BlackDemiVeemon gave her a wary look. "Dependsh. Who'sh ashking?"
BlackGuilmon rolled his eyes and walked over to the little guy. "Someone who has business with him."
The little guy was about to retort, only for him to notice the pendant around the larger Digimon's neck. He immediately became much more cooperative, grinning. "Shure thing!" With that, he scurried off, and BlackGuilmon and Hyokomon followed.

SaberLeomon chuckled. "He's not as easily roused as I am. Try this." With that, he let out a roar, causing all the fainted Digimon to not only wake up, but also get thrown back by the force of the blast until they were all mixed up with the conscious Digimon and tangled up in a pile. SaberLeomon chuckled again before turning to Christa and Leo. "Now, follow me, you two, and I'll lead you to the Test of Will."
Leo blinked. "I thought we were doing this for the Crest of Determination?'
SaberLeomon nodded, grinning. "Aye. 'Test of Will' just rolls off the tongue better. 'Course, it's a good walk away, so if you want, I can tell you a bit about Liollmon to pass the time."

Jimmy followed Evelyn to the village, suppressing another surge of jealousy at Sunmon. Once inside, it quickly became clear that this was a village of fire-based Digimon. Meramon, Candlemon, FlaWizarmon, Volcamon, Salamandermon, Flamedramon - if it was fire-based, it was there. There were even a few Coronamon running around.

Soon they reached a small stone hut at the edge of the underground village, and BlackDemiVeemon knocked on the door enthusiastically. "Big bwother, there'sh shome people here to shee you!" he called into the house.
There was the sound of footsteps before the hut's door opened, revealing a black ExVeemon. "Yeah? Whaddaya want?" he asked coolly.
BlackGuilmon smirked. "We need to get something from DexDorugamon. I heard you're the one we should ask for backup."
ExVeemon glanced over at BlackGuilmon, then smirked right back. "All right; I'm all in favor of screwing over that a*****e. Lead the way."

The SaberLeomon chuckled as they started walking. "Oh, don't worry - from what I can see, your boyfriend there'll do just fine."
Leo, meanwhile, was looking around the village and noticed something... "There aren't any other Liollmon," he noted.
SaberLeomon nodded. "Aye; the fact of the matter is, this village only gets one Liollmon every ten generations or so. When they do, they always become the leader of the village... in fact, about the Liollmon in the village records who hasn't become a leader is your partner." He grinned, and Liollmon grinned right back. "He always has been quite the adventurous little trooper - energetic, too. Even in the Digi-egg, he was quite the handful!"

Sparky blushed, looking rather guilty. "Well... maybe a little," he admitted - though a large part of it was also that Sunmon was getting more attention from her than he was. Granted, he knew it was silly to be jealous of a Digimon, but still, he couldn't exactly help it.

BlackGuilmon just closed his eyes to hide his exasperation, trying to stay calm. "Sandra, while I get that you think he's cute, we really should be going."
"It'sh okay, I don't mind," BlackDemiVeemon assured the dragon with a grin, obviously loving the attention.

Leo frowned. "Are you implying I couldn't?" he asked her, looking a little indignant at the perceived slight against his skills.
SaberLeomon chuckled. "Relax, lad, I don't think she meant any insult to your skills." He then turned to Christa. "And to answer your question, not a river - an ocean. Took us a whole week to find him - he ended up in a Whamon's stomach. Then, of course, there was that incident where he got picked up and carried off by an Aquilamon. Then there was the time he nearly got turned into an omelet.... oh, I could tell you all sorts of stories about the things Liollmon got up to - and I've got even more about after he hatched!"

Jimmy blushed, pointedly ignoring FanBeemon's gestures and attempts to 'help'. "Th-thanks..." He'd never really gotten a compliment of that sort from a girl before, since he'd always been regarded as a bit of a nerd back home.

BlackGuilmon just looked exasperated and amused, motioning for the black ExVeemon to follow before heading back to the elevator, pressing the up button once they were all inside.

Fortunately, that seemed to mollify Leo.
SaberLeomon grinned. "Oh, that goes back when he was still a Digi-egg. See, Liollmon had this little habit of thrashing around in his egg; naturally, this caused the egg to roll around quite a lot of the time. One day, Liollmon's egg somehow managed to roll all the way past the two Leomon guarding it at the time, through the village gates, and straight into an Ogremon. And since there's not exactly any love lost between the Leomon species and the Ogremon species... well, Ogremon intended to make an omelet out of his Digi-egg. However, that didn't exactly work too well; when we finally managed to find him, the Ogremon was chasing the egg around since it wouldn't stop moving long enough for him to cook it!" SaberLeomon chortled, obviously amused.

Sparky blushed harder and quickly followed her.
The WarGreymon shook his head in amusement. "I'm afraid the only thing that Crest is good for is Digivolving; however, there's an inn owned by a BlueMeramon that gives free lodging and food to travelers."

Soon they reached the outskirts of the village where they were attacked earlier, and BlackGuilmon looked around warily. "All right everyone, be on your guard and do not let yourself be ambushed, because with DexDorugamon, being surprised is equivalent to being very, very dead... as in the kind of dead where you most definitely do NOT form a Digi-egg."

"The inside of my egg was dark, cramped and boring," was Liollmon's matter-of-fact reply. "About the only two pieces of entertainment I had in there were storytelling time and listening to the others scramble in a mad dash to try and catch me."
Leo gave him a deadpan look. "So in other words, you wreaked ridiculous amounts of chaos and mayhem, most likely giving SaberLeomon here several heart attacks... because you were bored?"
Liollmon rolled his eyes. "Don't be silly... SaberLeomon was too busy laughing his a** off to have any heart attacks. Besides," he added as an afterthought, "I was actually just trying to break out of the egg. The entertainment was just a side benefit. Besides, nobody got hurt."
Leomon stared at the little lion Digimon a moment, not quite sure what to say, before deciding not to dignify that with a response. With that, he turned to see that SaberLeomon had stopped, and looked over at their destination... only for his jaw to drop in shock.
What was in front of them could not be described as an obstacle course. Obstacle courses did not have walls with constantly shifting spikes. They did not have spiked pits or ropes that occasionally channeled surges of electricity, they did not have literal minefields, they did not have ziplines with deadly spikes stabbing themselves in the zipline's path randomly, they did not have pools of boiling hot water with gun turrets stationed all around, and they most certainly did NOT have a MadLeomon at the finish line.
If this was any sort of obstacle course, it was most definitely not one Leo had ever heard of.
SaberLeomon turned and beamed at Leo and Liollmon, both of which were staring in shocked horror. "Right then; what you two need to do is climb the spiked wall, jump into the pool, swim to the other side while avoiding the gunfire, navigate the minefield, climb the electrified ropes to the start of zipline, use the zipline, use the other electrified ropes to swing across the pit of spikes, and then defeat the MadLeomon. Then you get the Crest of Determination. Sound good?" How SaberLeomon managed to say all that with a grin on his face was a mystery... Leo suspected the Digimon was a closet sadist, though.

Jimmy blushed even harder as he felt Evelyn's hand in his own, but was most definitely not complaining as he walked with her to the inn.

"I used to have two brothers, not one," was all ExVeemon said as he glanced around.
Naturally, it was at this point that a Cannonball attack soared toward the group, missing them by mere centimeters and crashing into a nearby abandoned house.

Leo took a deep breath before exhaling as he took his place at the starting line. "...You ready for this, Liollmon?"
Liollmon slowly shook his head as he joined his friend. "Probably not... I'm gonna try anyway, though."
Leo nodded slowly, tensing as he watched the wall of moving spikes. "...GO!" With that, he sprinted forward, using the spikes as footholds and handholds even as Liollmon followed his lead, the two heading up the wall quickly.

The BlueMeramon gave the group a smile. "Right; we don't get very many tourists around here since it's so close to a volcano, so it's not like the expenses cost me very much. How many rooms do you want?"
FanBeemon jumped into the conversation at that point. "We'll be taking two rooms - one for the two lovebirds here, one for us Digimon." Then he noticed Hagurumon's annoyed look. "Well, any more than two rooms would be overdoing it, and do you want to listen to those two when they get around to making babies?" he asked pointedly, misinterpreting what Hagurumon was irritated about.

There was a tense silence for a moment as the group stayed on guard. Then...
"MeTaL CaSt!"
BlackGuilmon yelped as DexDorugamon attacked, just barely managing to avoid being impaled by the Digimon's metal arms. "Attack, attack, and for the love of Fanglongmon, don't let those arms anywhere near you! Pyro Grenade!"
"X-Laser!" The two attacks blasted DexDorugamon, though unfortunately they didn't seem to do very much damage.

The duo managed to reach the top of the wall, Leo helping Liollmon up the last few spikes, before the two jumped into the pool, swimming across as fast as they could and narrowly dodging gunfire.

Poor Sparky was blushing heavily at the bit about making babies as they were showed to their rooms. In a rare show of boldness, he gave Evelyn a quick peck on the cheek before heading to his room with his two partners, blushing even harder.

Unfortunately, DexDorugamon was a lot faster than they were and easily dodged the attacks. It nearly managed to impale Hyokomon, but fortunately the little chicken managed to deflect it with his Karatakewari attack. It then once again vanished in a blur of speed, only to reappear and knock BlackGuilmon over. "MeTaL CaSt!"
BlackGuilmon closed his eyes and waited for the end, knowing there was no way the others would be fast enough to help him... only for nothing to happen. He opened one eye, puzzled, and realized that DexDorugamon's claw had stopped mere inches from BlackGuilmon's head... and that the larger Digimon's eyes were fixed on the pendant BlackGuilmon was wearing. 'Ohshitohshitohshitohshit... I was hoping he wouldn't notice that!'
ExVeemon was about to jump in and attack when DexDorugamon spoke, the creature's eyes still on the pendant. "...LoRd ChAoSgAlLaNtMoN?"
BlackGuilmon immediately started seeing red at that. "NO! THAT'S NOT ME, NOT ANY MORE! PYRO GRENADE, PYRO GRENADE, PYRO GRENADE!" The rapid-fire Pyro Grenades, now fueled by BlackGuilmon's panicked rage, were enough to actually give DexDorugamon a few wounds before the Digimon zipped away again.
"No... No, I tHiNk ThAt YoU aRe VeRy MuCh LoRd ChAoSgAlLaNtMoN. OnLy He Is AbLe To WeAr ThE hAzArD sEaL - tHe SaMe SeAl YoU aRe WeArInG aRoUnD yOuR nEcK."
Hyokomon gave his friend a confused look, blinking innocently. "Wha's he talkin' 'bout?"
"A part of my past that I'd very much hoped would stay buried six feet under where it belongs," was BlackGuilmon's curt and cold reply.

Leo and Liollmon soon reached the other side of the pool, Leo limping slightly - apparently one of the guns had managed to get him in the leg. Still, he muscled through the pain and started up the electrified metal ropes, wincing and gritting his teeth as he felt the occasional electrical shock.
Liollmon looked at his partner with concern, but nevertheless followed, though oddly enough he seemed to absorb the electric shocks as opposed to being hurt by them...
SaberLeomon noticed the way Liollmon was absorbing the electricity without the slightest hint of pain. 'Hoh? So he's that close already...'

Jimmy just went and laid on his bed, blushing more and more heavily by the second as he wondered where the heck he got the courage to kiss Evelyn. He was so deep in thought that he didn't even notice FanBeemon grinning at him like a maniac.
