Sebastian tilted his head at the small elf as he spoke. "Really now?" He said softly as he turned to watch Manga

"... Yes. That's correct." Manga sighed once more before turning to Tkal. "So. What is it you want to know this time?" Tkal thought for a minute before replying. "What you're running from." "... You won't be satisfied with my answer." The halfling sighed. "Fine... How about your real name?" Manga was quiet and simply turned towards the door. "... Dahlia." She started walking back towards where she'd left the twins. "Dahlia Sin."
Only once Manga had left did he turn to Sebastian. "I didn't think she'd actually do that... Do you two know each other?"

Sebastian shook his head. "I met her when you guys showed up here. I didn't know who she was or what she did, nor did I know that she even knew about me and was helping conceal my whereabouts." He replied softly, watching Manga... Dahlia leave.

Tkal stared at him. "Wait. She was... concealing your whereabouts for free? Manga doesn't do anything for free." The halfling went quiet for a moment, thinking. Finally, he pointed at Sebastian. "She likes you," he concluded. "That's the only explanation I can think of that makes any sense whatsoever."

Sebastian's eyes widened. "What?! No. No she doesn't. She's just..." He shook his head. "She's just a nice person." He nodded, his amber gold eyes looking away from the halfling. Manga didn't even know him, how could she like him?

"Seb, I've known her for five years. Not once did she do anything for free. Even if it seemed like she was, she wasn't. There was always a benefit. She is a nice person, but she doesn't do things for free. ... Even more rarely would she do something that cost her, which I imagine this is." Tkal glanced towards the doorway. "Merchant's instinct, I guess. And my instinct tells me she's got a little soft spot for you." His gaze went back to Sebastian. "Do you have a better theory?"

Seb shook his head, unable to come up with a response for the little gladiator and instead just walked outside and to the barn to see how Aila was coming along with her chores.

Tkal watched Sebastian leave, then turned to the doorway again. "So. Did I guess right?" A sigh filtered in from the hall. "Considering how much I trust your instincts, what do you think?" "You aren't going to tell him?" "Since when do I give information for free?" Tkal grinned. "Since him." Manga moved to stand in the doorway. "I didn't give information for free. I freely used my information to keep him from being caught. There's a difference." The halfling waved his hand dismissively. "Uh-huh. But you didn't try to kill me for saying it, so I'm assuming it's alright?" "Not in the slightest. I just don't feel like killing you over it." Manga turned and walked back down the hall to go assist the twins. "That idiot..."

TIEMSKIPERS! Sebastian, Aila, and Thalanir came into the cottage not long after. Thalanir had a pack on his back and was actively looking at Tkal. "Tkal... I have a job I've been called out to do and was wondering if perhaps you would like to accompany me so we can catch up, Brother..." He said, his gold eyes looking evenly into the halfling's. Sebastian looked from the elf to the halfling, a puzzled look on his face. Had Thalanir just called Tkal his brother? Maddi, fresh from her bath, ran up to Sebastian and clung to his leg, shoving her picture in his pocket and looking back at her twin. Aila smiled at the company, ignoring the exchange between Tkal and Thalanir and walking over to the two girls to make sure that they were okay and healthy.

Manga blinked as she entered the room with Emmie, her mildly surprised expression half-hidden behind her mask.
Tkal gazed calmly into the elf's before beaming at Manga. "That's how it is. You don't mind, do you?"
Manga rolled her eyes. "You know you don't have to ask my permission. I'm not your master."
"But will you be...? ... Nevermind." Tkal spun on the balls of one foot and shuffled about the room to grab his things.
Manga smiled slightly. "There's not a lot of family resemblance, but I'm a little surprised I didn't make the connection before..."

Thalanir watched Manga with a half wary expression as Tkal got his things ready. While Tkal was the eldest, Thalanir was taller, bigger, and looked older that his brother, while still maintaining the youthfullness that every elf had. He gave a short nod to Aila and Sebastian before turning out the door to Kailyn and Karia. He nimbly leaped onto Kailyn's back, patting his neck warmly, thankful to have his first Bonded back home. Sebastian shook his head and picked Maddi up, watching the two elves leave. "That, I never expected..."Aila only chuckled and bent down to Emmie's height. "Hey sweety. Can I look at you?"

Tkal instinctively froze when he saw the horses. He didn't get on them; he'd be better off walking.
"They don't look at all alike, but they have similar tendencies," Manga replied. "They're both incredibly wary--Thalanir is especially cautious of me. But they both have people they trust: Tkal has me, Thalanir has you and Aila. They're also both excellent fighters."
Emmie hesitated and looked up at Manga before slowly nodding. "Kay..."

Thalanir looked down at his brother. "Tkal?"
Karia dipped her head down close to the two-legger and gave a soft snort. "Aint scared, are ya?" She asked softly and kindly. "I'm Karia, and you don't have to be 'ascared of me, unless you take my shinies... Then... I'll pummel you!>' She teased.
Sebastian nodded. "He doesn't trust me as much as he does his mate, Kyri, and he only trusts Aila because she saved him. He just tolerates me. But Thalanir is cautious of anyone that's human." Sebastian replied, setting Maddie down next to her sister so that she could be checked as well.
Aila checked first Emmie, then Maddie, before standing up and patting their heads. "There's some cookies in that jar over by the fire. You two can each have one." She said before turning to Manga and Sebastian. "He didn't trust Kyrielle at all when he met her, because she was a human."

Tkal automatically took a step back from Karia when she lowered her head. "Stealing is unfun," he replied simply. "And I'm not scared." He scratched his head, his calm expression completely visible since his hair was tied back. "I just have a tendency of hurting horses when I ride, so..." It didn't matter if it was an Azrien or just a regular horse; he just couldn't ride without injury to the creatures. It wasn't intentional; it just happened...
Manga nodded slowly. "If Thalanir's past is anything like Tkal's, I don't find that surprising." Her gaze went to the window, watching the two brothers. "An aversion to humans, huh...? I can't say I blame him."
Emmie looked up at Manga, as if confirming that what the other woman said was true. After a nod from the masked lady, she led her sister over to the cookie jar. She reached in and pulled one out for Maddi, then got one for herself.

Maddie grinned and took the cookie from her sister, nibbling on it greatfully.
Sebastian watched Manga. "What do you mean, you don't blame him?" He asked softly.
Aila went over and sat with the girls, pulling a cookie out for herself. "Why don't you tell me a bit about what happened to you two.?"
Karia puffed into his face again. "I aint worried about you hurting me, just try, okay? Maybe we can work something out.
Thalanir watched cautiously.
