#4 The attack took Erika by surprise, and the beam caught her in the shoulder, burning her clothes and searing her flesh. She patted her shoulder in a panicked manner, putting out the embers that threatened to spread over the rest of her clothing. "Hmph, guess I AM gonna have to take things up a notch," she thought, bringing her bow around again. She breathed deeply then pulled her string back once again. Another arrow materialized, however as she released her string, the arrow split into thousands of needle sized arrows, all of them seeming to home in on Shizuka. ((Not "Ericka". It's Japanese so "Erika", pronounced like this. TT A TT ))

There were far too many for the lithe Shinigami to avoid entirely, even with the use of Shunpo. With a grunt, she recovered, and raised her zanpakuto again, slashing downward and releasing a wave of hard light.

The burning light slammed once more into Erika, knocking her alarmingly close to the edge of the arena. She struggled to keep her opponent from cornering her, and shot another arrow. This time, the arrow morphed mid-flight into a sickle, the blade whistling as it spun through the air.

The Visored's Shunpo carried her safely out of harm's way. She paused to commend her opponent for a moment.
"You're quite skilled. Where did you acquire your powers? You do seem quite similar to the Quincies, but I do not think you are one." She dashed forward, stabbing out in a quick maneuver meant to wound and disable her enemy's arm.

"No, I'm just an ordinary, or mostly ordinary anyway, human," she said with a smile, blocking Shizuka's attack with her bow.
She then raised her bow, preparing to strike with it. The energy broke it's shape and formed what appeared to be a large bat. "Batter up!" Erika yelled as she swung at Shizuka.

"I commend you. I certainly did not expect such power in a human being, friend," Shizuka said with a grin. She retook her stance, and was blindsided by the bat of glowing green energy. She rolled a great many times through the air, but was able to right herself before striking stone, and launched another attack, this time swinging both her zanpakuto and bakkoto.

Erika growled in annoyance as one of the swords sliced her stomach. "Why can't I get it together today and dodge these attacks?!" she wondered, gripping the bleeding wound. "I guess it's just not in the dice..." (Bu-dum tsh!)
She could feel her energy and body getting weaker by the second, and her attack was nothing more than an feeble kick.

"Go and get some rest, girl," she advised her fallen opponent. "You've earned it."

Mariko pulled out one of her throwing axes and threw it in wide arc. While her opponent was (hopefully) busy with the first axe as it swung around in his direction, she threw the second axe directly at him.

As he was getting acclimated to his newly reconstructed body, Watoire was unable to avoid either axe. Magma-hot blood spilled and stained the already filthy arena floor. He cried out with rage, and called upon his illusory powers, appearing before Mariko as a gigantic mess of legs and feelers; some demonic insect. He his within the image, and lashed out with a belched ball of fire.

Mariko recoiled in disgust at the creature before her, dodging around the antenna and legs. She had been eying the creature from a safe distance when the fire ball shot toward her. She leaped to one side and managed to avoid it. Without hesitation, she flung one of her axes toward the insect creature.

The girl's aim was intended for the illusion Watoire had forged, and not the Togabito himself. He dashed forward and punched hard with a spiritually-charged fist.
