"Nice dance too," he grinned, helping to neatly plug the log up again. "Since you're part of us now, make yourself at home! You'll probably be working with me and Shaken most...and I gotta warn you, Shaken is not, uh - the kindest. But he does know what he's talking about." A sheepish smile and a conspiratorial wink.

Headlong's head slowly swivelled up from his inspection of the berry plants as he heard the whisper float past. The closest kin was the short-tailed buck, and though loathe to be pulled away from his activities, he knew it had to be done.

He straightened and queried, hesitantly and suspiciously, "...you're...looking for uncle Fell?"

The buck did not seem...well.

Left stared wide-eyed at the sneezing doe, mid-duck-count. He hadn't expected company - his saleskin-voice wasn't ready! What did she say? Did she ask a question?

It was only when an eaglehound silently ventured in that he snapped out of his panic - not by choice. Walking on Fire might have been blessed with his mother's stillness and grace, but Icebow was not. Bark bark bark bark! Icebow went, rocketing away from the chicken and prancing circles around his brother like a shot, Barkbark bark bark bark!

"Oh, for - ICEBOW, QUIET!" Good-naturedly, the hound subsided to excitable yips and lolling tongue.

"I'm sorry, miss," Left finally addressed the doe, with much embarrassment and apology, "what did you say?"

Name of Kin: Avacado Pieces (guacamole)
Avacado Pieces is A foreger of the highest talent with an impeccable sense of smell, although a little bit of a nut, is also very kind and generous, always willing to lend a hand.
Applying for: supplier and gatherer
Relevant skills: Avacado Pieces is an excellent foreger. She can find just about anything the shop needs, or that she believes it needs. Already knowing quite a few places on her own where some good items would be, she often finds these places off the trail. Places where other Kin don't generally travel.
Entry: Avacado Pieces wnated to create something that was simple, but could impress the others if done correctly. She decided that making some nice pita chips and some guacamole to go with it would be a wonderful dish to serve. She started bu gathering all the various ingedients needed to make the wonderful dish. First getting the items needed to make the pita chips, some already made pita bread, olive oil, and a few other various spices. Cutting the pita bread up, then mixing the other ingredients together. Brushing the ingredients onto the bread before starting to bake it so it would crisp. As the chips were baking, she then gathered the ingredients to make a delicious guacamole. Avacado Pieces gathered some fresh avacadosand a few other vegetables with a small bit of lime juice. Mashing it all together nicely and evenly, while adding a few spices to taste. She then took the finished chips, placing them around a small bowl on a dish, where the quacamole was then placed. She then took the dish to a small table where a few other Kin were waiting to try whatever it was she had put together. She smiled brightly as she placed down her platter, the Kin trying her recipie and smiling. Being pleased with herself, she watched as they finished off the dish.


Name of Kin: Hard Boiled
Hard Boiled is Dependable and straight forward, the go-to girl if you need an opinion or even a task done quickly, efficiontly, and correctly.
Applying for: in-store sales and relations
Relevant skills: Hard Boiled is quick witted and intelligent. She learns as much as she can about everything she can and put all of that knowledge to use in any way that she can. She is also very talented at explaining how something works, or the process to get something done in a manner that anyone could understand.
Entry: Hard Boiled wanted to makes something basic that could, perhaps, be used with another dish, or as a good appitizer. Makes a decision, she decided that deviled eggs would be a nice dish to create. Doesn't take too long and tastes pretty good too. Taking some large hard boiled eggs, deshelling them. Then gathering the few other ingredients to make the middle paste like yolk. Cutting the deshelled eggs in half length wise and then adding the yolk from each to a good sized bowl. She placed mayo, sweet relish, mustard, and a bit of salt and pepper to the yolk, mixing it all up nicely. Getting all the egg hlaves together and placing them nicely on a dish, she then took the yolk mixture and started to carefully scoop it into the egg halves. Deciding that the dish looked a bit bland, she added a bit of greenery to the edges of the dish. She smiled at her creation then carried it out to some Kin that were waiting for a little something to eat. Placing the dish down, she watched them as they carefully started eating her dish. As they ate more and more, Hard Boiled was very pleased with herself. Feeling that she did a wonderful job indeed.

Name of Kin: Hardened Cocoa (chocolate mousse)
Hardened Cocoa is Sweet as chocolate cream pie and twice as nice, a smooth talker and a talent for selling others the things they need, even if they don't think they need it.
Applying for: in-store sales
Relevant skills: Hardened Cocoa has a way with others and words. He is often told that he also has a decent knack for selling things. Making himself familiar with the products in the store, knowing anything and everything that one might use the various things for helps him in his selling prowess.
Entry: Hardened Cocoa looked around at all the stock in the shop. He was amazed, but had been very happy to help out when asked and needed. Looking around some more he wasn't sure where to even start taking the stock. The, deciding instead to find someone to ask, Hardened Cocoa started looking around the store a bit more. As he was, he noticed what seemed like a good untouched and unworked area to start taking the stock on his on. Deciding to simply get to work on helping on with the stock, he went over to the section, sure that it was going to be appreciated either way. He mulled around the various plants and spices that were around the area, sorting and taking count of everything that he saw. Figuring that it was a good idea to keep track of what was being done, he decided, not too far into the process, that he should start his own small ledger of the items. That way when he work was done, it could simply be copied down into a master ledger. Hardened Cocoa continues on, waiting until someone told him to do something else, simply enjoying keeping busy with his little section for now.


Name of Kin: Rainbow Crumbs (rainbow cookie)
Rainbow Crumbs is A quiet but reliable guy, he can tell things about others simply by listening to what they have to say about themselves or others, their inner nature usually made easy to guess.
Applying for: recruiter
Relevant skills: Rainbow Crumbs is good at telling a lot about others simply by listening to them and watching them. When he is passionate about something, this otherwise quiet guy has a tendency to become a little over the top and voice his opinion openly.
Entry: Rainbow Crumbs walked around the shop a bit slowly, becoming accustomed to the shops layout and the various faces that he would probably be seeing a lot more of in the future. Looking around, he tried to spot an area that needed to be started, or even possibly someplace to start cleaning up after someone else who has taken stock in an area. Just because it was his first day on the job didn't mean that he had to be lazy about getting anything done. And there was no better day to start a new job at Rise & Shine as stock taking day. It provided the perfect opportunity to get to know the stock and where everything is placed and can be found in the shop. Rainbow Crumbs decided that the best way to start would be to look around some more, even getting to know the shop and all of it's stock in more detail. Thinking about asking some questions of others who had been working here longer, seeing what kinds of things he might need to know, or maybe already knew. Yes. No better way to start a job. And with that Rainbow Crumbs started taking in everything around him, asking all the questions that he needed answered, and getting to know that shop for the rest of the day.

Icebow was causing a racket. Killing Moon chuckled at the familiar sound, looking up and around to see if he could catch a glimpse of what had set the Eaglehound off this time. Instead he spotted the Rise and Ember as they made their way towards him and his smile broadened.

There was a glint of pride in his gaze as he watched his friend’s approach. He remembered the first time she had met his family and how uncomfortable she had been around so many kin. Now she was slowly adapting.

Killing Moon looked back at Talon, dipping his head in apology. “please excuse me,” Without waiting for a reply, he turned and moved to meet his father and friend.

She considered his question very seriously, looking around for apt comparison. "They are about the size of a Kin's head. Well, perhaps not an Acha's head, that is quite small. More a Totoma's head, I think. Except they are much rounder, and...and fluffier. They have little wings. We have them in different colours, but the ones that are missing are mostly brown and red - and one is partially blue."

"So a fluffy thing about the size of your head. Only round. And winged. And decidedly not green or really a good camouflagey color. Hm," he said, checking more trees. "Doesn't sound very aerodynamic, which is probably good in an animal you're trying to keep around. And- forgive me if I'm overstepping here, but have you tried luring them back with food? I don't really know that much about domestication, but what I do know is that most animals like to eat."
