Space-time warps (portal creation - up to 10 at a time, teleportation) Bio/history: Born the b*****d child and youngest of three noble sons, Terrowyn wasn’t destined to be the heir of the family, much less to ascend the complicated ranks of the nobles with his inherent battle prowess. However, his older brothers and father disappeared mysteriously on a trip to pay homage to the previous king, leaving Terrowyn to head the house of Frey at the tender age of thirty, with his mother as Regent. Years later, it was revealed that the older Freys had been kept captive when they refused an offer from the king, and had murdered the king behind closed doors. With his dying breath, the demon king cursed all the Freys, bringing instant death to the three with him, and an early death to Terrowyn’s mother. The boy alone survived. While wars raged around the prize of the power vacuum, the boy allied himself with many larger houses as a vassal house, eventually amassing his own army through his persuasive speech and start as an apparently submissive member of the allied houses. On one fateful night, he proclaimed the time for action right as the soldiers of the allied houses stormed the castle and overthrew the king. Fighting his way through the fray, Terrowyn bathed in the blood of ten thousand soldiers and nobles as he carved a bloody swathe to the throne, where he resides now. Other: As king, he’s set a very strict set of rules to be followed by everyone. Rules: 1. Only the King’s guard and members of the Royal Family may be armed within castle grounds. 2. Initiating fights in the castle grounds is punishable by death. 3. If you are not with the ORDER NAME, you are by default working against the King. 4. Anyone may be taken in for questioning, for any reason, at any time. 5. Capital punishment will be inflicted in accordance with the severity of the crime. 6. Appearance: Terrowyn’s appearance has changed since his curse. He had dark brown hair, now bleached white by the curse. Under dim lights, it seems silvery, and in natural light, it reflects gold. Terrowyn has a light tan, a testament to his more active days in his youth. His eyes, previously light blue, are now murky navy.

Terrowyn Bryce Frey was a strange man, and a stranger choice as King for most. Few knew the story of his rise to power, and even fewer knew about his connections to the previous king. Those who were in the know, most likely the older of the noble families, recalled to themselves with a hint of surprise the little, nominal House of Frey that had stood as long as this kingdom had, that had never claimed the spotlight, and then suddenly disappeared, leaving only the b*****d son to continue his family legacy. As he'd ascended the bloody steps on that fateful day, the whispers of the wounded and the judgement of the corpses had burned in his ears and peppered the wind, bringing the news far and wide to the meanest peasant family. He could see the uncertainty, and the hate born of ignorance and distrust in the eyes of the man currently on bended knee before him. Even if the evidence hadn't been shockingly clear as it was here, Terrowyn would have taken no chances. He gave a little, cold laugh as the man began to speak, before a flicker of a gesture signalled for the guards to take the man away and execute him. As the armoured men bowed and began to retreat, their King beckoned to the leader in their midst. "Sir Doran, the card." The knight bowed and retrieved the distinguishing evidence from the struggling man, before sending his men off to the dungeons with a wave. Once the card was in his hand, Terrowyn studied the blood-flecked object with nothing apparent in his expression but for apathy. Reaching into his robes, Terrowyn drew out three more identical cards, fanning the collection out in his hand. Two of the four were spotted and stained with marks of war and age, but the other two were merely crumpled, and had only accumulated a layer of dust, and nothing else. Shuffling them idly, the King nodded at the solemn procession at the door, to allow them to enter. Though this prisoner was very much different from the ones he'd seen all day, Terrowyn's expression hardly changed, but for the beginnings of a sneer that began to curl his lips. "Your Grace," began the guard, shoving the huddled figure forward, "this woman claims no connection to the previous culprit, but we found him in her house. It was evident that he'd been there for some time, and-" "Nothing further, then. This woman has been caught harbouring a member of the Black Rose. Execute the two alongside each other." There came a brief scuffle from the woman and the guards that were restraining her, before a fair head and pale face emerged from the folds of her ragged robes. To her breast, the woman cradled a child, barely months old. "Tyrant." The word was spat out as the woman attempted to shake free, her ice-blue eyes sparking with rage. She stared at Terrowyn as if to continue, but one of the guards struck her over the face roughly. Unperturbed, she spat at the guard, speaking again with that same hard, stiff tone. "I've a babe, your Grace. I'm not affiliated with the League in any way-" The King merely shifted position in his throne to view the woman more clearly. He had to admit, that she, despite the ragged clothing and grime, was quite attractive, and and had the bearing of one of the lesser nobles' women. Terrowyn's expression then shifted into a slightly sinister smile as a guard clamped an armoured fist over her mouth. "The law is hard, but it is the law. You should know this, and know that I cannot make any exceptions for you." Then he addressed the guards. "Cut out her tongue. We cannot have her spreading her slander to the ears of the innocent, now, can we?" All this was said with the airy, cordial tone of a close friend, but there was an underlying hint of steel in his voice. Terrowyn waved a hand, his signal for the culprit to brought down to the dungeons for execution. "The child," he added, almost as an afterthought, "take it back to the village on your next patrol. It has done no wrong." He emphasized these last three words with a false, benevolent smile, seeing the desperation and anguish in the mother who was about to abandon her son, by no choice of her own. As the procession trailed out, the flow of people coming in through the wide, ornate double doors began to trickle to a steady stream of castle staff. It seemed that his public duties were done for the day. Shedding his heavy robes, Terrowyn descended from the raised platform, still shuffling the curious cards around in his hands as he made his way to his office, trailed by five of the royal guard. Upon entering the room, he requested the presence of the Duke, watching the messenger scurry off before taking a seat in front of a giant sheaf of documents.

Will O' The Wisp General Information: Will O' The Wisps are atmospheric ghost lights seen by travellers at night, especially over bogs, swamps or marshes. It resembles a flickering lamp and is said to recede if approached, drawing travellers from the safe paths. Sometimes the lights are believed to be the spirits of unbaptized or stillborn children, flitting between heaven and hell.
Appearance: They are usually seen from a distance as bright points of light that resemble lanterns at night. Up close, they can be seen as ghostly, glowing young children or at whatever life stage they have reached since their death.

Selkie // Swan Maiden General Information: Selkies are said to live as seals in the sea but shed their skin to become human on land. The legend apparently originated on the Orkney and Shetland Islands and is very similar to those of swan maidens. Where selkies have sealskin, Swan Maidens have a coat of feathers which can be used, to the same effect, for changing back and forth between the two forms. If the respective animal parts are hidden, the Selkies and Swan Maidens must remain on land with the owner until she finds it again. Both races have both genders, but tend towards the females.
Appearance: Selkies have the upper bodies of females, and a seal's tail from the waist down. If her sealskin is stolen, she assumes the form of a human female, with legs where her tail previously was.
Abilities: > generally very attractive > Swan Maidens can transform into swans; Selkies into seals > Swan Maidens can control air/wind; Selkies can control water > both races are significantly stronger in their element > slight stature allows for high speed
