S'ar snorted slightly before taking a mouthful of his own klah. "Displeased is a fairly mild way of putting it. I get the feeling his unhappiness would be on another level." At the soft sound of protest, he placed the cup on the bench beside him before placing both hands on the warm hide.
Time to adjust though? He pondered that as his mind looked backwards; it had really only been a few seven days at best before the Hatching. Coupling that with the words of wisdom the Wingleader spoke made the weyrling chew on his bottom lip in consideration.
"It's strange, really. I never thought I would even Impress when I got here, much less to someone like Rineth here." He chuckled and rubbed a headknob as a head pushed against his stomach. "Ah well...I guess I've got to get use to it. Plus, if it means keeping him safe, Im willing to do what I can for him."

"You have nothing to fear," Kleos said with another smile and a little shake of her head. "Our healers here know how to care for atypical dragons, and the danger signs of illness particular to them. It will take more work on your part to raise him, and probably more checkups with the healers than either you or Rineth would like but I am confident that you will grow up into a fine fit pair." For once they were not lacking in that at least, with Trine still playing host to a large number of Malvren refugees and some from Benden too their wings flew strong and full. There was however the matter of the wherholders, seldom far from her mind. If more conflict came with that faction who knew how many might be lost before their time?
"And honestly, I didn't think I would Impress either," Kleos added, stretching her awareness out to her lounging dragon. "It is the greatest wonder on Pern to be so chosen, do you not think?"

"It's a wonder that's...." Shards, how did someone describe it? Knowing that you had that solid feeling of another, someone who loved you one hundred percent? And the feeling that nothing would come between you? "How can I put it into words? The Candidate Master told us of the bond several times but to look into his eyes for the time..."
Sighing, he shook his head and kept himself from getting all mushy. "But we do have a lot of work ahead of us. That much is certain. At least this way we can help out the Weyr as much as possible!"
"Lazy. You have to help to."

"I know!" Kleos made an expansive gesture with her glass and gave a short merry laugh. "I don't believe there are words to truly describe it, though many a Harper has tried. We know what we feel though even if we can't do it justice aloud." Belonging. Love. Trust. Devotion and... everything. It was just everything!
"I shall watch the progress you two make carefully," the wingleader added with a small nod, "I am sure you will do one another proud.... Mmh, now you are rather trapped there aren't you? Do you wish anything to eat or drink? I would be happy to fetch it for you." Wingleader she might be but today was S'ar's special day not hers, and she was quite willing to play waitress to him or any other weyrling at the feast set up to celebrate and honour them and their new dragons.

[Natai]
"Maybe next time I shall plead Holdgirl or friend of the riders," Natai ducked her head in a small smile as she spoke to Bereck. "It's not really a lie, you know." Then everything went cut short by the arrival of a small dragon, very close and personal.
She made yet another mental note that wearing bright colors to the Weyr attracted attention. If she'd known this ahead of time - well, she'd lamented that fact enough already. Next time, dark blue. Maybe dark blue or green later if she could find some way to get her hands on something. The goldrider looked down to the rogue green, momentarily too surprised to answer with the bright voice in her head. She reminded her vaguely of a young Iachixth, excited and full of curiousity, although Iachixth bounce around quite so much.
Dig for worms and eat cakes, burrow under the bathtub? Yes. She'd been reserved in who she talked to, at any rate.
"I wear them because I like them," she said after a moment to Kalteth, pleasant smile right back in place. It didn't appear automatic to the regular observer, genuine and mild and, yes, perhaps a little shy. "I don't know why other people aren't wearing them. And - ah, I'm actually not sure what a scarf is. It sounds very nice." Being a southern girl herself, Natai may have had read about scarves in one of her books but she'd not had a reason to wear one. She covered up well enough when flying and had no need to learn. She glanced up to C'ross again, walls still up in the form of her smile and calm eyes. "You and me both. It seems to be... Perhaps next time, we should both dress in gray."
And then I'saak, another tall and built man - from all intents and purposes, the little greens human? The first green. She wound about him and nuzzled, he offered her food, looking almost as awkward as Natai felt. She blinked back at him, one hand up to wave at I'saak. "Ah - thank you, Kh'men," she said, half-distracted, and looked to the young man. "I'm Natai. I hope you have a good night." She'd say more but he'd made it clear he needed to leave; it made sense with people everywhere after what she imagined to be a rather hectic day. She remembered Impressing. It took a lot out of a person. Or a dragon? She remembered being tired, full of stress, and hungry. So hungry.
Polite probably wasn't the best way to compliment baby dragons. Her cheeks heated up somewhat, head ducking. Natai caught a glimpse of Narisa's blush as well and that made her feel a little better. "Iachixth and I are doing well. I've not seen too much of the feast just yet, we were all just talking. Trine is very nice, from what I've seen. It's good to have energetic hatchlings, isn't it? I'm just sorry we weren't able to get here in time."
I aaaaaammmm.... Iachixth stretched out and looked about, chirping curiously. She flapped her wings and started off towards the Weyr proper, squeaking and bouncing as well as she could until she just stopped. Iachixth stretched up on her back legs and looked around, surveying and sending Cephieth what she saw. There! I am there. I don't know what a Weyr looks like, so you are there and I am a different there. Is Suunath-who-clutched-me coming? Are the babies coming? Can I meet the babies later?

T'lon continued to feed Poth, intending to head to C'ross after she'd finished this portion (no matter whether she wanted more, shich he was starting to think she always would; he didn't want to overfeed her after all). But to his surprise, Nimith came over and sat by him, though his rider did not come with him. Nimith says His is talking to a Junior Weyrwoman and doesn't want to leave her too quickly, Poth relayed to T'lon. She paused in her eating long enough to turn and warble a greeting at her brother. He asks if we'll be sharing living quarters?T'lon nodded his own greeting at Nimith, prompting Echo to sit up from his perch on T'lon's shoulder and chirp his own greeting. Probably just as well that the dragonet had come to him, especially if C'ross was talking to a weyrwoman. He'd be even more embarrassed to talk to a weyrwoman than he usually was about speaking. Yes, tell him that you and I will be sharing a dorm room with Nimith and his rider. You can tell him yourself, she responded as she went back to eating. T'lon frowned, prompting Echo to chirr his uncertainty. Well, theoretically he could...and he supposed that talking to a dragon seemed somehow less intimidating than talking to another person. He cleared his throat, then in a quiet voice he rasped, "Yeah, we'll be rooming with you."

Cai
How much harder could Cai frown? Or, how long did it take for the red head to snap? Wen seemed determined to find out. As was, she'd already shown a surprising amount of patience for the evening, helped by Miath of course. "Like I ever shaffing cared if what I wore matched my hair." She grumbled through gritted teeth. Cai wrapped her arms tight around her own body rather than give a hand to Wen.
"I don't know how dancing is an important skill to know." Cai snipped, the angry flush of her cheeks spreading to her ears and down her neck as she became more and more embarrassed. She barely even wore shorts and here she was with her freckly pale calves exposed to the world, there was a breeze across her collar bone that was making her all too aware of her dresses neckline, as well as her hemline. "I don't dance." She reiterated.

He will not interrupt. She always enjoys his company. Cepheith replied with a little less enthusiasm. She didn't quite understand where the less pleasant side of Pipith was coming from. But the Gold still cared greatly for her Bronze friend. As I always enjoy your company. Ceph added quietly and sweetly.
No matter how hard she tried, Narisa couldn't keep the somewhat shy smile that crept along her lips as Set'al appeared. She stepped closer to her Bronzerider friend, giving his shoulder a small bump. "Thank you." She managed not to squeak, maintaining a professional tone. For a brief moment.
Until she remembered she wasn't sure how he felt about their... friendship-that-could-be-more?
You are doing it again, Narisamine.
Doing what?!
Fretting over silly things!
Narisa chose not to respond to that and instead glanced at her friend. "I'm glad you're here." She said quietly, slipping her hand to lightly graps his arm. He so was not running away!
"Set'al, this is Goldrider Natai of Iachixth. And... a few of our newly Impressed!"
Cepheith snickered at her rider, focusing on what Iachixth showed her. She used her own knowledge of her home terrain - plus that of what her rider remembered for her - to pinpoint where the younger Gold currently was. Ah, I know where you are! Suunath may come if she wishes, but I don't know if she will. She may remain to watch the little ones. Cepheith made her way carefully from the main festivities and other dragons until she had enough room to spread her wings and take to the skies. It was a short flight, but she found Iachixth right where she suspected her to be.
With a soft bugle to announce herself, Cepheith landed gently against the ground, eyes swirling bright blue at seeing her fellow Gold. Look how much bigger you have gotten! And fine looking wings to fly with. I shall show you around the Weyr. And then you can meet the babies!

[V'ail and Crimson Lanterneth] "I think... we might have traveled there once. " V'ail mused as he handfed Lanterneth. He looked at Syriacuth and smiled. "She's fine, Lan just tires easily." He relaxed as she took more pieces of meat from his hand, daintily lipping them into her mouth with a focus on being as neat as possible.
Lanterneth sent and chewed on her meat, swallowing and gave a soft pleased sound. She opened one eye at her blue brother and snorted. < You don't need to hover so.> She sighed and got onto all fours, opening her eyes and straightened up slightly. She was tired not dying.
[Wen]
"You have two left feet?" Wen questioned, and glanced down at them in question, seeing pale skin and freckles and noted to make sure he placed his feet away from her boots. "I'm starting to take this as a challenge. At least let me teach you a single dance." Wen seemed rather immune to the steady frown tugging on Cai's lips.

R'an smiled, "Good, She's such a beauty I hope she'll be alright." He said as he finished cutting up a good chunk and actually placing the meat closer to Syriacuth who stepped back as Lanterneth scolded him. The blue took the bites and chomped them down though kept an eye on his little sister. 'If you think so sister.' He said as he sat back on his haunches, his wings relaxing against his back while his tail swayed back and forth.
R'an watched the two as he wiped the blood off his fingers. "Are you looking forward to the training?" He asked V'ail. "I was in the Beast craft so I wonder if it will be any similar?"

Ah, there was I’saak! At last. C’ross smiled at him and shifted over to allow him space to stand with his dragon, offering his friend a brief clap on the shoulder in congratulatory greeting. “Glad you could join us,” he said quietly. “Seems we’re the center of attention.” Which, indeed, the group around them was only continuing to grow despite his and Natai’s best efforts not to attract undue attention.
If it was strange that C’ross had been so casually associating with Ellibreth up until a moment ago, it didn’t seem to have occurred to him at all. Nor did it seem to have occurred to him that he now had a goldrider on one arm and a greenrider on the other – a rather ambitious position for a brand-new bluerider, if made somewhat moot by his status as a weyrling. Whatever Bereck might have thought was occurring with Natai and C’ross, he needn’t be concerned. It was old habit for C’ross to take up guarding whoever was nearby and seemed in need of it, as ingrained as a healer’s urge to fix injured people. And right now Natai seemed like the person in the room most in need of a big meatshield to scowl at anyone who made her uncomfortable.
Fortunately, it seemed that Narisa and Natai were on good terms. C’ross allowed himself to relax a little, even when another man approached. Another bronzerider – but Natai wasn’t getting uneasy the way she had when Z’fer had looked over, so it was probably safe. He permitted his attention to wander away from Natai and onto the greenrider at his side. “Did you find who you were looking for?” he asked I’saak.
Thank you, ma’am, Nimith told Cepheith, angling a curious green-blue eye back towards the crowd he’d vacated. Don’t worry about my rider, he’s fine. He just doesn’t know how to socialize with those of higher rank. Which was something that Nimith intended to fix, but not right now. There would be time.
When T’lon addressed him directly, Nimith gave the greenrider his full attention, head cocked curiously on one side, but he relayed his response via Poth. This situation was – well, slightly unorthodox, but that was no reason to forget one’s sense of common courtesy. My rider is used to sharing living space with many people in the guard barracks. I don’t believe he will be any trouble. Perhaps we can even help one another.

Becka ate slowly, not really talking to anyone. She was still trying to absorb the fact she'd Impressed Phasianth and getting used to his..... enthusiasm ... She ate quite a lot too which surprised her She supposed some if it was Phasianth's vague hunger that was growing because although she felt rather full after a while, she did still feel rather hungry. "Phasianth, are you hungry?" she asked her brightly marked Blue who had been half asleep, resting his head on her knee, his eyes half closed as her free hand rubbed at his eye ridges. He gave a draconic smile when Kalteth came over. He hummed as she swayed then turned to Becka when she moved away. he asked her but before she could reply he'd plucked the memory from her head he said before turning his head to the Weyrwoman, as did Becka. Nothing new for her there, she hadn't intended to do ANYTHING that would possibly break the bond between her and Phasianth, even if she couldn't quite believe he was real... When firestone was mentioned Becka's stomach flipped ...oh ...but Firestone chewing meant Fighting Thread... not something she had thought about at all and the very thought of it made her feel sick to her stomach. She'd helped Bereck patch Threadscore victims up and the wounds weren't pretty. Becka just shielded her thoughts and rubbed his eye ridges and planted a kiss on his nose. "Nothing Phasianth, nothing.... let's go get you fed shall we?" She stood and brushed the crumbs off her outfit. "Would you tell Berath to tell Bereck we'll come back over when things have calmed down a little? There's rather a crowd around him at the moment and that there's something i'd like to discuss with him" Phasianth crooned, nuzzled her and passed the message along to the chunky, scarred Green.

Kindra waited until Narisa had made her speech before moving over to the feasting tables, Seating herself at the head where the Bronzeriders were she ate sparingly. Enjoying the wine despite the fact it wasn't a good Benden White. She paid as little attention towards the rider of her Suunath's golden daughter as possible. Easier that Narisa talk with her. Kindra thought the girl was a silly fool for staying at Holdtown, putting her Gold's life at risk every day.
Suunath on the other hand was pleased her daughter had come. She hadn't visited since that first time due to Kindra's unwillingness to speak with the gold's rider. She returned Cephieth's nuzzle "I will watch your hatchlings a while longer, then i will come and join you" She yawned a wide yawn, she liked it here, when she remembered Benden through Kindra it had mostly been cold. She liked the warmth and the sunshine here.
After a short while she grew bored, she was tired but it wouldn't be advisable to be caught napping when Kindra was in a mood. Instead she got up and shook herself off. flaring her wings up to stretch them. She looked out towards the Weyr but couldn't see Cepheith or Iachixth "I shall join your exploring of Trine Weyr" she sent to both gold dragons. "Tell me where you are so i may join you"
Kindra noticed her dragon getting up and moving off. "Where are you going Suunath?" she asked "I am going to show Iachixth around with Cephieth. I will be back before it's time to return to our weyr Kindramine" she soothed, sending a bolt of love down the link between them, "Do try to have fun mine, the hatchlings are strong and Tyeth's is surely around" Kindra frowned a little but gave a resigned sigh. Suunath was right, she should relax a bit. She looked for N'mol among the Bronzerider faces but couldn't see him, it didn't mean he wasn't here, just that he wasn't at the table right now. She could find him later after she'd eaten.

[Shenja and Kalteth] commented Kalteth to Natai. They were pretty, indeed. And they smelled nice, too! Kalteth would have to get a scarf. This was definite. But Shenja was watching from across the table, watching the whole interaction very carefully. Something told him that Kalteth was treading on tricky ground.
He smiled for her, and only for her it seemed. She bobbed her head to the nice colorful lady, she wiggled back around and under the table, her head popping back up near Shenja, who dropped some food into her waiting mouth and stroked her nose. "You know, I feel a bit jealous when you do that..." commented Shenja.
"Talk to other people" He was being politic. He felt wary when she did that as well, but he didnt want to mention that part. Kalteth nudged him in apology, "Because I want to be the only one to hear you, of course..."
She seemed sad, and Shenja felt his heart break a bit. "If you want to..." he hesitated, giving her a kiss on the nose, "I suppose its okay."
"Yes."
The subject had been changed so quickly that Shenja could only reel a little in delighted giddiness. "Sure. V'ail and I are roomates, right?" She put her forepaws on Shenja's chair and craned around, looking for her crimson sibling. Shenja ate a bit more of the food- good stuff, all of it. "I should probably talk to V'ail more, since we'll be rooming and all." he said thoughtfully, mostly to himself. Kalteth supported this idea.

"I am sure she will be fine. I have Naanash and he flooded me with all sort of information to keep her healthy. He's a sort of healer." V'ail reached over to find something to clean his hands off with and continued to clean up a bit of blood that had spilled out on the crimson's maw. 'Better?'
Lanterneth preened and paused, ears flickering at the sudden chatter and peered over. "It might be. We will be butchering things it seems, considering what they eat," V'ail said and stroked over the delicate skin. "Ooh, it seems we are getting even more company."
