With only a bit of her sense of bravery left, she stared into the eyes of the caterpillar once again, "FUN?! YOU ARE A VERY SICK, SICK CREATURE!" She wanted to slap the hookah from that thing's mouth, but clutched her fist instead.

When he tossed her the box, she wrinkled her nose as she opened it. A tiny mushroom. "Eat it? EAT THIS!"

Bea threw the mushroom on the ground and began stomping on it. "YOU AND YOUR SICK mind.... games..."

and with that, Bea fainted.

Hi Mr. Caterpillar. Arynek came to test her bravery again.
The shadow ghoul listened to the instructions, closed her eyes and relaxed, prepared herself for the upcoming challenges.

"That was a fun game, don't you think?"

When she heard someone's talking, Arynek stopped her resolute walk and opened her eyes slowly.

No more fogs.

It was the caterpillar's talking to her. After his tease-like comments, he threw her the so-called prize. It was a tiny mushroom, labelled Eat Me. The shadow ghoul stared at her "reward" and thought while she frowned. The treat labelled Eat Me made her grow into a giant while the bottle labelled Drink Me made her smaller. Well, it's only a game, she won't die at all, even though the feeling could be bad, but that's experience, right?

She ate the mushroom and the shadow ghoul found herself shrinking while she lost consciousness once again.

It was a familiar sensation for Eisheth: smoking some kind of plants that provide illusions. In fact, it was in a way similar to Death clan's trance, the priestesses just could do that without any ingredients. So, the alchemist was not really surprised finding herself in a surreal world; she will try her best to get out properly.

The first step, however, sent her flying into a deep pit. That was a tense moment: Eisheth could notice the spikes awaiting her in the end, but the moment she gave in to fear, she found herself on a wet, crumbly ground. Illusions. She should not succumb. That said, it wasn't that easy: right after she stood up, she noticed a group of hunters running in her direction. There were too many of them, and she had to escape swiftly...

...something in her illusion went wrong: perhaps, from the moment she felt the fear of fallin into the pit. Now she had no control over it. A melody, chaotic and devastating, haunted her ears causing her head to ache, and mind to fade away in the unstructured sounds. Eisheth was seeing a dream inside a dream now: she was standing on a little hill with a distant plain grassland surrounding her. A scent, familiar, too familiar, was irritating and disgusting, - yet sweet and somehow appealing at the same time. She opened her eyes: the land around her was covered with bodies... no, better say parts of bodies. She blinked. It was impossible to make a mistake: she were seeing her people, her kin, her clan: all of them, one by one, lying next to each other.

That was too harsh. Perhaps, even the Horseman of Famine had a weak spot.

Van shut his eyes just briefly. At least, he thought it was only brief. He opened them again, and saw his pack, the ones he'd left: they were wrestling, all taking turns, and whooping and cheering. He heard a voice, his own young voice, call out from somewhere in the past. All the wrestling stopped, and the pack looked up collectively, and then they all started to growl-- it might have seemed sinister, but the young Van was giggling madly. They enveloped him in the biggest ball of wrestling brothers and sisters he could have ever asked for. It was wonderful to remember that, to remember his family and how much that night had meant. The first night he'd really understood what it was to be part of a pack. They had your back. They loved him.

Much like the mushrooms that now started to smother Van in kisses, stirring him from his pleasant memory. "Eugh, gross! No! If you were cupcakes I might allow this to continue, but.. nasty! Off! get off me!" And his sad, pathetic whimper and howl carried across the mushroom forest, cutting through the weirdness. It was only interrupted by a weird smell, a pink haze, and Oh Jack that smell was disgusting! Van dry-heaved, trying to keep his delicious cake and tarts inside his stomach. He was so disgusted by the sheer nastiness of the smell, coupled with the sensitivity of his nose, that he couldn't even say anything in retort.

He just held his stomach, bent over, and hoped it would end. That, or life-- one or the other would be okay. From out of that misery, he heard his mum's voice, singing: Don't cry, little puppy, the moon's on high; don't weep, my wolfish boy, it's yours to keep. The melody kept on drifting around him. He just wanted to cry, or smile, or a little of both. He couldnt' actually cry, he was a devil's dandy dog, but he did feel a little better.

Until the cuddle threats returned, and the overwhelming smell. This time, however, he held onto the memory of his mother's voice, of his family play-wrestling, and staggered onwards. He kept on keeping on until he was done.

She would stay in the mushroom forest all day if she could. Sure it probably wasn't safe, but the bakeneko was very amused by "the pretty mushrooms." But of course she was on a mission, so she kept walking until she reached the caterpillar.

When Thackery's eyes opened, the scenery hadn't changed too much. There were still mushrooms everywhere, but these were a bit smaller, barely reaching his shins. He tapped one with his foot before trying to wade through them, holding his head high and proud as he thought of how satisfying it would be to prove that caterpillar wrong.

Something kissed him.

Startled, he spun around, trying to spot the culprit. Something kissed his other cheek. He held his hands over both cheeks, but that left his lips unguarded...and, of course, that's where they attacked next.

Which is when he realized the mushrooms were kissing him.

He swatted them away, breath catching with worry. Couldn't you catch diseases from kissing mushrooms?!

All he could do was hurry past them, moving until he couldn't feel any of them assaulting him anymore. Running seemed to do the trick; it didn't seem to be as foggy now, and something that looked very much like the caterpillar sat ahead of him.

"Told you, about bravery!" he called, as smugly as he could manage. He didn't even bother to listen to what the caterpillar had to say, which might have been a good idea, considering the thing had just thrown a box at him. He made a face at the box, then made a face at the caterpillar, and opened it.

Another treat! He nearly dumped it into his mouth before he remembered what the first treat had done. Peering suspiciously at this 'room', he decided he didn't want to see what would happen if it shrank.

He smashed it.
