❝..The White Smoke..❞
┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓

As the two adult jounin went back and forth, Issho couldn't help but be amused by the whole situation. The tension and irritability between Zael and Kasai was very entertaining, to say the least. Something in Issho's mind, however, felt that the two jounin were only half-joking. What if they really got into a fight? Who would win? Issho, not knowing either of them or their abilities, had no clue. When questioned about his name once again by the smoking jounin, the young boy looked to the man; they were about the same height. This man, from Issho's observations, was very vocal on about his thoughts and about what he wanted. Issho, however, couldn't shake the feeling that this man was also incredibly strong. All that bark required a bit of bite, right? The tattooed boy adjusted the large gourd he was wearing on his back; he remembered the days when it was almost unbearable to carry around. He remembered the days in the academy where the other kids would make fun of it one minute, then awe at its abilities the next. Simply put, Issho was a genius. His abilities usually shut people asking about his gourd or tattoos up.

"My name is Issho. And no, I don't have a squad yet. The Academy didn't anticipate my early graduation, so they're still looking for one." Because the orphan boy had skipped ahead a few years, he end up entering a class with an odd number of students. When he joined, that number became even and not divisible by three. The instructors offered to let Issho be on his own for now while they searched up an appropriate solution to his problem. The boy, ever since, was training by himself and his friends when he had the chance, but he did admit that having a sensei would probably be a bit better. That, and he can finally go on missions.

Listening to all of this talk about killing started to stir a battle hunger in Issho. He wanted to train, then fight. It had been a while since he had, and honestly, he wanted to know if he was still good at it. But, with the Yukikage there, he expected more important business to take place. "And why wouldn't he be able to kill you in your sleep? Are you that strong?"

Everyone is little to him…? Aurora wondered to herself for a moment before vocalizing it. “What do you mean by that? Zeal-kun and Issho seem to be of a similar height to you. Do you mean that we are little because of out skill differences?” she asked. She listened to his response about killing Zeal in his sleep and then Zeal’s retort saying that there was no way that could happen. “I agree…it is a cowardly to kill someone in their sleep. I think it’s wrong to kill at all though.” She said as she looked past everyone and up to the sky. She heard Zeal laughing but ignored it. She could tell that he wasn’t all there at times but he wasn’t a terrible person.
She felt something was wrong with Issho, that there as a fire burning inside of him. “Are you ok Issho-kun?” she asked but her eyes never left the sky.

Ruri'iro stayed out of Zael and Kasai's arguing. There was no point to interfere unless they were really going to fight. And even if they were, Ruri'iro was confident they would realize the futility of fighting amongst themselves. He can't have friction amongst his villagers as it detracts from the focus he wants them to have: camaraderie that went beyond individual hatred and distrust, to work with each other for a brighter future in a land eternally blasted by ice and snow. It's his goal, and although he might not fully reach it at the end of his lifetime, he will make sure other generations will carry on his work.

With the arguing between the two Jounins, the questions of the Genin, Ruri'iro patiently waited for them to stop and listen. When he figured out that it wouldn't happen, Ruri'iro closed his eyes and cleared his throat loudly, basically saying, 'Eyes on my children!' before he smiled warmly, "Anyways, I brought you all here for a reason: the Jounins are going to set up a little test for you two. Hidden throughout this frozen forest will be several tickets to the Iron City ball that I implore you all to attend. A few more genin will join us, there are two twists though: only two tickets are real, the rest are fake. It will be your job to find a ticket, and bring it back to me for confirmation. Also, the Jounins here will lay traps and ambushes for you guys, so you'll have to be extra careful. Don't worry, the traps will be at a level that a Genin could get out of, and any ambush they set up, you won't be in any fear of dying. Understand?"

    ZAEL YUKIMURA
        THE DEVIL'S RIGHT-HAND MANxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxUKIGAKURE OUNIN

Zael crossed his arms and chuckled vainly at Kasai's empty threat of the three ways he would end his life. Zael exhaled and opened his eyes to glare at Kasai in a way most shinobi don't look at each other. His look was full of pity and disgust. "A scar on a man's back is shameful towards the one who dealt it. Plus..." Zael's face darkened and he smiled devilishly. His teeth seemed bleached white next to his dark demeanor. "I am a threat to the Yukikage. I stick around just to kill him myself." Zael's golden eyes flickered maliciously and those around him surely wouldn't be able to tell if he was friend or foe. Shortly after he revealed his threat, he shrugged and added, "I can't kill him as he is now, but the minute he falters..." Zael refrained from completing his sentence as it was quite obvious how it would end. Despite his constant presence being a threat to the Yukikage, Ruri'iro never let down his guard and Zael somewhat admired the man for it.

Zael returned his interested gaze towards Issho and his evil, downright villianous aura dissapated. Zael grinned and it was almost as if his previous statement never occured. "Well, if you get a choice, join my squad. You seem pretty interesting," Zael wasn't even sure if he had given the boy a compliment or not, but it was the truth. However, Zael did want a girl instead of another guy in order to balance out his squad, but Issho could be better than a girl. When the boy asked Zael why Kasai wouldn't be able to kill him in his sleep or if he was that strong, Zael simply chuckled and replied, "He's just that weak."

Zael smiled at Aurora when she agreed that killing a man in his sleep is cowardly. However, his normal demeanor was immediately stripped off of his appearance when the adorable girl had agreed with him. Zael's smile was nearly embarrassed and his cheeks turned a light pink once again. When Aurora claimed that it was wrong to kill anyways, Zael exhaled heavily and then breathed in his cigarette with great satisfication. He took the cigarette between his middle and index finger, removed it from his mouth, and exhaled in wisps of smoke. His words were lingering in a tone of playfulness, but he spoke the harsh truth. "You're in the wrong profession, then, sweetheart. Peace can't be acquired unless the threat is removed. The strong survive and the weak don't," Zael replied and then opened his eyes to look curiously at Aurora. "What happened to that determination I saw not too long ago? Don't tell me Kasai took it away from you."

Zael blinked and replaced the cigarette back between his cold-as-ice lips before looking at Ruri'iro. Zael raised his hand as if asking a teacher a question and sarcastically commented, "Sensei... my squad isn't even here. Can I recruit Issho-kun now? Either him or that frozen squirrel over there."

Issho couldn't help but wonder at the peculiar nature of the genin who called himself Zael. Had he really just threatened the Yukikage and another jounin from the village in just a few sentences? Surely, that should have been treason, right? Issho himself didn't mind, but he was just astonished that the Yukikage was fine with it as well. Astonished, and somewhat impressed. Maybe Rurr'iro was strong enough to not have to worry about any assassination attempts on his life. And if he was that strong, Issho couldn't help but be impressed.

Listening to the man's words, Issho smiled in excitement. "Now that sounds pretty cool." The boy not only was looking forward to the challenge, but, if he succeeded, he would get to go to the Land of Iron. From what he read in books, the country had a similar landscape and climate as that of Yukigakure, but it was still a foreign land. A foreign land that would have shinobi from other villages as well. Gotta get that ticket. Slightly nervous, Issho nodded at Ruri'rio's words. He hadn't gotten the chance to train in a while, and his smoke ninjutsu was still not the best. However, he had figured his skills would be enough. Or, at least, he had hoped they would be enough.

Aurora jumped a little when Ruri’iro cleared his throat. She wasn’t really focused on anything at the time and was a bit startled. She listened to him explaining that some of the tickets were faked which made her a bit sad. She wanted every Genin to be able to go. “Sensei, how can we tell what one is fake? Or do they all look so similar you can’t tell?” she asked. Aurora wasn’t too worried about the traps though. She was ok at disarming them.

"In order to exist, you need a purpose..."

The streets of Yukigakure were, surely, not as comfortable as Hotaka's bored relaxation upon the massive tree who claimed Squad B's Training Grounds as its home, but, as was made evident, everything loses its pleasure, at some point in time. The pathways, as they always are, were lined with piles of snow, save for the few areas of which the solidified liquid was forced to stay in its watery state. Perhaps it was a clever invention, at the time, but it was really only a waste of time. Either way there would be paths, and, if whoever came up with the thought believed that they needed them to be so much more evidently clear, he was simply incorrect. There is no such need for wasting the natural materials that the world has, in such petty manners, of which lack usefulness in a near entirety. It was simply unnecessary, all the effort that was put into the village. Its founders truly needed to learn how to take more time to calculate what is important. And surely, beauty was not the epitome of significance in a world of war. It would simply be torn down, time and time, again.
As he approached the private training grounds held inside Yukigakure, he noted that they were completely devoid of snow. Hotaka stared at the emptiness for a slight moment, as he continued walking. This was merely another example of the sheer wasting of time that this village dealt in. Perhaps he would take note if there were truly a reason for this lack of crystalline carpeting, but there simply didn't appear to be any worth bothering with. His footsteps soon left the sinking and lifting of the snow, as they planted themselves onto the naked ground, which was far more firm, despite still being soaked with the remnants of the snow of which had fallen upon it, some time ago.
It was beyond evident that there were others in his company. More than what number of few that he would bother adorning his time with. Hotaka took note that the air was warmer in this area, as well. Seeing that the village did happen to have a generator for its hotspring, it was more than likely that that was the cause for both the humidity in the air, as well as the no longer frosted earth. He took a step back, allowing the soles of his shoes to once again sink into the snow, as he leaned himself unto a nearby tree. If someone wished to notice him, they would act on it. Otherwise, he hadn't any purpose in wasting his time and energy with those that he may or may not act as accompaniment for in whatever activities it was that they were partaking in.

Ruri'iro looked over at Zael as he asked to take Issho or Aurora for a student, to which he shook his head in disapproval, "Issho has no squad, if you wish to take him as a student, I have no problems with it as long as he doesn't mind. But Aurora is my personal student," the fact he casually dismissed Zael's death threats was a bit odd. Was it because he was confident in the fact Zael couldn't kill him? Or was it because he knew the man wouldn't kill him? Either way Ruri'iro considers his threats to be empty words...however he does keep his guard up just in case he does carry it out. Can't be too careful.

"There will be a certain way the real tickets are written compared to the fake ones. It's very minute details, barely noticeable. But I can decipher which is the fake and which one's are real," he answered just when another genin walked in. Ruri'iro, being the Kage, was the first to notice him. What he didn't mention was the fact that more than two tickets were real, just in case more Genin showed up. Ruri'iro wanted as many of his village to come to the festivities and experience the world outside of the Land of Snow, "Welcome Genin, you came just in time for a little challenge. The winners will be going to the Land of Iron for fun and festivities."

Once he briefly explained what Hotoka missed, he went over towards Zael and Kasai and handed them each a small pile of tickets, several of which were real and gave them simple orders, "Hide them as well as possible, then set up an ambush. Don't. Kill. Any of them," he whispered before he turned to the Genin, "Now in a few minutes, the hunt will begin. It will be individual competitions, so you are only responsible for how well you do. When you find a ticket, bring it to me and I will tell you if it is a fake or not."

(Hakkkyou won't be here for an entire month, so as a Mod and leader of the village, his character will be used as an NPC for brief periods. When Draco is done setting things up, after I post, the games will begin)

"In order to exist, you need a purpose..."

Hotaka exhaled for a brief moment. Of course he had been directed to so swiftly upon his arrival- and by the Yukikage, himself. Though, the Genin honestly didn't care who it was, nor what his position may have been. He was simply another person living in the village. But for what bothersome reason was he called here? Hotaka was disappointed if this were truly the reason as to which he travelled to and fro each different location of the village. A mere game, it seemed. Absolutely nothing more than a mere game. Perhaps it had some prize, but he paid no mind. It was simply too demanding of effort. He didn't have any intentions of going on a hunt around Yukigakure for some tickets that led him to the Land of Iron. There was simply no motivation. If he were to travel there, it certainly wouldn't be for something so wasting as "fun and festivities". He simply didn't care for these things.
Rising, now, Hotaka leaned his back against the tree of which he was previously lying before. It was certainly interesting that he, of all people, was called to participate in this event. Perhaps they didn't know of his sheer ignorance and lack of caring, or, it was possible that they knew quite well, and believed that they could find a way around it. But there was simply no reason for Hotaka to wish to partake in such a game. He'd had far better things to do, and, he didn't see as to why he would bother wasting his time and energy on a wild goose chase, when he could simply spend his time relaxing, or perhaps training on his own manner.
Without turning his head in the direction of anyone, still looking out into what seemed to be empty space, he spoke aloud. "What reason have I to participate?" He took a moment to let his ignorant tone set in. "I'm really not one for these "games" of yours. It just seems like a waste of time and energy, to be honest." It was clear that he was directing his speech towards the Yukikage, due to his usage of a possessive. Hotaka didn't care how the man reacted, whether it be calmly or through frustration. He was giving his opinion, and his opinion had been given.
Now letting himself adjust, slightly lowering his stature, so that he was still leaning against the bark of the tree, however at a much more relaxed position. It was very unlikely that the two Jounin and Kage would get the Genin to participate in this event, but if they did, they'd have to provide quite good reasoning as to why he should. He let his head drop, now, slightly, as he let the comfort sink in, appearing to completely forget the fact that he had just spoken to one of the people in his presence. It seemed that he was paying more attention to the fact that he could no longer see his breath in the lack of cold, than that the Yukikage was likely to reply to his inquiry and statement in its due time.

Issho listened to Ruri'iro's instructions. The prospect of a challenge of his shinobi skills, as well as a rather enjoyable prize for his efforts, enticed Issho, and he was fairly certain that he was going to participate. He couldn't help but role his eyes at the new boy's comments. He did it discreetly, but did it all the same. Why were people so against going to this thing? To Issho, it didn't seem like a waste of time at all. It, instead, seemed like a free trip to the Land of Iron, a free meeting with shinobi from other villages, and a free extended meeting with the Yukigakure. He was also somewhat surprised at the new boy's extremely stoic nature. It sounded like he had something better to do than this little test, but Issho couldn't have guessed in a million ears what it was.

The genin nodded to show his understanding, and awaited fr the test to begin. He would have to deal with a trap set by one of the jounin; that shouldn't be too hard, he thought. The real problem was figuring out the validity of the tickets. Although he would still look at each ticket, Issho already came up with an idea to gather more than a few tickets. One of them, he hoped, would be real, and he would get to go to this Land of Iron ball.

    ZAEL YUKIMURA
        THE DEVIL'S RIGHT-HAND MANxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxUKIGAKURE OUNIN

Zael took the tickets with a rather curious expression, surprised that Ruri'iro would allow Issho into his squad with such ease after what had happened when he turned down another genin. Zael smirked faintly at the Yukikage's excellent example of confident leadership. He didn't frown or feint or even smile at Zael's threat. He remained apathetic, as if he didn't much care for it. It would show great leadership to the new genin around and Zael, for once, was proud of his feminine Yukikage. However, Zael then realized that Ruri'iro didn't feel threatened. That Zael was just joking or even lying. Zael's proud smirk vanished and was replaced with his incessant frown and a pulsing red vein on his temple.

"Oi! Pretty boy!" Zael grunted frustratedly and nearly crumpled the tickets in his hand. "Don't think that I've let the fact that you nearly killed me go! Plus, you mock me with those damn eyes! You and Mitsuba look so similar it's damn scary! You'll be dying by my hands, got it!?" Zael yelled and gnashed his teeth in anger. Zael paused his rant when he watched a very silent-looking boy speak to Ruri'iro. He spoke very rudely and it kind of pissed Zael off, but that would make him a hypocrite, so Zael said nothing but simply frowned at the newly-arrived genin. Zael did take note, however, how he slightly agreed with what the boy said. It did seem like a waste of time, but it was the Yukikage's orders. Although Zael disagreed with Ruri'iro for the most part and denied some of his suggestions, Zael never turned away from an order.

Zael was subconsciously glaring at the new genin when Ruri'iro whispered in his ear, sending wisps of warm smoke onto his skin and creating goosebumps from the sudden warmth in the deathly cold training grounds. Zael blinked when the Yukikage warned him not to kill any of the genin. What the hell? "I have more control than that, idiot!" Zael whispered back, but as loud of a whisper as he could muster. Zael inhaled the tobacco in his cigarette as he gave thought on how to hide the tickets. All in seperate places? That seemed too tedious and long. But all in the same place would have the participating genin fighting. Should they fight? Zael smiled when he got a brilliant idea after eyeing a squirrel.

Zael crossed his arms and shut his eyes, and then disappeared in a cloud of smoke. For nearly ten minutes he was gone and he returned in the similar cloud of smoke. His unbridled hair was covered in broken branches and leafs and there were some scratches on his hands and face. Despite his appearance, he looked rather proud. He spoke loudly, "I've tied all of the tickets to individual squirrels! Those things were nearly impossible to catch, so good luck!"

[OCC - - They really are fast, I'm sure you all have seen one at some point. They are very agile, as well, so they can make sharp turns at full speed. No godmodding, and good luck!]

Aurora didn’t like the fact she was called a frozen squirrel and stuck her tongue out at Zeal like a small child would do to their siblings. “I’m not a strange frozen squirrel!” she said as she crossed her arms.
She looked at the new Genin that entered and tilted her head. His eyes fascinated her, seeing as one was blue and one was red. She wanted to ask what was up with them but his words irritated her. “How is it a waste of time? I think it would be a great opportunity to meet new people and learn about another village.” She smiled. “I for one am excited about it!” she said as she once again jumped into the air.
She heard Zeal say she attached them to squirrels and frowned a bit. Those little bastards are hard to get…I wonder…Sensei, how do you make the ice trees?” She had a plan of using a similar technique only instead of trees maybe making it into a trap of some sort.

"In order to exist, you need a purpose..."

Hotaka took in his breaths slowly and quietly, seemingly as if he was about to allow himself to fall asleep, though that would never be the case. The cold, yet slightly heated, air ruffled his clothing, eve so slightly, to the point where he might bother to push it back to where it had been, previously. Instead, he remained in his relaxed, though slightly fading, position. Closing his eyes, now, he sighed. This really was just a waste of time for him, yet he didn't understand just why it was so exciting for the others. Perhaps this was just a game, but based on the challenge set ahead, it would not be extremely difficult to accomplish. There was even a high possibility that he could catch several of these rodents without leaving his current position. If he was forced to participate- and surely, it was likely that he would be- he'd already come up with a more than effective plan. The only fault would be a scenario in which one of the other two Genin in the vicinity might show up. But he'd handle that, whenever, he supposed. He honestly didn't care about winning, so as to whether or not he did, was up to however the task at hand went- reluctant or not.
As Hotaka began letting his contemplation fade, and allowing himself to return to focusing on nothing, his quaint and quiet world was soon interrupted by a feminine voice- most likely the Genin, but he wouldn't have been surprised if it was the Yukikage. It seemed far too young to be the Kage, although he didn't care, either way. Based on the direction of the voice, it was, in fact, the female Genin. Before speaking, he readjusted himself. The girl was obviously not his priority. With a much smoother, and less crude tone, he spoke, again. "I don't really care about what you think. Because you feel one way, does not concern me." Having never lifted his head, nor giving his attention to the Genin, save for his voice, he simply made it evident that he hadn't had anything more to say. It was ignorant of her to believe that simply for the fact that she felt otherwise, that her opinion would somehow affect himself. It was more than evident that this group was judging him, but he paid absolutely no mind. His social status wasn't important. Adjusting himself, once again, returning to his more comfortable state against the tree, he allowed himself to return to his empty world in space.

Ruri'iro sighed when Hotoka not only dismissed what Ruri'iro said as a waste of time, but stated that he didn't care what Aurora thought of him. Either this kid was lazy or he just didn't care. Either way, the Yukikage can't have that. All Genins were to participate, Ruri'iro thought bringing them all together to compete against each other would build character and motivate each of them to work as hard as they can to bring in the prize. Perhaps telling him he can't not participate would be the best idea. Besides, he didn't mention the fact a Jounin was also in the area to ambush him.

"Listen, Hotoka, every Genin that is here has to participate. That's the way it is. It would be unfair to everyone else if you were given special treatment and were allowed to stay out of it. Besides, it's not so much a game as it is a competition. This opportunity to leave the village and travel to a foreign land without it being a required mission, happens very, very rarely. Even if you aren't motivated to dance or do anything like that at the Land of Iron, the fact you get to go somewhere else for a bit of R&R is a chance you should take."

❝..The White Smoke..❞
┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓

Issho nodded at Zael's statement and began to think. He knew that squirrels were much faster than him, and if he spent all his time chasing them, he would never get his ticket. He had to think of something better. Something clever. He had his smoke ninjutsu to rely on, but he wasn't sure if the situation would come to that. Maybe, he's just be fine with a simple trap. The boy stood still for a second, thinking.

[[will do much better on next post, just a bit exhausted]]
