C.J. nodded "I don't even wanna KNOW if they're gonna come muck up our free time. If worse comes to worse, they at least oughta have the decency to wait 'til after lunch." he said with a smile as they got a nice little corner booth. It was a neat little place, and while the Manic Marylander wasn't exactly there to check out the scenery, he did appreciate the flavor of the cantina.

Misty let out a small sigh as they sat down at the booth. Wasn't the sort of place she usually went out to eat, but at this point she didn't care. Nothing was smashing through the walls yet, no gun fire, no crazy. She'd take no crazy over just about anything right now.
"So... anything you'd suggest? Never been in here before, but I'm sure you know what's good." she said, looking over towards CJ with as small smile.

C.J. smirked a little bit as he relaxed. "I was here once when the circus came to town a year ago. Maybe two . . . I'd suggest the fish tacos. They're fresh from the ocean. The Tortas ain't bad either." he drawled and smiled at her. "And great margaritas. They don't gyp ya on the Tequila, darlin' . . . and I think after that turbulent past couple days, we could go for a pitcher of the stuff." he drawled as he relaxed. Finally, no crazy . . . or so he thought.
"Uh oh, I know where this is going. I just can't say anything for the good of the plot!"
((SHH! We can't tell 'em he's gonna get kidnapped, right?!))
Will you two BE QUIET!?! If he goes, WE go, and frankly . . . *looks at fourth wall C.J.'s demolished plate of nachos* Well, it won't be so bad if it comes with spraying our friend with a hose!

Misty chuckled. "I could go for some of that. It's a good thing neither one of us is driving." she said. "And I haven't had a taco in quite some time. Think I'll give it a try. As long as we actually get a nice meal in peace."

C.J. relaxed. "Yeah . . . I can barely drive SOBER without breaking stuff. Rather not try my luck drunk." he cracked. Yeah, it was gonna be good to get a meal in peace, but something was grating at the back of the Marylander's mind. Why THEM?! When the worlds collided things were relatively normal . . . hell, he was out camping . . . well that's what he told his parents anyway. He WAS kinda camping . . .
on a train . . .
on the way to the next town with the circus!
Okay, so the camping bit was a bit of a fib (editor's note: total bullshit), but still a relatively normal life. Well, it didn't seem like Misty was all that content with the wackiness going on either. Either way, still made the guy curious as to why in the hell these punks were chasing THEM . . . and what would Mr. Walcott think?!
But that got swept out of his mind when the waiter came by and asked them for their order. Questions left to be answered later. Right now, it was time for good Mexican food!

Misty smiled as the waiter came to the table, then looked over at CJ. "Well, think I'll just have what you suggested. Nice strong drink and those fish tacos." she said.

C.J. smiled and nodded. "Quiero tres tacos pescado y un margarita grande, por favor." he asked, even in his Spanish, his Maryland twang as about as recognizable as all get out. The waiter and he talked a little in Spanish before he headed out. C.J. smiled back over to Misty. "I'll be back in a little bit, ok, babe?" he said as he stole a kiss.
At this point, HE's here, why not?
*nomming on a huge pile of nachos ... again* "Mmmm, muy caliente es muy bueno!"
. . . and he's one of the good guys!

Well, a little bit. C.J. laughed and got up. "Help yourself! They make really, REALLY good ones here." he drawled as he kissed her forehead before heading over to the Men's room. Sure he coulda gone sooner, but the ultra-mega-oh-my-god gulp of Sweet Tea really, REALLY made him have to wizz. He made it over to the men's room, sliding in and got ready to drain the iguana. Too much action over the past few days!

There wasn't anything very exciting or noticeable about the restroom. No sense of impending doom or danger. Just a relatively clean and empty room, save for one stall that seemed to have someone who was having trouble pulling their pants back up. Or... something of that sort anyway. Good bit of movement and yanking of cloth. Heavy cloth.

And assume danger C.J. did not. He was to busy taking a leak to pay mind to what was going on in the other stall. Nor did he care. Seriously, that gargantuan cup was HUGE! However, as he finished and flushed, he went to wash his hands when something didn't seem right . . .
whoops! C.J.! HEY! Your fly's down!
Really? CRAP! Thanks, writer! he thought as he zipped up and washed his hands. Hell, the only thing REALLY on his mind was some good fish tacos and the margaritas!

Slowly the stall door opened behind CJ as he washed his hands. Then a not-so-slowly black pointy-eared cowl and caped figure jumped out. The costume, what black could be seen of it, certainly looked like the ever famous Batman costume. The very red-clad female figure under it was clearly NOT Batman though.
She let out a growl as she landed right behind CJ, wrapping her arms around him in a surprise bear-hug. "Gotcha!"
Hey, might as well get all the fun she could out of the new cape and cowl. They weren't in Gotham, so she didn't have to worry about the REAL Bats getting grumpy that she was wearing his suit better than he did.

C.J. struggled for a minute before seeing his captor in the mirror. "Really? Lady Bat-Pool?" he asked, a lot less scared and more annoyed really. After all, this was someone who . . . kinda almost slit his throat, which meant that almost either way he was gonna see Mr. Happy down in the underworld. But THIS? HERE?! REALLY?!
"Y'know, I kinda figured this was gonna happen. Who ELSE would it be? Rocket Raccoon?"
((Careful, that may be a tie-in thing we do when the movie comes out))

"Yep!" she replied a little too happily, still not letting him go. "Nails took out the Bat Woman that was in the basement with her, and now I get some nice little accessories for my costume. Whadda ya think? The black really brings out my dark and brooding personality, don't cha think?" she said. Then paused a moment in thought. "Oh, by the way..."
Deliberate kick to the back of his knee.
"That's for killing yourself. I was TRYING to get you NOT killed. And instead you go and do that."

"Nice outfit . . . it's because of Nails and crazy two-face katana b***h (not YOU, Typhoid something-or-other) as to why I DON'T LIKE POINTY s**t NEAR MY NECK!!" he growled, trying to get up.
"By the way, Hades is a douche. Rest of 'em were alright though." C.J. said nonchalantly.
"So, any reason you came all the way out here? Thought Marvel's crewbies usually stayed in New York unless there's a mission." he cracked. Yep, mouthing off in the face of danger.
(Wait, she's wearing Batmom's gear!)
"SO WHAT?! Batmom wants to kinda kick ALL THREE of our asses for the Batmobile, and I'm SURE Aiden . . . uhh . . . what happened to Aiden, anyhow?"
Probably fightin' a hangover.
