Cass gave Robert a guarded look, physically recoiling away from him and into Leon before she looked away from him and just buried her face into the boxer's shoulder, pulling her hood up over her head.

She didn't want Robert to be telling her anything and her body language read that clearly.

Minerva heard the rustle of many feet move toward the grieving group. She could just make out the shift of white sheets drape across limp forms, and she cringed when the cries of others erupted. She fell into the silence that had worried her before with so much ease, tears finally rolling over the rims of her lids and down her cheeks. When she felt Deryk collapse against her, head pressed to her shoulder, Minerva began to rock slowly.

"Do you need anything?" She questioned in a whisper close to his ear, trying to distract herself from what transpired some ways from them. Bix, Ceres, Caelius...dead...It was impossible and yet--it was real. Minerva didn't expect Deryk to answer. She knew what most likely consumed his thoughts, and being the shoulder to lean on was really all she needed to do for him at this point...but again she broke the quiet for a moment. "Water? Bandages?"

Nevada cocked her head at the death trainee and continued her smile. If she responded to the snappy retort, it was done with gentleness and kindness.

"Alright, If you need anything let me know. The ones who stayed here are all about helping. Ah, Sorry. My name is Nevada, of Mist." She hesitated with the hand that went to touch his shoulder before pulling it back.

Besides offering bandages and water, there wasn't much else the huntress could do. Especially since she didn't know what was going on.

/I told you to leave the weak hunters alone Pidge. You know what the weak do, they mope and they whine and sit there-/

Roy! Stop. Your being mean for no reason.

/Hah! If we had gone on that mission, we would be sitting there as well. Lucky for us, we haven't been reduced to their status.../

The mist hunter just sighed and turned around. Yeah, with Leroy in her head and ignorance, this trainee was just sticking her foot in her mouth...or head.

Cass' reaction made Robert want to sigh with sickening satisfaction. He watched her recoil from him - smart move, of course - and then bury herself into Leon. What a pal, that Leon. He would never forget how good of a guy he really was. He patted Leon's shoulder softly, before leaning in, and whispering into Cass' hood.

"Marcus is a piece of lifeless stone." No tenderness. No gentle words. Neither did he say it with vicious intent. He just told her the facts, and ingested the satisfaction of knowing this would kill her the way seeing Petra's broken body had killed him.

It was enough.

"They'll carry him in through the portal, soon. Then they'll take him away. Unless.. you needed a new lawn ornament at your new house?" Oh yes, he knew exactly where you lived, Cass. "'Cause I'd be glad to carry it over, for you."

What a guy.

He didn't speak he even stopped singing. He saw the two bodies the white sheet and the rushed actions as the bodies where carted away.

He stood up slowly still holding his tablet. He turned away from everything slowly shuffling towards the door.

"She's dead.... Ceres is dead... Sylvia is a... a stone..." He continued to shuffle onward.

"Wrong," Madison hissed at Ro's retreating back.

Then she reached into her obi and pulled out one of her rolls of bandages, wiping away her tears with it before unfurling it and wrapping it tightly around Kouki's tablet, swaddling it like a baby and returning her attentions to it. No, he was wrong. She could ignore wrong things.

Clerise had spent the last few nights ill. It involved runic tech, a dare, and attempting to digest an augmented pendant.

It ended poorly for all parties involved, especially Clerise's digestive system, before Sunny fed her ipecac and insisted she vomit it all up. The b***h had the nerve to look so smug about it, too.

Nonetheless, she was here to greet some people on their return.

Specifically, she went looking Dakota and Otto.

Kostya busied himself with passing out water, bandages, and etc to the various returning hunters.

He did so on autopilot, nodding idly at anyone who attempted to talk to him, feigning ignorance as best he could. The Russian was not in the mood to deal with anyone, right now.

Because he was waiting for someone: one Mimsy Kercher.

Worry filled him as people filed in, and none of them were his friend.

Anxiety. Dread. Fear.

[[ENTERING]]

He was in no mood to deal with others and now he was stuck here with others. Tablet still in his arms he moved to crouch down somewhere a bit from the main group and he then proceeded to do what he did best in a time of crisis and unsettling changes: he brooded.

Jude pulled his cowl over his head just enough to hide his face so no one could see his expression or what he was doing. Caelius was gone it seemed.

...As was Bix and Ceres though he never knew Ceres he still felt a bit of sadness for her. Caelius he wasn't sure how to feel about that one, not one bit.

Just as the moon hunter was going to leave, he spotted a familiar pair of redheaded buns and bright red eyes.

"Clerise..." The moon hunter looked around as he came over to her and sighed in relief that she was not hurt like them, and safe from the horror.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets and turned his head so that she couldn't see the red puffy eyes from crying all over Candace. At this point though, he didn't know what to say.

"Chama's tableted....Ceres is Dead, Marcus is a stone ******** statue..." Dakota stiffened, "s**t, s**t sorry I'm just...I'm reeling. I've been a mess...I can't even talk to Chama about this.."

His eyes fell, "I'm so ******** lost Clerise..." And hurt and sad and feels.

Ryan remained where he was, feeling more angry, dizzy, sore, depressed, and alone than he had ever felt in his entire life. It all felt like one bad nightmare. One where he was still waiting to wake up from. But as always, reality wouldn't let him have it that way. Instead he was on the ground, with a broken arm, their friends dead, and Locke as a stone tablet, while he clutched at the side of his head with his one good hand, in an attempt to drown out the noises around him.

What was it all even for?

He couldn't even recall what the point of the mission was. What did they even accomplish aside from adding to the death toll? As far as he could tell they were set up to fail from the start and now everyone was--

In his attempt to block everything out, he hadn't noticed Wilson's approach. Or at least, not until the death trainee slid down beside him, looking more worn out than he had ever seen him before.

"It was all so ******** pointless..!"

It shouldn't have been said. The regret that leon felt as robert sealed the deal was heavy, heavier than nid.

it should have been him. the guilt he had was immeasurable. He should have been a man and told her.

there was no chance to take it back. So he fled, he fled with cass in hand, away from the scene, away from robert.

"Hey," she said, reaching out to lay a calloused hand on his shoulder, squeezing it.

"You don't look so hot, brat," was her blunt reply and then--

"Oh, baby," she murmured, moving in to give the tall teen a hug. "Hey. Believe me when I say I know how that feels, at the weapon thing--"

Clerise had no idea who Ceres was, and was shocked to find that Marcus was ...a statue?-- but she had bigger fish to fry. And that meant making sure her brat was holding himself together, because he had done the same for her. She still had the feather in her hair, tucked behind her right ear, woven into the red locks.

They weren't an item and they were far from exclusive-- but they were friends. Something he sorely needed.

"What did you guys fight out there?" she breathed, a question in her words. Another Moon hunter gave her the evil eye, something about not traumatising the victims. "Christ."

"I'm not going to feed you a line about how to cope with it. Not right now. You need to get the ******** to bed, is what." She pulled away, concern written on her face, clear as day.

"You want some company? Not for anything fun-- just. To be there. Being alone without your weapon-- it's. It's hard."

Gramps’ tablet was placed in his lap once more. He brought his legs up and let his arms cross each other while placed between his legs. For someone so used to filling silence with pointless, friendly chatter, Wilson found himself speechless while he leaned the back of his head against the wall. There were no words of comfort he could offer Ryan when he could barely keep himself together, but the sight of others and the sobbing in the background forced him to pull tighter at the threads, to keep the contents called Wilson Hopkins glued together.

“Don’t say that,” he chastised in a quiet, weak tone. “We shouldn’t think of their…deaths as pointless. I don’t want to think of it like that.” But in the end, Wilson could barely remember why they had been sent into the fog in the first place. Something about observing the Insanity? Wilson held back a snort. Yeah, they sure learned a lot about that. Eventually he turned his head to face Ryan and looked down at his arm. “Has someone bandaged that properly yet? I know I sort of popped it back and made a splint, but that’s only until you get some better medical attention.”

Wilson brushed his arm against Ryan’s, careful not to put a lot of pressure. “You have to take care of yourself too.”

Gale continued to cry and with each sob Candace's heart felt tighter and tighter in her chest. No. Not her Gale, not her little Gale. She bit down on her lip and held her breath until she couldn't any longer, exhaling in a slow, shaky breath and finally pulling Gale from Eva's arms. "I-I'm sorry Eva, I can't I just..I can't...see him like this. I'm sorry I.." But she was already holding Gale against her, burying her face into his hair and hugging him tightly as she sat down on a cot with him. He was alive, he was safe, he would be okay. She loved him so much, her little Gale. He'd be okay, he had to be. He'd been through so much already..

She held him, rocking from side to side with the young boy and murmuring quietly in his ear until finally his sobs quieted and his breath became somewhat more even. Candace blinked, lifting her head and looking down at the boy beside her. Oh...he fell asleep. Frowning, Candace looked up at Eva. "Can you help me? I think...I think I'm going to take him to bed, somewhere he can calm down in private." She waited for Eva's answer before she turned and offered the girl her back, carrying Gale piggyback one for his dignity and two because she wasn't strong enough to carry him princess style no matter how small he was. Atropos' tablet was tucked under one arm as she hefted the boy comfortably on her back, slowly beginning to make her way out of the infirmary and back to the dorms. "I'll bring him up to my room. It's quiet there, and I'd rather he be close by where we can keep an eye on him...you're free to come if you like, Eva." Candace offered the girl a warm smile, heading out with the little blonde in her arms.

((Exit. GMed Gale with permission okay.))
