In a hidden corner of the cathedral, a trap door popped open. In the blink of an eye, the black figure snaked out of the opening and the door would close, the secret entrance hidden once more. After her near miss with the dragons, Nai found herself transported to the catacombs of Nocturne, out of which she had just crawled out of using the entrance she had made so many years ago when orchestrating the building of this cathedral. Back then, Nai was still a trainee and a member of Nocturne's army. Now, she was a master and a wanderer. This moment would have been a perfect time for reminiscing. Too bad the ever efficient gunslinger wasn't into such unnecessary sympathies like that.

She came in, made sure the door was hidden once more, then walked out. There was a fairhair fang she needed to find and grab for herself.

Passives
XXChaotic Energy: A passive skill that comes naturally after learning at least five chaos skills, Chaotic Energy is present when the chaos within the user reaches the point where it effects the way their energy is seen. It causes the energy to relay absolutely no concrete information (ex: class, rank, sins). Energy sensors will still be able to sense the affected person's energy. However, the energy will be such a mixed up mess that they will be unable to extract any information out of it. At most, they will know that something is unusual with the user. However, what this abnormality is will be unknown as the messed-up patterns of energy hint at nothing.
XXTemporal Accuracy: Those who can control time naturally have a keen sense of time that is capable of accurately keeping the time without any form of outside help. This sense of time is even maintained during the usage of bloodline skills for both the time passed by the user and the time passed by those unaffected by the bloodline skills. Unlike most of the Tempus Inexstinctus's skills, this ability does not break down when within a meter of another significant energy source.

It had been awhile since he arrived back at the Cathedral, it still had that hole that he accidentally made due to a stupid midget goblin. Shaking his head, he went inside, his staff in hands as he looked around, sniffing for any traces of blood. The place was of holy nature, so being inside of it stung Radek's body, but not that much. With the staff in hand, he began to swing it around, breaking benches by the plenty as he entered the place further. Each bench he broke, he looked around to see if anything was around, but when he broke the last two benches, he could hear bullets being put into place behind him. He turned around, spinning his staff viciously as bullets began to fly at Radek, with him backing up slowly. The foes that opened fired were rebellious humans, who were innocent in their own right. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time as Radek soon shifted away and hid behind the stone podium while bullets kept flying. Radek was breathing heavily, but calmed his heart rate, letting the art of his people flow through him. Within moments, the church started to fill up with mist, baffling the enemies as they fired in a few random directions. Radek left his staff at the podium as he drew out his greatsword, running out from behind the podium as he slashed at the group, bisecting one in clean half while knocking the rest out of the area. The mist stayed around while Radek left the steel greatsword where it was, doing quick cartwheels in silence as he maneuvered around towards one of the downed gunman.

With a silent unsheathing, Radek pulled out both of his Kodachis as he placed them around the man's neck, who got his pistol and pressed the barrel against his abdomen. Both of them moved at the same time, Radek screaming in pain as the man's head rolled away from his body. Radek on the other hand, had just been shot with a blessed bullet, the burning sensation hurting his abdomen as if it was on fire. Radek did a few silent backflips away as he left the kodachi's there, holding his abdomen still as he cursed to himself, but the sizzling sound was drawing human attention, to which Radek royally did not need. He moved quickly to grab his greatsword as he soon jumped up while charging at one of the gunman, who's aim was worse than a Star-trooper. He planted his feet first into the man before he jumped off of him, slashing down to send the being in half, blood splattering everywhere in the church. He soon turned to notice the last human, who was armed with a shot gun, but before he could pull the trigger, the man found it hard to even move. Around the being's body, was a shadowy figure that appeared to be Radek himself. It had a chilling touch, the fear paralyzing the man as his eyes left Radek for only a moment. When he looked back, Radek was gone, that was until a large blade went through the back of the human, who shouted in pain as the blood on the greatsword remained for the time being. Radek was still healing from that blessed shot, the last human in the area having fallen as he soon fell to his knees, his shadow moving to return in his own shadowy image.

There is Life and there is Death...
Madly in love with each other...
Why do you say?

A shadowy cloud of smoke rolled through the darkness, slithering across the ground and in the air like a snake. It coiled around a pillar, climbing up until it stopped near the top. From this cloud of dark smoke formed a tall and slim female figure, holding onto the pillar with one hand while holding her one handed shotgun Ecstasy in the other, scanning the ground below her for any new people while watching someone else tear apart some people. From the way the figure moved and fought it became obvious to Nyx that the figure was most likely from Nocturne. Without a sound she slid down the column and landed on the ground, gently halting her descent by gripping the pillar firmly. She stepped over to the figure and knelt down.

Seems to me that you took a little more than you bargained for...Perhaps you require assistance?

Radek could hear the sounds around him, but he couldn't move from his spot as he looked around a bit. The smoke inside the darkened cathedral seemed to be something that didn't belong to him, he was trying to recover himself but stayed where he was. He soon noticed something dark in his peripherals as he looked around for a moment. It didn't take long till his eyes were set onto a woman, a being that he's never seen around before. "Some... assistance would be liked." Radek told her softly as he held a hand up. "The name's Radek, Radek Nekerat." He told her softly incase she cared to hear out his name.

Nyx put her shotgun away under her coat as she reached down and firmly gripped the figure who identified himself as Radek's hand, briefly allowing herself to become tangible and solid as to help him up. With a firm grip she pulled Radek to his feet and tilted her head to the side, the only real feature revealed being her left eye from the cracked off portion of her mask. The figure was about her height but slightly taller. She released her grip from his hand as her body became intangible to physical touch once more, blurring the edges of her figure ever so slightly as she spoke.

I go by Nyx...Nothing past that...Seems to me you took a nasty hit from a blessed weapon of some sort...You're not a shade as far as I can tell...

Radek kept a tight grip as he was assisted to his own feet, feeling a tad imbalanced before he stood up normally. He kept a hand over his wound as he looked at her mask, soon his eyes landed upon her own left eye. He released her hand as he noticed her becoming a tad smokey once again, causing himself to think for a moment. "Nyx huh? That is certainly an interesting name... but yeah... a blessed bullet and I do not mix." He told her as she soon pointed out how he wasn't a shade, causing him to smile before chuckling softly. "Yes, I am not a shade, but I am the residential blacksmith, who happens to be a vampire."

Nyx raised an eyebrow as Radek mentioned his bloodline and occupation. She glanced at him and then back at the dead corpses lying down on the ground. She turned back to Radek and spoke. She had her ears opened to make sure no one else who may be unfriendly would appear. It wouldn't be much of an issue to her considering she could avoid most assaults against her but the wounded Radek might be a different story.

Vampire Blacksmith? Could have fooled me...Do you need anything to help you recover?

He noted her eyebrow being raised as his own wound finally began to regenerate at a very slow and steady rate. "Just some time to recuperate. After clearing this place of humans, I'd need to keep myself ready on the move. But with the mission I was given.... I'd need to ensure this place is purged of Humans and anyone that is a vanglist sympathizer." Radek told Nyx as he began to stretch his back slowly as he kept his hand over the hole in his abdomen.

Nyx's eyes wandered once more to the corpses of the dead humans. Might have been a tad bit overkill, but who was she to judge that. Her preferred method of killing often involved a hole the size of a dinner plate in someone's chest or missing heads with blood splattered everywhere. Vanglist sympathizers were not quite high on her list of priorities but if there was a decently paid job for their heads she wouldn't mind. She kept an ear and eye open for anyone else who might come in uninvited and looked back at Radek.

Well I do believe your task here is done...Strange for a blacksmith such as yourself to be doing this sort of work.

Radek chuckled from her responses and even a smart quip from her put a smile on Radek's face. The wound had finally healed up as Radek began to take in the blood from the corpses into his own to restore his energy. He exhaled a small mist of blood away from Nyx before he locked eyes with her once again. "In this area, it appears so. But I was a tad tired of smithing, and since I know how to create any weapon, I thought I could do well as a fighter." He told her as he picked back up each of his weapons, keeping his pole out as he headed towards her, offering her a hand to join him so they could head on towards the next area. A mission to clean out humans and vangelist sympathizers would be a nice way to get into the Nocturne Forces.

The halls of the great cathedral seemed to be full of life today. It was a big day for anyone calling this place important to them indeed, and to any citizen, soldier, or slave who wished to be there for the sermon to be delivered. Zachariah himself had delivered a message to Gremmy in blood from Fate, the heart in his hand, splashed across the wall of his home. He even left a bit of incentive; the head of a horse embedded in the same wall. Gremmy had read the message, received it warmly through his cold body. It is time, unholy preacher, to deliver the message of Vaet Noctorum not only to the Vaetians of Nocturne but any who dare call themselves anything else. The next part Gremmy smiled at as well. You call Catherine your god, your patron? Death can be a harsh mistress, but one who stands to benefit just as much from War as I, even if she has no true preference for who she takes in. In this way, I envy her. To be able to wage war from both sides, taking the souls of any and all as her own. In this way, we have mutual respect. So as I commit souls to her slaughter, I am sure to win her over to my side, as I have you. The Grand Cathedral shall be your stage, and you shall bring our message to Nocturne, you shall inspire them. With fear. With absolution. You shall do what you do best with no structure from me. Show your fellow mortals Vaet Nocturnum. Gremmy set about writing and preparing his sermon immediately, as his God-King had ordered him to do. Zachariah was in for a treat indeed.

So as people, all races welcome of course, meandered towards the sanctuary, it seemed like the day would be filled with darkness and fear. Suddenly, the entire church would be filled with a dark echo, a voice from beyond death beckoning to everyone. "Come my children of the dark. Gather here, to me in the sanctuary. The time has come." The halls were emptied into the great hall after his words, where the God King sat in an ornate chair on the altar, back and to the right of Gremmy who stood quietly, his ornate robes and hat giving away his position as the pastor of the damned. Zachariah seemed to be unimpressed by the Cathedral, though it was a cultural and engineering marvel. He'd seen greater. As blood spilled from Fate, and his blade seemed unable to be stable, he simply watched. Gremmy stood there, his eyes silent for the moment as the stragglers fell into place.

All at once he would come to life, a dim green light emitting from his eyes and mouth and his body, ghastly as always, seeming more or less imposing depending on who was looking. "Rise, fellow demons, dead ones, unholy or otherwise, in reverence of the God-King of Vaet Nocturnum, Zachariah." Everyone would stand to their feet and he would wave his hand, clutching the heart still as always, dismissively. Gremmy looked to him, and Zachariah merely nodded to him. Gremmy did so in return, respectful and grateful for the opportunity. "Let any and all who have ears and would hear, lend them to me, for I, Gremmy of Nocturne, have been charged with teaching you all of the truth." As he spoke he walked forth, the grand stage before thousands of followers offering him as an important figure to be heard as he alone stood now before them, with the God King looking directly at him. "The wicked and unholy religion, the one true religion for those of us who embrace our nature as demons, for too long has been corrupted. I call out to we Vaetians in a time where there is no leadership, no truth. Only lies meant to perpetuate petty gains over large scale ones. Hear me now, my children." He held out his hands, and green balls of energy formed, seeming to suck the light from the room, leaving only his own body illuminated for a second. Murmers in the crowd began, none of dissent but all of curiosity of the self-proclaimed Prophet of the Vaetian.

"In times past," he began as his Lantern appeared and cast an image unto the cieling, "A great, powerful angel stood out among his peers as one of strength and glory. His name brought fear and admiration to forefront weather he chose to walk or fly among his flock. Few could stand against him, fewer still could stand with him. He revelled in this glory, this absolution." He hung those two words, glory and absolution, slowly allowing them to sink in. "When he looked upon us and saw weakness and complacency taking rot it was his perogative, no his will that it not continue. He came down with fury in his heart and mind, aiming to continue the tradition of the strong surviving over the weak. But trickery and deceit, the weakest of all great powers, took him from the mortal world and began sinking it's claws into him. He pleaded for the angels above to save him, to help him in anyway, but they did not. They abandoned him, if out of fear or envy perhaps, or maybe because they were too weak. Either way, the angel fell from his heavenly coils and joined the ranks of demons instead." Gremmy moved a hand to Zachariah, who smiled at hearing the way his tale was spun by Gremmy. "You hear me correctly. Our King Zachariah was once of the most powerful angels there ever was. But their disdain for his position led to his realizing that they are weak. Decievers and liars alike fill the heavens, but not of the true kind. No they pretend and act as though holier than thou. They revel in making mortal men weak and pitiable so that they may find strength in it. Let me ask you a question, children of the night." The crowd seemed leashed to his words. "Are you weak?" An uproar started, causing the lich to smirk and raise a hand to quiet them.

"Then there is much more to tell you." He deliberately moved his hands in a wave to keep their attention on him. "Vakk Antha Nocturnum. I pledge myself to it. But not the VAet Nocturnum you know, my boys. I preach of a new, better religion for you all to accept. You see, in the south there was a war recently, one where a great power was unleashed that struck down and bound both Makath and his mother Kala, weakening them and in the process showing how easily they could fall. Our religion is one that forsakes the weak in favor of strength, and somehow the strongest of Vaetians was taken down?! NO. A pretender was removed for the true king to take over. Zachariah, Leader of Vaet Nocturnum is here today as a shining example of what we are. Strong beyond measure!" he said moving to incite the crowd with a magical flare of energy that got them all murmuring agreements. "We are the true, deviants and defilers. The ABSOLUTE!" he called louder than he had spoken so far. The crowd roared bacl an old Vaetian saying; Vakk Antha! Vermakk Plejanakk vosa ZACHARIAH! Zachariah himself roared in a sort of laughter at the mortal men's spin on the chant. Gremmy leaned back and smiled, allowing Zachariah to absorbed their glory.

Gremmy was not here solely to praise Zachariah however. Another demon god, one he had been praising his entire new life, had her due coming as well. He snapped a boney finger, calling for two zombies to meander into the room pulling a large cart, dead center of the stage. The lights were shut off, leaving only Gremmy in it's stead. The Lich lifted from the ground, floating as the only visible figure besides the blade of Zachariah. From his position in mid-air the Lich placed a hand on the cloth, hiding trembling sacrifices inside. He gave a tug, revealing not one cage, but three, one with a man, one with a woman, and one harboring a valkyrie. Two humans and an angel. Hisses and groans came up in droves suddenly, as if something utterly blasphemous had been done. Humans... in the CATHEDRAL? Gremmy allowed the hatred to flow until it slowed and lowered. Zachariah had sit up, now interested. "Three of our enemies. Three vangelists, creations of light in our city of eternal night. Three perfect sacrifices." Gremmy set upon the vangelist first, his body weak and unusually then. He could barely hold on to the bars. Gremmy opened the cage, barely enough room and the valkyrie woman fell to her knees before it. She whispered something, perhaps a prayer, as the Lich very slowly fell back to his feet before him. Gremmy grabbed his prey by it's hair, pulling the face up to view the den of deviants before him, hissing and spitting swears into his face. "I would see this soul committed to the afterlife, for all of eternity. I would see his form fit to Catherine, my patron, until the end of time! I would see our King pleased by his blood spilling! WHO WOULD DENY ME THIS RIGHT?" The church became a chorus of chants, calling for his dead. The Valkyrie continued his prayer, hopeful that Elessia would come to his aid. He would pray... until he found hsi throat open and a rive of red poured like a faucet onto the stage. A sacrificial dagger in the hand of Gremmy had silenced him. In the eyes of the lich, a green silhouette rose from it's body slowly. Gremmy, and few others in the crowd, whatched as the peaceful aura was suddenly snatched by a womanly hand, bringing out an inaudible scream as it was dragged below the stage. Catherine would have fun with him.

Gremmy threw his body, quite easily in fact, to the crowd, laughing as it was desecrated and the two humans screamed, trying their damnest to open the cage. They looked upon each other pleadingly, wishing they could help. Having been aprehended and torn on their honeymoon by Gremmy, their whole world had been torn upside down. Tears fell from her face, his was red with fury. All the fury of a human locked up like a dog. Gremmy chose him. He opened the cage, and the man furiously jumpde forward, swinging wildly at the smiling Lich. He flew right through him stumbling to the edge of the stage. His heart was taken by fear immediately as he saw the barking, snarling demons in the room before him. "Love. Such powerful bonds... yet so easily..." Gremmy trailed off as a screamed rang out behind the man, followed by the sound of melting flesh and steel. The human, stupified, turned to see ectoplasm falling from Gremmy's mouth as he finished vomiting acid on the woman. Her face, the front of her skull, most of her brain even, all the way down her cest to her stomach was totally gone. "Severed..." he finished as her fingers twitched. The human cried out her name, unimportant as her soul too was grabbed and sucked down into the void by a ghostly hand. The man fell to his knees, looking at her deformed body. If it could even still be called a body. She was dead and he was broken. "This will be the fate of not just the vangelists... but the Justoarianists and anyone who would stand against Zachariah!" he roared. While heartfelt, Gremmy owed true allegiance to one more, and while he had preached in his King's name, he had committed the soul of an angel, and taken a lover's life as well. As his last act, he took the still in shock human by his neck and lifted him, gazing into his eyes. He brought him close, his green, flaming eye sockets showing him his loves eternity in Catherine's hunt... before throwing him to the crowd to be taken apart as they saw fit. He turned to Zachariah as appluads, hooping, and happy cries shot out at him. He would bow, much as a performer would, to the God Kings slow clapping as well. He had seen enough, from Gremmy anyway. He would be the prophet of Vaet Nocturnum, weather he was truly loyal only to him or also to Catherine was of no consequence. She would have no reason to stand against him. She had none yet and no interest in slowing the stream of death he caused. Still, something about Gremmy promised to prove interesting should he allow him to remain.

                                                      Undeath
Liches are, as described, the risen dead of the more magical races oriented beings in the world. They have already learned to cheat death once, and will no doubt do it again. If a Lich is killed, but not properly excersized and/or laid to rest, then they will only remain dead for a certain amount of time, after which their soul, no their very essence will reconfigure elsewhere, bringing them back to life as strong as they were at death. Contact your guild captain if this happens, and they will decide what it will take for your character to recover and how long you must wait for it to happen. Also, upon reviving, you lose a rank, going from Master to Expert for example.

                                                      Aura of Fear
When near a Lich, anyone who isn't of an unholy inclination, be it class or bloodline, will be unable to ignore the overwhelming power coming from them, and by extension the natural fear struck into their hearts by their sight. Rpc's a rank higher, while unable to ignore this, can push it away and fight normally. RPC's two ranks higher are unmoved by this. At equal or one rank lower, hostile RPC's will be hesitant to fight a Lich, and by two ranks this feeling causes a sense of fear so great that enemies are forced to choose flight, rather than fight.

                                                      Ghost Form
The Lich can completely suppress their physical form and turn into a literal ghost for up to 5 posts, once per battle. In this form, they can only use nonphysical attacks, and in addition to that, they can only be harmed by magic. Once this ends, they cannot activate it again.

                                                      Poison/Disease Immunity
Lich's are simply immune to these things, as they are already dead.
