Kokoro's eyes rose up from her meal to meet the welcoming smile of Atsuma. He was one of the few in the village that actually treated Kokoro as if she was another human being, whether she was more like a shark or not. Being raised as an Inuzuka meant she was a shinobi and she wished more people could see her as that, rather than anything else. "Hello there, Atsuma. What brings you to the hospital?" Kokoro scooted over, wincing a little in pain from her wounds, so that she could offer him a seat next to her by patting the ground. Tochisame, when acknowledging their friend, lit up. A goofy, dog grin spread across his face and his tongue flopped out with his happy panting. The shark-wolf's tail flopped up, down, and all around behind him as he showed Atsuma just how happy he was to see him.

Placing his plate of rice on the table, Atsuma bent over to pet Tochisame. Shark skin felt extremely smooth if you pet with the scales. If someone were to pet against the scales they would most like get cut or a very bad rug burn. Once the little pet session was over Atsuma lifted himself up to see her invitation. "Thank you very much Kokoro." Sitting down he noticed her pained expression. It was obvious to him she wasn't here to visit someone or work like him. He wanted to ask her what had happened, but it would be rude to ignore hers. "I came here looking for someone, but they are far to stealthy for me to find hehe...But the real question is, what in the world happened to you?" He asked before taking some of the rice in his plate to eat. It had no special flavoring at all, just plain white rice.
"That's a good question..." Kokoro looked up at the sky and smiled. She was just glad to be alive right now. She turned to her meal and took a few bites before beginning her story. "Well, I was training in the forest when some shinobi attacked. They had got into the village and planned to scout it out, but they thought that taking me hostage would keep them safe if they were found out. So that's when they attacked me and I was trying to get away." Kokoro sighed. It was a rough experience for her, but she did what she could to buy time for someone to come and take care of them. She actually didn't even know what happened after she blacked out. "I did defeat two of the four of them. I didn't kill any of them, but I'm sure they wouldn't be able to get away. I don't know what became of the archer or the one that hit me. The reason I'm where I am right now is because the one that got me actually launched a lightning bolt into my chest. It was strong and I'm surprised that I survived that hit. Anyways, that pretty much what happened. How has your training been coming along, Atsuma?"

Atsuma couldn't help, but to chuckle lightly at the girls story. It was what he assumed to be her first time facing death and actual combat head on yet she talked about it as if it was just some thing that happened. "You a very interesting girl Kokoro. Many gennin would have become traumatized by such a thing, but you take it with stride." Taking another bite out of his white rice Atsuma couldn't help, but wonder if he had stayed in the forest maybe he could've helped her. His first time in combat could've been shared with her, but his first time with death had already happened long ago. "My training is coming along pretty well Kokoro thanks for asking. I still have much to work on however. Now i am just taking a break to fufill some overdue missions." He couldn't stop thinking about the attackers. While he spoke his eyes could not stop focusing on the pain she was obviously feeling. Revenge wasn't something Atsuma believed in, but something surely must have been done. "How long will you be in here for?" He asked finishing the rice completely.
"I only need to be here as long as I feel that I need to. I could have left hours ago, but I thought that maybe I shouldn't tempt myself by leaving and possibly pushing my body too far. Training is something that I enjoy doing with Tochisame here, after all." Kokoro and Tochisame both finished their meals soon after she spoke. Kokoro stood up and then stacked her dishes with Tochisame's bowl. "And also, I believe that I should take any experience of mine and learn from it. It is true that I've been living in terror for my whole life. Something like this can only make me stronger." Kokoro reflected for a moment on the torture some of the other village members and even other Inuzuka had put her through because of her father being a Hoshigaki and her mother being an Inuzuka whom raised her without the father. She was always looked upon as if she was an abomination. "Well once you finish up your food, I would be happy to join you in doing some missions. I was thinking of doing something like an escort or a delivery task. What did you have planned?"

Atsuma didn't think it was ok for someone to be out so shortly after battle, but he knew she was a strong kunoichi that would march forward especially with her companion by her sude. "Well if you say you're ok it can't be helped." He smiled jokingly before getting up with his empty plate. The proposition about some sort of mission was very interesting indeed. He hadn't finished all of his D ranked assignments, but they could wait. An escort mission could go very smoothly or very bumpy along the way. When the boy returned he looked down at the seated friends and said, "well if you two are ready for an escort mission then I would be more than happy to assist you along the way."
The crowd seemed to just part on its own as two figures approached. One of them was the Jaegerbomb, a tall red-headed explosion waiting to happen. He was dressed as usual, shirtless, pants and boots decked out with various pouches and holsters. There were a few differences today. Most notably was the lack of the giant weapon on his back and the absence of his sickles. THe greatest difference was the smile that was in place of Luka's usual scowl. He was laughing heartily and apparently enjoying himself. His hand was holding that of a smaller girl, not even half his size. She was very slim, with blond hair that fell past her knees. Her eyes were a piercing blue, so pale they almost seemed grey. She was motioning with her hands and telling a tale to Luka. Anyone who knew him would know that this was his little sister Jana. If there was one thing Luka loved as much as Jashin it was his little sister. "And after he got his leg stuck in the hole, I took his head right off!" Jana said with a child-like jubilance. Luka smiled at her and patted her on her head. He stopped walking and squatted down in front of her, placing one hand on his symbol of Jashin. "Remember Jana, it his for his glory that we do this, not our own." Luka said, kissing his medallion and nodding his head at the girl. Jana stared back at him intently, absorbing his words. She sighed and finally nodded her head in agreement.
Luka continued through the area, finally saying goodbye to his younger sister as she arrived at an academy for youngsters. He had chosen not to partake in the tutelage of the younger children. His superiors had deemed his tactics too bloody for the common person. Luka honestly did not mind. Children were full of fear and hesitation. Luka had little patience for people like that, regardless of their age. He pushed on through the area and noticed someone he had seen before. It was that boy, the one who could move in an instant. Luka raised a hand in greeting and pushed through the gathering of citizens. "Hey, how's it going?" Luka inquired, clearly acting differently than he normally did. His younger sister always put him in a wonderful mood. Luka turned to the blue lady and some...thing. Luka enjoyed animals. They had a predatory instinct that most people lacked. He really loved everything about them. "Hello, I am Luka Jaeger. I've seen two others like yourself, brothers who revel in battle. But I haven't seen anything like your..." Luka was unsure if he should call it a dog. Or a wolf. Or a fish. "Partner. Is it okay if I touch him?" He asked politely, really wanting to know what it felt like.

As she was checking her surroundings to make sure she hadn't left anything behind, a new presence came into the area. It made Kokoro uneasy. Turning to its direction, Kokoro met the gaze of Jaegerbomb. There weren't many in the village that hadn't heard of him. He was a known Jashinist and had definitely earned his rank of chuunin. When he approached, Tochisame got a bit on edge and Kokoro's cheerful demeanor vanished as if she hadn't any enjoyment at all just before. She hated people in general and she had never learned to be familiar with Jaeger. When he asked to pet Tochisame, Kokoro shook her head in decline. "He doesn't like it when he's touched by unfamiliar hands. Maybe another time if he learns who you are first." Tochisame stepped backwards a bit and then hid behind Atsuma and Kokoro. It might have been a lingering scent of blood or just a sixth sense, bu Tochisame didn't want to be too close to Jeager whatsoever.

Atsuma wasn't the best a sensing chakra, but he definately noticed Tochisame's change of behavior. He was about to help Kokoro leave when a familiar voice called for his attention. Turning around with the same smile that Atsuma had used to irritate Luka the boy bowed lightly and greeted the chuunin. "Greetings senpai." He said before looking back at Kokoro. He tried giving her a look of reassurance. That she could relax at the presence of Luka. "What brings you here?" He asked suddenly realizing the mans change in attitude from the first time they had met. Something good must've happened to him and that meant Atsuma was happy. The world was far to dark for its own good some times. "Me and my friend Kokoro were about to leave on a mission." Atsuma wasn't sure if Luka would be good company for Kokoro in the state she was in, but his manners simply could not allow him not to invite Luka. "Would you like to join us? I'm certain you'd be very helpful to us gennin."
Luka nodded his head understandingly to Kokoro and Tochisame. Clearly someone was not a people person. It took awhile for Luka himself to care to be around others. Most of them were ungodly heathens and blasphemers, but there were some worthy people around. Atsuma was an interesting person, and Luka actually looked up to Shinji. Part of him enjoyed Elizabeth, the parts that were not being constantly impaled by her at least. There was no way to force oneself upon another when it came to friendship. It would have to come in time. So instead Luka turned his attention to Atsuma and began to speak. "My little sister attends toe Academy. I bring her here everyday." Luka said with an evident sense of pride. His sister brought much joy to his life.The mention of a mission made Luka's lip twitched. It had been so dull around here since the Kage and Shinji left on some meeting. Luka had been put on double shifts for guard duty and had had very little time to exercise his abilities. "I would love to, we are brother's in arms. And I have yet to please my Lord Jashin today." The anticipation was clear in Luka; he loved a good fight.

The situation wasn't really moving towards an outcome that Kokoro was pleased with. In fact, she was secretly protesting the Jashinist accompanying them on the mission. She didn't want there to be a chance of anything happening during the mission that could cause unnecessary bloodshed. She had already shed blood earlier when defending herself in the forest, and she didn't think that a Jashinist would contain themselves very well if the mission involved not taking life. "I suppose he can come along, too. I don't have any interest in learning from a known murderer, though. I'll stick to my plans of self-improvement." Kokoro turned away from the two and knelt down to pet Tochisame. "And if you're bringing him along, then go ahead and pick the mission. I have a feeling that I might be running into that Kiseru boy if I don't get out of the village today." Kokoro just had a gut feeling that she'd end up running into the one person she felt legitimate hate for in this village, Sukōchi Kiseru. She wanted to leave as soon as she could before he ran into her.

The situation was evolving very fast. At one point the room was very peaceful filled with the aura of friendship. Now a dark and awkward cloud hovered above Atsuma, Kokoro, Luka and Tochisama. Why couldn't people get along with eachother like Atsuma did with everyone he met? Even though he himself was human the boy some times felt very out of place some times. Luka had a definite point they were all "brothers" in arms. "Good good. I'm very thankful." Atsuma wasn't so sure Kokoro felt the same way. The way she spoke at her senior was filled with sass. She even called Luka a murderer. Hopefully she didn't mean it in regards to his religion. He wanted to calm Kokoro down, but it would probably be even worse at that point. She seemed in a hurry to leave. "Well I don't actually have any escort assignments on me hehe...Luka you wouldn't happen to have any would you?" He asked hoping the mood would calm down sooner or later. The name Kokoro spoke of was foreign to Atsuma. It was possibly one of their class mates, but he only remembered those he considered to be "good" people.
Luka slowly turned his head to Kokoro and gave her a long look, not unkind nor angry. He was determining whether or not that was a slight against his god. Outsiders did not understand, they only saw the blood. No one knew the love of Jashin like Luka; the feeling of earning his favor, of living for a higher purpose. "Yes, I am a murderer." Luka said very calmly, letting each word roll out. "And I do it for good reason. Perhaps one day you shall see, girl." Luka finished, turning away from her and back to Atsuma. It worked out better for him that she did not want to learn from someone so bloodthirsty. Luka had little patience when it came to teaching others. But if they had been in separate places Luka would not have turned down such a chance. He had learned from Shinji, a man who had probably killed twice as much as Luka had in his life. That man was a living legend, one who took many lives to get to such a place. In a world such as the one Luka perceived he lived in; It was murder, or die. "As a matter of fact I happened to have taken a look at the mission board on my way out of the office today. There was one mission asking for guards on a herbalists journey into the jungles." Everyone knew the jungles were a dangerous place to go alone. Every animal seemed to want to have you for dinner and most of the plants wanted that as well. There were also people who lived there, people who ate other people. "This herbalist is searching for very rare and specific plants deep in the jungle, and is bringing a group of three students along with him. All we have to do is bring them back alive. Sound good?" Luka said, raising an eyebrow and looking between the two of them.

As Kokoro heard the confession of being a murderer come from the Jashinist, she sighed. She knew that he felt as if what she said was a slight against Jashin. She actually respected the religion with the utmost tolerance. She just did not agree with the methods of some of the followers, especially with what she knew about Luka from hearsay. He mentioned a mission. It seemed like a pretty decent mission to go on as a first assignment. She nodded in agreement when Luka asked for a confirmation. "I like the sound of that mission. Atsuma? How does that sound to you?"

Atsuma spaced out during their conversation. He couldn't stop staring at an old lady that held a piece of candy in the palm of her left hand. She seemed completely confused as to what to do with the thing. Atsuma loved to over think normal things that he saw in piblic, but some times it just happened. Was the old lady trying to remember something from her past? A long since gone childhood which only consists of shattered memories. Luka and Kokoro's words didn't register at all. The mission that Luka proposed would have gotten the boy thrilled. Being surrounded by nature was something he enjoyed dearly. Especially when the missiom involved finding rare plants. His eyes suddenly blinked as he snapped out of his self imposed trance. Kokoro was asking him something, but he had no idea what she meant. He only heard, "how does that sound to you?" Rubbing the back of his head Atsuma tried to play it off by saying, "Why yes...Sounds great..."
