Chaos's face went impassive as he looked forward as a shadow chose to fall over their figures. He looked up to see a winged azrein above them, though he didn't recognize who it was. "Let's speed up." He said, his pace quickening.

Dakini nodded, quickening her pace alongside him. With the glare of the sun, it was hard to tell if the winged Azrien above them was friend or foe... And if they were an enemy, there wouldn't be much warning before they struck.

Chaos kept an eye on the sky, and before nightfall, the stranger disappeared, probably sensing the heat signature that was Ruin's... well.. Ruin's when he was mad. Chaos led Daki to the cave where Ruin was snarling, telling Demoni about the deal between Paimon, his mate, and some fellow named Grimm.

Demoni listened to Ruin's fiery tantrum with a stoic expression. He tactfully waited for his mate to finish before sliding to his side and offering soothing words to calm the flaming stallion. He was not familiar with Grimm beyond the single meeting they'd had and Ruin's rants about the straw-covered stallion getting close to Lacey, but it was clear the unnerving Azrien was doing an excellent job of jabbing at Ruin, who'd forced him away from Ruin's former conquest. He almost felt sorry for Grimm. Almost. But he hadn't been terribly fond of Lacey, which made him care quite a bit less.
Dakini watched, a bit fascinated with the pair. The temperature dropped a degree or two just at the first sound of her father's voice--at least, that was how it seemed to her. Somehow she got the image of a beast and its tamer out of the pair, and it seemed surprisingly romantic to her.

Chaos stopped and slipped into the cave to sleep, as he would be staying a few nights out here. He took a place near the mouth of the cave and curled up, not wanting anything to do with his father's discussion.
Ruin simmered as he saw the two young, but his eyes still glowered with rage as he looked at Demoni. "There is only one thing left to do." he turned away and took a few steps away from Demoni. "I shall have to steal one."

Dakini sighed and joined her step-brother, not wanting to be near the demons if Ruin started heating up again. Tired from the day's exercises, she quickly fell fast asleep.
Demoni shook his head. "They're living with Lacey and her family, Ruin," he pointed out. "Who are much more diligent due to your last kidnapping of grandchildren. Not to mention a lost line of Kronos's family and the dragon brat D'von. Plus both of your sons and two grandsons that share your flames? Even you would have difficulty completing such a task, Ru."

Ruin grumbled and stomped around, trying to think of another way of attacking... which is when his eyes alighted on the two children. He grinned and turned to Demoni. "Maybe for myself only... But with some help..." he grinned wildly as he studied the sleeping children.

Demoni sighed. "Do you really think that Chaos will turn on his own family?" he questioned. "His mother, his brothers? Uncles, aunts, grandparents..." He paused, looking at his daughter. So innocent in sleep, unlike in consciousness. "I do not like the idea of risking the king, rook and bishop in favor of a pawn, Ruin," he added, using chess terms to emphasize his point. Strategically, it was a no-win situation. Even if they survived the assault, who was to say that they'd actually manage to get a child? "Especially since there's no guarantee that pawn will be loyal to you."

Ruin was quiet and tight lipped as he answered. "I will find a way to convince him." he growled out.

Chaos circled around the little outcropping where three good aligned azrein slept. It was night and he kept his flames as dim as he could, so as to not alert any nearby passers to his presence. He knew Daki was close by, hovering in the air, and that she was keeping her eye on him, and that the second he began his descent, she would charge in. This was her plan after all. He kept his eyes on the three. No one posted for guard, all three sleeping... and so close to the borderlines. How foolish. This was their first mission alone, and he would not mess this up. He'd been a good apprentice, and he and Daki were an amazing team. But this was it, d-day. He made the signal, a bright flash of his flames before they returned to their dimness as he began his descent, his wings tucked in tight to his body to make him more streamlined, just as Demoni had taught him. His ears flat against his skull so as to not disturb his eardrums, and flapping his wings out just before hitting the ground to make a graceful landing. He was silent as he used the claw on his wing to cut the throat of the nearest stallion, who's death throes woke the others. "I am your end." He growled out, low and threatening before going after the others.

Dakini sighed at his growl, already on the ground behind one of the other Azrein. "You're so dramatic," she informed her partner, slitting the throat of the nearby enemy that had backed away from Roman in his groggy surprise--and towards her. Roman seemed to be handling the last of their opponents, but she kept an eye on him just in case. She absently shook the blood from her wing claw, sighing. She wasn't much into the killing part of their missions. It was so messy... Intimidation and blackmail were much more fun. "Almost done?" she asked over her shoulder as she looked around their surroundings for any other lifeforms. They hadn't seen any while flying, but with the time of night, there was always a chance. Dakini didn't want to be ambushed. It would be embarrassing to try and explain that to her father and step-father.

Roman grinned at his sister as he fluttered in front of their opponent, letting it get away a few feet before he would land in front of him again. "Daki... Can I keep it?" He asked, his eyes glittering in the dark. He waited for her denial before he shrugged and turned to the other stallion. "Oh well. Sorry fellow. I tried." He said before breathing out a long and large flame which engulfed the male, killing him in seconds. He trotted back over to Daki, dragging the other, burning corpse behind him, and set them all in a pile, before setting fire to them. He waited a few moments before turning to Daki. "Think we passed?" He asked passively.

Dakini rolled her eyes at her step-brother's question. "No, you can't keep it. You know what Father does to pets." Torched them and scolded whoever brought the pet home. Roman's question drew a huff and another eyeroll out of her. "Of course we passed," she replied, glancing around again for any movement. "We did our mission exactly as instructed." She paused, looking at the pile of burning corpses. "Don't completely torch them," she suggested. "At least one of their faces should be recognizable." They would serve as a lovely warning to others in the area.
