Salem was back up on his feet, as was Cartwright following his clever cover attempt over the reigning Asylum Champion. Still, the man-in-question seemed more than a little tired, battered and beaten from the brutal encounter between these esteemed adversaries. Perhaps as a sign of respect, or maybe as a way of going all-in with his chips, Salem shuffled off the ropes and held out the kendo stick, facing his opponent before chucking it from the ring, waving Cartwright on with a haggard expression, like a wounded lion ready to fight for its territory to the death.

Cartwright watches his opponent struggle towards him on his wounded legs with no signs of sympathy or care, just a swagtastic smirk as he looks at Salem and KNOWS that his swag is up to the maximum while Salem has the swag of a tin of paint. Salem has thrown the kendo stick away, which makes Cartwright feel even more confident as the newbie makes a rookie mistake. Cartwright tries to grab Salems face with both hands and shout many horrible words at him, just to get him riled-up and maybe even a little bit intimidated. Stuff like, "I hope you enjoyed your reign while it lasted, little boy." Good shizzle like that, use your imaginations people!

Salem's legs were trembling a little in his pants, a side-effect of the sensational match he'd been putting on with the contender for his title, Cartwright. Still, Salem refused to let his softness show, standing before his opponent like a true champion would - without fear. But, Salem was also without a weapon, and Cart sought to capitalize on that development by drawing the rookie near by two fistfuls of his hair. Talking trash, "King" Cartwright criticized the "Heir-Apparent of Hardcore" and his first-ever title reign. But Mr. Wright's demoralizing words had the opposite effect - rather than rattle his reserves, they bolstered his spirits, lighting a fire in Salem's eyes as he brought a fist up to viciously backhand his adversary across the cheek with one firm strike!

Gawd damn it! Salem ain't taking that shizzle from Kartwright! He escapes Kartwright's grasp and backhands him so hard that he staggers backwards from the blow! He wobbles as he tries to straighten himself on his feet!

The crowd popped enthusiastically in celebration of Salem standing up to his smart-assed opponent, causing Cartwright to stumble back a bit in response to the heady backhand. The boost of excitement from the audience strengthened Salem's morale, the Asylum Champion stepping forward to grab his challenger by the wrist and hurl him towards the ropes with a quick Irish Whip!

Cartwright is flung across the ring by Salem! Cartwright regains himself as he rebounds off the ropes and tries to take Salem off his feet with an impressive and athletic flying head scissors!

Cartwright had regained his composure as he careened towards the Charismatic Calamity off the ropes, rebounding from the Irish Whip. The crafty contender tried catching Croft with a quick headscissors takedown, but the current Asylum Championship titleholder intended to illustrate his credentials to the clever challenger by carrying him into a spin, attempting to convert the takedown into a whirlwind sit-out spinebuster into the array of objects spread across the canvas!

Salem refuses to be flipped as he uses his power to keep a hold of Cartwright spin him so that Cartwright is facing Salem and then slam him back-first on to chair, trash can and kendo stick! That's gotta hurt!
