The smile on her face quickly disappeared as she saw a black and white rabbit shout out "FARMER!" with a piece of flay-rah in his/her mouth.. "Oh no... I hope this little fella didn't lead the farmer our way" she said as she stared worryingly at Ray, who's crazy enough to walk towards a dying pfeffa, then at Crocus.. She twitched her ears nervously as she waited for the doe's instructions.

Ray breathed a sigh of relief as the cat dragged itself away. He found himself feeling terribly sorry for the creature - still not really understanding where he was or what just happened. He only knew he felt a waft of calming sensation floating down through he body and was able to smile again, "What shall become of the wee fuzzy critter?" he wondered aloud... "Perhaps I shall whisper some tales in his ear as he drifts into sweet slumber" he began to follow the blood trail, hopping over to the hay where the cat had buried itself, tilting his head as he figured the best way to go about this, "Sweet fuzzy thing, how are ye feeling? Nono don't speak! I'll just let the soothing coo of me voice drift melodically through your ears... cooooooooooOOOOooooo"

User ImageAs one of the other runners reported in, Crocus snapped out of her blood fury. "Farmer? Got it. Get out of here!" she said to the runner before wheeling around and facing her team. "All right, does and bucks. This is it! No amount of food is worth getting shot at. Everybody, grab what you can and get out of the silo! Stick to the shadows. Dogsbane comes back with a confirmation that the cat's dead, we'll head home."

As her team began to pull out, she felt something stick to her paw. A bloodied triangle of flesh and fur, the cat's ear. She paused for a moment, wrinkling her nose, then decided to take it with her. It was a grisly trophy, but a beautiful reminder of what even civilians could do when put to the test. It was a testament to the courageous heart of a rabbit and the love and pride of Watership's rabbits for their warren. It was proof that you didn't need the brutalness from the tales of Efrafra to be warriors. Her team had done so well tonight, and she was intensely proud of all of them. Even Ray.

Hearing that, Camellia sprung to her feet and ran to the pile of hay and nudged Ray. "Ray, stop talking to him and take this" she said as she shoved some hay towards him. She did not want anything to do with cat nor think about the cat, and proceeded to talk really loud to Ray again. "Follow me closely! We have to go NOW!" and with that she took a big bite into the pile of hay, avoiding anything with blood on it, and started to head for the door desperately wanting to get out of the silo...

Dogsbane didn't let the cat get far. He was annoyed that Ray had gone to speak the cat to sleep and actually broke his usual eagerness and lightness for a serious moment.

"OY! Ray, was it? What in Frith's name are you doing out here?! Hraka! Thought you'd speak soft stories to the beast that's wounded our own like its some sort of kitten?!"
He didn't hesitate dropping the patch of cat's flesh and fur- his own trophy- and sharply nipping the other's tail. "Move back to the other's NOW or I will kill you myself before another animal does." He had not come this far so the other could put them in danger.

He cautiously shifted through the hay until he found the cat's body, warm and bloody but not moving. Its life had ended. He picked up the fur once more and bolted back to the group. "We're in the clear, Crocus."

(sorry about that werefox. XD; Dogs is a bit of the earthly type.)

Darkbrier gathered up as much as she could carry, taking great care to keep hold on the flay-rah. She was going to make absolutely certain that it got back to the warren. She gave an exasperated glare in Ray's direction and shook her head. She'd give him a moment to come back to them on his own, and then she'd go out and drag him back by the ears. She'd have preferred to be able to move on her own to the side of the group, because right now she was slower than the others, but also harder to see because of her dark fur. But if she had to drag the crazy old buck back to the warren herself she'd damn well do it. Things weren't going what she would call swimmingly but she'd no desire to lose even the senseless male after they'd all made it through this so far.

Linnet was finally starting to catch her breath while waiting for the next orders.
Grab what you can, eh? Linnet looked around her immediate area, a small bundle of hay laid beside her. The winter months would be long a cold, so hay could be used as food as well as insulator. She grabbed it up in her mouth and got ready to leave the horrid silo.

She squeezed her way through the entrance and heard some of the others at the side of the silo, trying to get Ray to move. She hopped nearer, her mouth full of hay, when she spotted Camellia. She approached the doe and nodded, not being able to talk with her mouth full.

User ImageGrabbing what she could and satisfied that her team would do the same, Crocus sprinted towards the silo door. The night air felt fresh and cool on her back, and she turned to face the down. "Come on! Everybody out, we're going home!"

Scanning the room as she ran, still avoiding puddles of blood, Camellia was concentrating on getting out of the door, and slowed down almost to a complete halt. She had a feeling Ray was not following behind her.... Swallowing saliva down a dry thirsty throat, she sighed and left him where he is. And continued to stick to the group.

While not the cleanest thing in the world she could do in light of her injuries right now, Darkbrier did the only thing she could think to on the fly and rolled in the dirt outside to help cover up the blood and her wounds. She then did as she was told and began the trek home, hoping her state wouldn't make things any more difficult for the others on the way back.

With the rabbits scampering in all directions, mostly just trying to get away, they had caught the attention of the dog, now loose from his chain.

He had far to run though, before reaching them. A whole field, in fact.

User ImageWith her team out of the silo, Crocus gave Dogsbane the nod to take the lead. She took the rear again, protecting her team's flank. Time was of the essence here. She'd heard a gunshot. She didn't know if anybody had died, but she knew one thing: if anybody else was going to die that night, it wouldn't be one of the rabbits she was responsible for. She sped up a bit, running close to Darkbrier. "How are you feeling? Are you able to keep up? He got your back bad, but the bleeding's slowed down."

Not sure how much time went by, Camellia followed closely at Linnet's side as she too heard the gunshot and squeals of other rabbits. Hopefully they made it out alive she thought, focusing her attention on Dogs getting ready to lead them home. She took another quick glance over at Linnet and thumped her feet softly.
