Sheridan could not hit the broad side of a barn, clearly, so why he kept playing these games he did not know. Maybe he was just too stubborn to give up, or may he was hoping he'd eventually get lucky and hit something. Either way, it was probably best not to throw knives when one is irritated.

Oh, he hit a target! Too bad it wasn't the target he'd been aiming for. Well, at least he didn't end up with a bucket of water over his head.

The Fu Dog was back to try is luck at throwing darts since Adiyan did like to throw pointy objects at things. He also hope that his luck would get a little better than the last game he played but regardless he was still having fun.

He hit a target not the one that he was aiming for but it was better than nothing right. But the one thing that he wasn't expecting to have the horseman throw a bucket of water onto him. Growling softly since Adiyan didn't like getting wet as he was also taking deep breaths to keep his temper from getting the best of him. He would be back to try his luck and not get wet again either.

Yes he knew, "peace" was such a . . . transient thing for them.

Oh look, it was Ms. Hair Flipper. Shik bared his teeth in a smile at her question and tossed water on the hapless fu dog who had hit the lucky number. "Enough to not make me restless staying in one place," he answered cheerfully as he threw said boil and the dragon before him a feather token for their efforts - towards the face hopefully. He was starting to aim at participants' eyes for the hell of it.

Picking up one of the turkey leggs, Shik tore into it and passed the women a look as he lazed against the wall and set the bucket down. "Shaheen tells me you're manning a booth that requires a horseman to actively put his lips on any cheap b*****d who'll pay," he went on to drawl between bites. "Score one for the Clans in the restoration of our glory."

Maggie turned towards the woman who'd spoken to her as she reached to put a feather behind her ear. "Oh, uh...", Maggie sputtered out. She wasn't used to people touching her ears without asking. She wasn't about to say anything to this woman since she seemed quite powerful, and hadn't actually hurt her. "Yeah...yeah, I'm a shapeshifter..." This was one of the few people that made Maggie nervous, and that was hard to do. Hopefully she could become friends with her. She'd honestly hate to meet this woman in a dark alley, considering she could most likely turn her into a throw-rug. "I, uh...I'm Maggie"

Lan had been kissed somewhat against her will and was hoping to have those memories rubbed into the dirt. She wasn't going to speak of them, she wasn't going to think about them, and most of all, she was going to rip the face off of whoever brought it up to her. She wasn't going to speak of her shame and disgust.
Thoughts for another time.

Nodding as she discovered that only one had been such a fool to cut the rope, gold eyes flicked over to the horseman. So, he was the one mostly dumping the water then? How fitting. "It is an honor to meet you Shaheen of war." Lan gave a small smile. "I find it nice to know that those of the other clans have taken part to set up booths. Dagger throwing is a skill not quite practiced by my people, much less those of my rank. It is... fun to try my skills at such things, even if a game. Though, it is a pity we could not have a fear extraction contest... humans are such frail creatures. It would have been an exciting game don't you think?"

Shikoba got another look, this one bordering on resigned. "Yes, though that is not the only thing we offer. Fortunes, tea- the wisdom of conquest. But, there will be more honor to the one who has brought us the highest profits. Soren does his part for the benefit of us all, and we must honor his sacrifice and suffering. Emperor knows that he takes no true pleasure in it, as I would expect, none of us would. But these," she paused, trying not to insult them, "halloweeners find him attractive, and we cannot really blame them for wishing to have the touch of a horseman. The weak desire the strong, a basic nature."

She waved her hand in the air. "All in all, our toil will be rewarded, and the clans will benefit. We must play to our strengths." She sighed. "And not 'harm' the students."

She would have liked to. Some of them needed a good trashing in her mind.

Ravnos might have liked the booth, but Shaheen did not like Ravnos. The second the vampire was turned around and walking away, she picked a rock up off of the ground and fastened a consolation prize feather to it with a piece of string, then through it at the back of his head. Hard.

The chieftain blinked, having quite forgotten about the student with the fluffy black cat ears that she had asked a question of earlier, and turned her attention towards her momentarily. "And what, exactly, do you shape into?" She asked, again keeping her words blunt and to the point. She hadn't asked earlier just to make pleasant conversation or anything! She just wanted some answers. Although she did offer a smirk to take the edge off of her tone, and pushed another dagger towards the ghoul, and invitation for her to try the game again.

And now back to Shikoba and Lan. "If you find yourself getting restless, I'm sure I could come up with something to keep you occupied for awhile." She suggested to Shik, leaving the implications of what she might be suggesting quite vague. Of course, she meant that they could perhaps have a "friendly" spar of sorts...though then again, she knew how that usually ended. Probably not appropriate in the middle of a festival.

And then at his next words she shot a glance at him, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Oh Shikoba, behaving in your usual charming self! At least Shaheen was in a good enough mood to appreciate it for once, instead of using it to start an argument or a fight.

"Oh is it not?" She replied to the noblewoman in regards to dagger throwing. "We are, of course, trained in all forms of armed combat, though some may find they prefer certain methods over others." Shaheen had had to learn to be proficient in everything she set herself to, however. She would not have been risen to chieftain if it had not been so.

Hrrmmm, fear extraction contests. The idea had merit! Shaheen quickly decided that she liked this woman, and if Shikoba seemed to dislike her for some reason, well...that only further intrigued Shaheen, and possibly made her like the conquest noble even more. She gave her a smile and a nod to show that she agreed, but then let her continue on in her explanation of the kissing booth. It made sense, really, when she put it the way that she did.

The concept of it still made Shaheen feel uneasy, however. She tried to mentally put herself in the position of the stallion who was selling his lips to anybody who had a bit of silver to offer, and it made her stomach roil. He was either incredibly strong and brave, or he had no sense of pride whatsoever.

"So you are saying that the best that he has to offer are his lips?" She raised brows at that. After all, Lan had just said that they must play to their strengths. Was that really all this Soren had going for him? That was just sad. "Surely there are better ways then selling ourselves, our bodies, to them." She wasn't trying to start an argument, but was trying to understand.

Sin hadn't been to the island, and she wasn't exactly familiar with the horsemen and women who had returned and since settled about the Academy, so she approached with caution. She'd heard that bad things had happened and the few she had met were either aloof or working on things that Sin didn't want to disrupt. This however seemed relatively safe, after all Fright Night was a place to mingle.

She stepped up and eyed the targets and the daggers, hmmm should she test her skill...or luck as it were. She smiled and decided to try, what harm could it cause after all?

Giving her wrist a little warm up flick she picked up a knife and tried to take aim...

Her eyes widened in delight and surprise as she managed to hit a target almost dead on, and fortunately not one that doused her with water. She gave the horsemen a beaming smile and then moved to let the others try feeling her spirits quite lifted.

Freya was really starting to get the hang of all of these games with throwing or shooting lethal weapons. It was fun! She hadn't visited this booth yet, and she was intent to fix that now. So she picked up some daggers, and flung them at the targets-

No, she flung them way off the targets. In fact, she might have actually hit someone behind the targets. It was hard to say, exactly.

"I guess I'm not-" Someone just THREW A BUCKET OF WATER AT HER WHAT.

"WHAT."

WHAT.

Quote:
17- Shaheen picks up one of the replacement buckets of water sitting on the ground inside the booth and smirks before throwing it on you. Surprise! ((unless you are a fire based student. Then she just shakes her head at you in disappointment) You win nothing!

Riiiiip. Chew chew chew chew.

The ladies had to wait while Shikoba tore into the turkey legg, which was clearly more important than the conversation because it was obvious he still didn't hold Soren's position very high in regard, profits and logic or not. But then, Shik still considered the majority of Halloweeners to be like so many pets, and with that ego of his, well . . .

"As entertaining as a Fear extraction booth might have been, it'd still only be a hollow version of the real hunt," the horseman commented with a shrug, passing Shaheen a cheeky look over the legg. Yes you certainly could, chieftain. He let her do the explaining as he finished off his meal, examining the cleaned bone with satisfaction when he heard the shinck of a dagger embedding itself by his feet and the telltale signs of water being dumped on a hapless student.

DAMN IT SHAHEEN HE WANTED TO DO THAT.

"Move along, skin and bones, and try again later," Shik growled at the valkyrie, tossing at her head both the consolation feather as well as a turkey legg. It was his consolation prize since he didn't get to do the bucket honors. "The magic numbers are 19 and 9."

Now back to the conversation about Soren's . . . lips. Shik rolled his eyes.

You can't have all of the fun all of the time, Shik. Shaheen got to throw water on those who nearly impaled her with a dagger from time to time as well. "You can have the next one, if you continue to behave yourself." She smirked up at him, dropping the now empty bucket back to the ground.

She was very aware that at this point, she was just asking for trouble from the other war horsemen. They really could not continue to get along in an enclosed environment for much longer, could they?

The noble shook her head. "We train in archery and spears, some will go for the swords or other weapons, but the bow and spear are the weapons of our clan. Many nobles take the bow, as we train to be able to take down our enemies with a single shot. Precision. Waste nothing, let your enemy tremble in the knowledge that even so far, you have the power to crush them in one swift movement. Plus, both weapons are a bit of an art form. The fluid motions of drawing the bow taught, the arc of the spear as it takes a limb- A master of the spear might be a hair's breath away, gutting their opponent like a pig, yet not a drop of blood will spill upon them." A air of pride, she'd known such warriors.

Known.

"War knowing the most forms of battle does not surprise me, merely the efficiency of which your people do so. Then again, most of my battles took place in the form of words." Nobility saw battle, usually with each other. "War's proficiency and mastery is a quality found no where else, most certainly not in this lackadaisical halloween. I cannot help but admire it." A truth.

The last part however, made Lan stutter. "H-his-he- pardon?" She'd walked herself right into that one. A fool of her for it too. "I- I think not. His is the rank of guardian. His skills are much different as I understand. Protection of the priestesses and battle. I am doubtful that his... lips are what he is most skilled with." Soren, why she was defending you she hadn't a clue. Still a look of indignation was across her face. "There are many ways to earn the silver seeds, but that is his way that he has chosen, and he takes no pleasure in it. He's been rather... disgusted with them as far as I know." A huff, she shook her head.

"If he could do a booth on bodygaurding and earn just as much, I am sure he'd have chosen that. I am not him however, I can only speculate." And blush a bit, trying to think of something other then the kissing booth factor of where she'd been recently working. "Fear extraction would make a poor hunt yes, but maybe it would show these halloweeners how much more efficient it is for gathering FEAR."

Redirection attempt go.

Feeling a bit more at ease, Maggie took the dagger and played with it in her fingers. "I shift into a black panther...but I really only do it to hunt, or when I...", she tapered off, feeling a little embarrassed to admit that she could lose her temper in such a terrible way. She started to feel the animal part of her rise at her shame, brushing against her consciousness. Her eyes flicked to the board behind the horsewoman, and with suddenly deft fingers, threw the knife, burying it into the board.

Shaheen had also been trained in archery, and would have liked to have thought that she was quite good at it, even if her summoned weapon was a dagger. She was more partial to long range combat, however, and always had been, so her smirk warmed into something closer to a smile. The noblewoman's descriptions towards the utilization and methods of conquest's preferred weapons had the chieftains blood singing in response, her craving towards conflict mounting inside of her. She cast a quick glance over towards Shikoba, wondering if she might be able to convince him into joining her in a spar later.

She knew she probably wouldn't have to try too hard.

Lan spoke in such an eloquent manner, and in a tone that demanded attention. It was hard to ignore, and so her attention was drawn back towards her as a further explanation towards the kissing booth was given. "I see." was her only comment as she pondered over the other woman's words. "One moment please." She murmured, before directing her attention back to the ghoul who had thrown the dagger for a second time, this time hitting the middle target, earning her a look of approval.

"Much better." She slid the tokens up across the booth top towards her. "And a panther, hm?" She seemed almost amused, noting the student's sudden embarrassment. "Are you for some reason ashamed of your more primal form?" She asked, giving the ghoul something to think about before turning her attention back towards the woman of conquest, a decision having been made.

She eyed Lan speculatively, and then spoke, her face suddenly impassive. "So you say he doesn't enjoy it, though it sounds more as though you are trying to convince yourself of this fact rather then me." Oh yes, Shaheen had noticed the stuttering, the small huff of annoyance, the pinkening of her cheeks. The chieftain raised an eyebrow, wondering if she might have inadvertently stumbled upon something a little more here.

But then Lan was changing the subject again. Or at least, trying to change the subject. Too bad Shaheen was suddenly off in her own little world, distracted by unbidden thoughts. Pondering over all of what the conquest noble had had to say, which had been quite a lot. Shaheen was quite obviously a woman of much fewer words, and often had to take time to mull things over if too much information was given at once.

Blushing, Maggie took the tokens, and quietly put them in her pocket. "No...at least not of my panther form. I'm ashamed that when I lose my temper, I change. It's like...I dunno...I just lose myself in my anger and just change out of instinct. Then I can't control the panther side, and am just...a beast." She didn't know why she was telling the horsewoman all this. Maybe it was because she hadn't had the opportunity to tell anyone else yet and talk through it. Or maybe she sensed that she could connect with her on a more primal level.
