"There. What about there?"

"Look at that shoddy place. And the dust is being kicked up everywhere. What could you be thinking, to request I spend my time there?"

"Geez Donny, you know I liked it better when you could hardly speak coherently. But now.. well, the moment you start spouting Shakespeare, you can find yourself another bab-"

Donny's head swiveled sharply around, and he glared threateningly at Harmony, who had been assigned as his caretaker for the afternoon. Which his track record of running away, they were being extra cautious. However, she knew that the word babysitter would have him cast himself into the wind and out of her reach; so she paused at the glare, and gave him an awkwardly apologetic smile.

"-eheh, I mean, find yourself another companion."

Companion to Donny sounded more like servant, and this contented him. He handed her his umbrella (why he had one she couldn't understand, it was a dry and sunny day) and trotted off to regard the playground with distaste.

"How.. devastatingly dirty." His face scrunged up sadly and he flopped down on a bench, contemplating whether it was worth the effort to get dirty in order to have a little fun.

The sour look melted when he heard his name called, and his head tilted up to look for it's source. He saw Chai running towards him, and felt his face light up in a smile. He stopped himself a second before it happened however, and gave a furtive look to Harmony. The girl blinked, before rolling her eyes and turning away. Thus he was free to express his emotions without compromising his stature as her owner, and he turned his eyes back to Chai, and broke out in a grin. Hopping off the bench with ease, he snagged the hand that waved at him, and kissed the top of it, before picking up his friend in his arms and giving her a big hug.

"Chaichaichai! I knew it was a good idea to come to this place, but who would have guessed how good!"

Harmony swiveled around and gaped at him for a moment, but he acted as though she did not exist.

He put her down and flopped back on his bench, still grinning widely.

"I haven't seen you in forever. How have you been~?"

Donny's chest puffed up slightly as he called her handsome, and he gave her a sedated smile. "Yes, I know." He responded softly to her compliments, and briefly wished there was a mirror for him to be able to enjoy the view himself. If only for a moment.

"Lance grew up too?" He tried so very hard not to think that if he grew more beautiful, would that mean Lance had grown more ugly? He promised himself that he would not think of Lance as ugly, but promises such as those made in the haste of childhood seemed foggy and damp in his mind. He couldn't quite remember why he had accepted Lance as he had.

He would make sure to find the clothes he had let Lance wear that day.. and donate them to a worthy cause.

Such as a new scrub cloth for his pegasi.

"Well, isn't that nice."

His smile remained solid and pasted on his face, never once letting his actual thoughts project onto his expression.

Harmony gave the cute little girl a warm smile, and curtseyed softly as was her custom. "A pleasure to meet you Chai, my name is Harmony. I'm Donny's si-"

"You've never met my pet, Chaichaichai?"

"Donny. Now that you're older I won't tolerate-"

"Daddy bought her for me in a store. So, have you seen anyone else lately?" His subject change was as swift as his brush off of his sister was. The girl pursed her lips and gave the boy a stern look, but he ignored it.

Chai always was one of his most intelligent friends. He merely nodded as she spoke of the inevitable inadequacy of Lance's growth, and watched in careful silence as Harmony and Chai spoke. He didn't trust what Harmony might say to Chai that might poison her mind with false information. As soon as they had finished the formalities, he stole Chai's attention back to where it rightfully belonged; on him.

"Aido? Nalira? I don't recall either of those people. So you have a new roommate? How is that working out for you? She has been treating you well, I should hope?"

This pet business was getting out of control. So what if their father had in fact bought her as an egg from a store! Harmony was no one's pet.. she was her own person, and she certainly wasn't going to take this kind of treatment from that little pipsqueak any longer.

Harmony stood there for a moment, briefly stewing in her own thoughts, before she heard a familiar jingle in the air, and froze in horror.

Donny perked up instantly, and swiveled his head left and right, until he saw it. There it was, in all it's brilliant white glory. His grin turned maniacal, and he bellowed out loudly.

"IIICE CREAAAAAAAAAAMMMMM!!"

Harmony flinched at the scream. Some things would never change.

Without much warning, he scooped Chai up in his arms, scrambled up to stand on the bench, putting one foot on the backrest to shove him upward as he alighted into the air and took flight. The jingle was soft because the truck was a block away, but he could have heard that tune from miles away.

"Icecreamicecreamicecream" He chanted, carrying Chai off to the truck. He glided down to land nearby, his feet stumbling as they attempted to try and compensate for his landing procedure. He finally got his balance back a foot from bumping into the truck itself, and put Chai down. Immediately he took her hand and led her to the window, where an agitated worker was waiting to take their order.

"Chaichaichai what do you want? You can have anything you want!"

Behind them, far behind them, Harmony was slowly trudging toward the truck with her head in one hand, shaking it.

"A fine choice," Donny commented, obviously pleased that even her choice of ice cream reflected his greatness. Chai was soon becoming a companion Donny would not want to be without.

"I will have a banana split with vanilla, strawberry, and caramel ice scream. And extra hot chocolate on top, and.. sprinkles. Oh and peanuts."

The ice cream man was already done with Chai's order while listening to Donny, who hadn't waited until he returned to place his order. When he handed Chai her ice cream, he gave Donny a narrow lipped frown, before getting to work on the rather large order.

Once done, he lowered the boat down to the boy, who looked as though he was about to do a dance in glee. "Thank you, thank you! It took you long enough though.." This last part was said a bit quieter, but the man heard it well enough, and gave Donny an exasperated sigh.

"That'll be five dollars kid." He murmured, and Donny looked up at him with a spoonfull of ice cream in his mouth. Money? Why, was this man not going to give him the ice cream for FREE?

Donny realized that everything came at a price, and this man deserved his pay. Therefore he gave the man the best prize he could think of. He pulled the spoon out of his mouth, and put his hands to his hips, posing regally. His wings flared out behind him, and he beamed at the man, who he was sure would bask in his glory and be satiated.

In fact, he may even get some change back on this one.

The ice cream man stared at the posed boy, a single brow cocked. They stood there, silently, for a good 10 seconds.

Donny was getting tired of standing like this.. his beaming disposition was fading to one of impatience. The ice cream man had been looking impatient long before this, however, and he opened his mouth to yell at the boy, when a five dollar bill was plunked down in front of him.

Harmony gave Donny a withered look, and the boy gazed back at her in confusion.

"He.. got to bask in my glory, AND five dollars?"

Harmony slapped her forehead.

"There had better be a second helping involved.."

Elena bit her bottom lip, sensing the tension between the pirate and the knight. Before she could say anything - although who knows if she'd have said something to cut the tension or to add to it - Vidya remarked on how cute she and Lance looked together, which of course made her blush even more. "I like fairy tales," Elena murmured softly, unusually shy. She quickly rebounded, however, "You may be a dragon, but I doubt you'd kidnap me," she said in reply to Lance, a light and melodic chuckle escaping her, leaving others to draw the natural conclusion from what she'd left unsaid - that she really was a princess.

Pursing her lips slsightly in thought, Elena decided to draw the conversation away from where it was going, although who knows what Tybalt might do, if the dragon and the parrot really were as ill disposed to each other as it seemed. "I've been having trouble sleeping too," she admitted with a twist of hair now twined around a finger, the starlit points making it appear as if she had a band of diamonds instead. "And I think Vidya mentioned something about bad dreams as well," Elena added, leaving the other girl an out if she didn't want to discuss such things.
