldn't squish them both in the process.
Action: Cast Dancing Lights and summon one bright light to appear on one of the Ettin's noses, and another bright light that constantly bobs right in front of that face.

((Hah, well it's a good thing it took me a little while to respond))
Litaria & Azlok
Azlok casts Light on the shield and uses its reflection in an attempt to blind the ettin! Unfortunately, the magical light by itself is not enough to stop the creature, as the brightness created is little more than a torch's illumination and the ettin continues to rampage as it was previously, swatting at the priest, but missing. (Dodge affected by roll outcome!)
Litaria casts Dancing Lights at the Ettin's face. (Move affected by roll outcome!) Amazingly, the faerie-like lights race up the form of the giant and come to rest in front of the two-headed beast. The light itself did not seem to bother the creature but the fact that it sat right in front of them so tantalizingly close...
Confused by the sudden appearance of the strange lights, the dim creature attempts to swat it down from the other's face. The other head barely noticed the massive hand coming its way and the impact cost the beast its balance as it staggered backwards and fell onto its rump, crushing several unfortunate goblins beneath it.
Ezarix
You discover several damaged and discarded weapons on the bodies of soldiers and fallen goblins. Though after a moment, you manage to come across a set of javelins, still intact from the pack of a goblin skirmisher.

Litaria jumped as the ettin swatted at the light in front of its other face and sent itself crashing backwards. The display gave her an idea, and she focused hard on the lights she had summoned. The arrows the creature had sustained earlier didn't seem to have fazed it very much, but what if she could get it to damage itself?
She moved the lights, making one dance in front of each face, especially near the eyes. If she could get the two heads to fight each other, it would drastically improve matters for the defenders. She tried to make the lights' movements as like an annoying, erratic insect as possible, hoping to keep the ettin's attention on swatting at them.
Action: Focus on moving the Dancing Lights. (If not allowed, cast Dancing Lights again to have a new light constantly bobbing in front of the other face.)

Azlok had hoped for something a little more from his gods, but since they know better than himself, he decided to use what he was given. Before he could put it to a different use, the spellcaster beside him sent lights towards the monsters face, not to mention the hand that just missed him slamming into the ground. The beast even fell back after hitting itself. Azlok laughed heartily at the comical antics. "Keep it up, Lassie," he shouted to her, over the commotion of people running about. "An' ah pray 'at we survive th' battle," he spoke softly to himself. He decided to protect Litaria from any goblins coming her way. He prepared his mace and prayed that maybe somebody could deal with the creature. He also hoped that the light on his shield would draw in the goblins. It may be just barely a light, but it was Hrolfnir given light.
Action: Place my mace in the face of any goblin approaching Litaria, and distract goblins from other potential targets.

((Where'd Babelguppy go? D: ))
Litaria
As you prepare to cast Dancing Lights again, a goblin's arrow grazes your shoulder, disrupting your spellcast! The spell fizzles into nothingness as you reflexively grasp the minor wound. The ettin however remains distracted by the light that continues to taunt both of its ignorant faces.
Litaria is now Barely Injured.
Azlok
Seeing the young wizarddess in pain causes you to meet the threat head on as the goblin duo who launched the assault now barrel forward. You successfully club the first one's neck with your mace, causing it to lurch backwards in pain. Meanwhile the other takes aim once more with its crude bow.

Litaria clapped a hand onto her shoulder, the dancing lights spell momentarily forgotten as the pain distracted her. She'd been very lucky--the arrow hadn't even embedded itself. The distraction did make her take stock of her surroundings. The ettin was still distracted for now, but Azlok was busy fighting off two goblins, presumably including the one that had shot her. He sent one staggering backwards, but then the other one aimed its bow again.
Making a mental note to thank the dwarven cleric later, Litaria pushed the pain from her mind, whipped around, and cast Ray of Frost at the goblin. It most likely wouldn't be enough to take the creature out entirely, but right now she needed to conserve her magic for the ettin. She was already beginning to feel the first touches of magical exhaustion--a slight feeling of overall weakness and an unwelcome desire to sleep. Not enough yet to be more than a minor annoyance, but a reminder that her magic was limited. Hopefully the frost would be enough to phase it for a moment and hopefully buy Azlok time to finish it and the other goblin off.
Action: Cast Ray of Frost.

Azlok was too focused on the first one that hurt Litaria to even notice the second goblin. "Die!" he shouted as he barreled forward to take another swing at the first goblin.

Seeing the Ettin fall made this the opportune time to strike. He carefully tied a strong knot to one of the javelin which he intended to use to climb up the Ettin's back and assault the more vital areas. He quickly ran to a good position somewhere behind the creature, readied his javelin and let it fly.
Action: Throw a javelin.

Litaria & Azlok
You prepare to cast Ray of Frost. The chill of early winter seeps into your hands as a beam filled with icy shards erupts from your hands and launches at the goblin archer!
Success!
Your spell coats the beast in a frosty shell as you unleash the wave of cold upon the archer. Its limbs begin to move more slowly and its eyes open wide in obvious pain as it doubles over and freezes to death.
Azlok swings again at the first goblin and bashes its skull in as it fails recovering from the previous staggering blow!
Azlok and Litaria gain minor experience from defeating the goblins.

Ezarix
In a bold attempt, you make an effort to launch your javelin at the ettin's back.
Success!
With a deep breath and a strong heave, you hurl the javelin through the air and it embeds itself firmly into the beast's shoulder, causing it to flinch and instinctively swat at the itch on its back. You gather your resolve as you climb your way to the monster's broad mantle.

Everything was going as planned so far, but that was no reason to let his guard down. It was down to the crucial moments of the fight. Ezarix jolted toward's the Ettin grabbing the rope as it dangled on it's back. He quickly began climbing towards the necks of the beast. It would be difficult to attack with a spear one handed while holding his body weight with the other. He had to get between the heads while they were distracted. He only hoped it wouldn't notice an Elf on it's back. With that he made a decisive attack on the left head of the beast.
Action: Climb up the Ettin to the space between the heads and attack the left head.

Litaria blinked in surprise as her spell made the goblin freeze to death right before her eyes. It was quite a bit more effective than she'd expected.
Turning her attention back to the Ettin, Litaria noticed someone climbing the thing, presumably in the hopes of finding a weak spot higher on its body. Determined to give the warrior a chance, Litaria put all her concentration into distracting the Ettin, trusting that Azlok would protect her from any more goblins. She pointed and recited the spell for Dancing Lights once more. The first spell wouldn't last forever, and the more lights that distracted the stupid heads, the better. Exhaustion was a very real distraction now; her magic was getting faint and difficult to access, and lying down in the middle of the battlefield for a nap was starting to seem like a very nice decision despite its daftness.
Action: Cast Dancing Lights again.
((Also, about how many more casts can Litaria do before collapsing?))
