"You really do. We need to figure that out somehow." Alina beamed like a woman half her age anyway, her head tilting to catch that cheek kiss with her lips. "I like seeing you on a regular basis. It's a bonus of this whole talking again thing." the Starcrafter nuzzled against his ear for a soft kiss once again. The kneading didn't stop, she didn't want it to, and Alina let herself enjoy the quet moment.

He loved his job. She had a feeling she knew what the schedule would look like once he healed completely. Maybe it'd be easier to put a calender on his desk, tell him to mark out when he'd like to see her, and... see what could happen. She doubted he'd be interested in random, ahem, lunchtime visits.

"I like to believe I'm sensible. But then I remember spend my time staring at the sky trying to figure out when murderous alien life will be falling from the sky and realize that sense is silly." She smiled against his skin, fingers softening. "I'm glad you aren't feeling old. Makes me feel all pretty."

...Well he hadn't wanted her to agree with him. "You will see me on a regular basis. Every day, even, barring us having our days completely clash on occasion," he assured, pushing aside his worries on the matter for the time being; she was here right now, close and affectionate. He could deal with less pleasant things in the morning.

"Sense is far from silly," Bereck disagreed with one of his small smiles, "and you are pretty. Regardless! You are sensible, for the most part, but not completely. Your job is certainly sensible."

...He should really focus on the affection rather than arguing his point on sense.

"Very pretty," he added, and lent up to give the tall woman another proper kiss.

Alina smiled and leaned in close, her nose moving to press against his temple. "I love you. Even if we can't frolic like little runnerbeasts all day every day, if I can see you more then we used to be able to then life is going to be good. Okay? Details later."

She felt a bit of a flutter with that little smile he had. She loved them. Love him. And when he moved up and closer and kissed her, there were no words. She couldn't make things into words, especially not when she leaned in and kissed him back.

"I'm trying to say something clever," She murmured into the kiss, leaning down for another one. "But with you saying those things and kissing me, all I can think is the word 'love' in big letters all over my mind. All I can think." Her lips quirked and, with that, she sing-songed under her breath. "Loooooove~"

"Alright, I take it back," Bereck murmured softly, smirking a bit and kissing her cheek. "You are silly. I like it." Another squeeze and another brief kiss. "And I love you too, my Star."

Things wouldn't be the same as when they'd been young. Maybe they would be better. He was busier, yes, but he was good at handling mad schedules now and along with being older he was wiser, perhaps less likely to make mistakes. He did miss being able to pick her up though....

Physics!

"Come with me," Bereck instructed, breaking their embrace and catching hold of Alina's wrist to lead her into deeper water. Once he was at about chest depth, for him, he turned back to her and reached up to brush her hair back from her face. "Put your arms around my neck love?"

When she complied he smiled, scooped her off her feet and kissed her again.

"Loooove~" Alina murmured back, fading into a quiet laugh. She tilted her cheek to him, smiling, happy as hell, and then it broke to a squeak when he pulled. "You know, the last time you said that we almost got in trouble in my old crafting quarters. My mentor would not have been pleased."

Her arms went up and around as requested, face brightening with the brush o his fingers against her cheek. She'd not been lying about the 'love' bit dancing through her hair. Him scooping her up had not been a thought in her mind; Alina yelped in surprise, tightened her arms, and started to laugh.

Right, a kiss. She returned it with a low noise, head tilting to lean in closer to him. It didn't keep her from wanting to smile.

He could feel her smiling into the kiss, which made him smile too. Things would be alright. How could they not be?... How could he find out what size her finger was without her catching on? Maybe he could measure while she was asleep sometime, that sounded feasible.

Eventually Bereck broke the kiss. He spent a moment longer nuzzling Alina's face before pulling back to a more convenient talking distance, still holding her close against his scarred body. "Buoyancy," he said, smile still curving his lips and and crinkling the corners of his eyes. After a moment he added; "I've missed holding you... you know I think the last time I picked you up like this we almost got into trouble too; we really were quite imprudent." Of course now they each had their own private office, which could be locked.... He probably shouldn't be thinking things like that, it would be unprofessional, he would have the hide of any journeyman or apprentice he caught doing something like that.

He was still thinking it.

Only Bereck could make finger-sizing not sound creepy and stalkerish. She hummed into the kiss, that pleased noise not stopping even when he broke away for a nuzzle and a talk. A slim index finger trailed over the wrinkles by one of his eyes, stroking the raised skin gently.

"Buoyancy." she agreed softly. Alina chuckled, leaning in and kissing him again, softer then before but with no less intent to it. "We were horribly young and full of silliness, plans at Mastery be damned. those are good memories. Very good." Alina grinned and nosed at his cheek, her legs splashing idly at the water. "... I've missed you holding me too. It's ice."

"...You know I don't actually feel much like swimming," Bereck said after a short pause. "Let's go back to the beach and have something to eat and drink. You must be in need of breakfast by now, and I could use some dinner." There were still other ideas floating around in his mind but they weren't a good idea in the water. Probably not on the beach either, but definitely not in the water.

"I couldn't help that kind of silliness," he added squeezing Alina and giving her another brief kiss on the lips. "You were just so.... You. And you still are." Not rushing things had certainly been a good idea... but it had been months now. Wouldn't it be alright to be together again?

On cue, Alina's stomach rumbled under the water. She laughed, squeezed his shoulders before squirming slowly out of his arms. "No buoyancy when we get nearer to the beach, unfortunately." But once down, her hand slid to take one of his, fingers threaded between his. The smile she shot him, though, was anything but unfortunate.

"Your statement carries a few implications there, young Masterhealer." Alina hummed, tugging gently as they sloshed back towards the beach. "Several, in fact. Me being me."

The closer they got to the beach the more notable Bereck's limp became. When he reached around thigh depth his body and expression started to tense again; he grabbed for Alina's arm for support, smiling tightly. "Perhaps it was supposed to," he replied.

Alina paused to let them both get used to his weight once again. The Starcrafter leaned down and kissed that tight smile, her free hand stroking along his fingertips. "I love you." she repeated, gentle, low. "Tell me if it was supposed to so I can say shards yes."

Bereck relaxed a little at that kiss, pain not fading but love making it easier to deal with. That was corny but it was true; he knew all about the importance of mental state in pain management. When you were happier, and felt supported, you felt stronger and better able to cope.

He looked up at her, smile still tight abut expression over all gaining an intimate sort of a light. It was a look that nobody else had ever got from him, or would ever get. The ends of the bell curve, the million to one chance.

The one.

"It was suppose to," he replied, halting and moving to slide both arms around her waist. "Not right now," he clarified, because Bereck would be dead before he stopped explaining things, "but... later? I mean, we haven't eaten yet." That probably sounded a little lame but he didn't care just at that moment. Everything was perfect, and Alina understood him.

"Love you." She murmured again when he relaxed against her. Alina leaned in closer as well, hesitated when she first saw the warmth creeping onto his expression. Pink bloomed on her cheeks and to her ears with that look, her reaction the same as if he'd spoken to her in his low voice.

Two slim arms wrapped around his shoulders gently, her fingers stroking along the base of his neck with a little happy noise. "Shards yes," Alina clarified as well, leaning in to kiss his forehead, then between his brows. "Food first, then awfulness later. I just. Yes. So you know."

She had no idea what she was saying but at the very least she knew what he was saying. He might understand her.

He squeezed her closed, lent up to give her a brief passionate kiss and then drew one of her hands up to press of his heart, over the scars. "I love you," he said softly, "always have. I know you know, and I've said it a lot today but... well I like saying it." Later was starting to feel like a stretch but he was hungry, and tired and pained just now. Food and rest would help.

"Come on," he gave her another kiss on the lips and smiled, "Let's go and eat. I've taught the firelizards to open a bottle of wine, they'll show you."

Her fingers curled, fingers soft against the scar tissue. Breathing came a bit difficult with the kiss and, for a moment, she leaned in and kissed him again, no less passionate then the first one. "I like hearing it." She whispered, teeth catching at his lower lip. "A lot. As often as you feel like."

But she smiled, her hand curling up to stroke along the curve of his jaw. "Eat and drink. I'm looking forward to seeing them opening the wine." She was looking forward to quite a few things, if the way her foot crept to push at his toes gently under the water. "You need to unlatch from me first, dearest. Let's go."
