What was happening here? Otto just wanted to make himself a sandwich and grab a drink. But there was a crowd. People. A lot of them all in one place at one time. This wouldn't do. Otto didn't like crowds. Hated crowds.
Should he just escape and find a vending machine? Oh.. but he had his little heart set on making a sandwich. Maybe if he left and came back....

Hazel stared at Jerry as he made little red splotches on the napkin turkey's necks. "... That looks... great! I completely forgot about those dangly things they have on their necks." Hazel wound up and gave Jerry a full forced swing-slap on his back, "Nice detail work there, Jerry!"
"Mmmm... Same here, really. I'm a moonie. Grew up in a small town. Uhhh. I like to stick my feet in mud. You know, all that stuff." She nodded as her frizzy hair wafted to the rock of her head.
"Anyone getting that corn or whatever for the jars? I'll go if no one else is going to get it from the kitchen."

Sasha left Wash to the potatoes, rising from the stool to salt the water that they'd boil the vegetables in.
She gave a slight smile to Eva and Minerva in passing, thoughts wandering idly to the awkwardness that awaited her on the other side of the kitchen door.

Jerry gave a startled OOF as he was slapped firmly on the back, protected by Fear and thick scar tissue under his shirt, it knocked the wind out of him temporarily all the same. For being so petite, she definitely packed a punch. His face went red as he glanced to the kitchen door.
Sasha was in there.
He could.... go with an excuse but...
No. No, let her go, she didn't want you, don't be in her face.
He bit his lip. "Er- I'm sure you could find the most colorful dry goods to use!" He offered Hazel carefully.

Melvin saw you Otto. There was no escaping now.
"Otto! How nice of you to join us." Melvin grinned, feeling especially impish to be dragging people to the event. This was a "family" holiday after all, and he'd drag Otto in it to make it feel like it.
Moving over, he expertly sidestepped in his way. "We could really use your help."

"Mud's good for red ant bites, you know," Jordan said conversationally, setting another turkey in line for a wattle. "So, y'know, if you end up stepping on an anthill, you've got that covered." Non sequitur counterfire.
His eyebrows lifted a little as Jerry looked to the kitchen, reddened, and opted to avoid going in there. That implied that he was avoiding someone - and that inference, combined with his generally cleaner appearance and determination, was a good sign. About time. "We've got the turkeys under control," Jordan told Hazel. "See what you can find."

"I can take a few bug bites!" pumping her fist into the air, like she just didn't care. Actually that was a good thing Jordan mentioned it. Otherwise she might have been temped to stick her feet in every mud puddle she sees. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I'll just make my own mud slops then." She smiled and gave the two dudes a wave, heading into the kitchen. It was getting pretty hot in the kitchen, but surprisingly not much of a yummy food smell yet. Where was the turkey? First thing she spotted was Sasha peeling some veggies and handling a pot. "Hey, can I take a couple of these potatoes?" taking two of them as she was asking. Whether Sasha said yes or no, Hazel took them anyway and crammed them into her overly stuffed back. "Thanks! Also, do we have any dried food? We need it for jars and foot turkeys," then her eyes saw the pantry of canned goods which is probably where they were getting ingredients from. "Oh, never mind, I'll just take some canned corn. Keep up the good work!" she grabbed some various canned foods, corn, beans and whatever else to put into her bag. She continued her quest to scavenge for things for the centerpieces, and squeezed past a couple people then suddenly she noticed one particular blonde kid. Hazel snuck up to the guy and lunged at Otto from behind. At the momentum she was going, her huge bag of miscellaneous things swung up from behind her and forced the two of them forward. "CHUBBY BUNNY!" she shouted in excitement. This was probably really dangerous in a kitchen...

Sasha just.. she couldn't keep up, man.
"What do you need..."
"Dried.. food? For..."
"Foot turkeys...?"
Just.. what?
She just decided it would be best to let Hazel do her Hazel thing, though she did stop to give Otto a smile.

********. It was Melvin. Otto tried to flee then and there, but the taller blonde had blocked his path. "Uh. nah. S'cool. Ya'll just... do whatever you were doin.." Otto wanted to run. Run far.
But now he had a surprisingly heavy migdet flung onto his back.
"APNIEFWEIH---" Otto stumbled forward, bracing the weight by grabbing onto a wall. "Goddammit.." Sasha's smile was met with a strained, somewhat cynical sneer. No hard feelings Sasha. it wasn't personal.
"What the ******** is goin on here... do i even wanna know... Git off my back, chunky."

Jerry's face was still flushed as he concentrated on the turkeys... although the gobbles were getting increasingly more bloody looking. At least it seemed he was saved from the kitchen... for now.
His eyes glanced up to Jordan and down again, "You um. Doing well?"

"Yeah. You're looking less stressed," Jordan said, and started on folding another turkey. He glanced towards the kitchen. "That's the first time I've met Hazel," he mused. "She has a lot of energy."

Hazel was still clinging onto Otto's back like a monkey on a tree branch, "You chubby bunnied me while I was sleeping one time, and then I choked, and then I spat it out and then you laughed even though I got spit on you. We're marshmallow spit siblings now." Hazel laughed and clutched onto him even tighter, making sure he can't pry her off, "I never got you back for that, so now you're gonna get it!" a maniacal laugh came immediately afterwards along with a few hard shakes, rocking her body back and forth.

"I'm... I'm better." He set his jaw and nodded as though it had taken him a moment to convince himself. "Yeah, better." He drew in a deep breath. "Candace gave me a haircut. She wanted it to be short again but I kind of like growing it out, I don't know." He nabbed an orange marker to add beaks to the turkeys next.

"Good to see you taking care of yourself, anyway." Jordan took another napkin. "How many of these should we make, you think?"

"I've got no idea," Jerry laughed weakly, still feeling a bit awkward. "I thought I heard Melvin say he's expecting at least twenty. And any extras we can decorate with I figure..."
