After giving the low-down to Khanda, they set off for the culprit's hive! They were really going to do it-- bust this guy and bust him good! His hive and lawnring were what Thalia expected, but that still didn't stop it from being absolutely grody. You'd think a blueblood would have more class.

Khanda, of course, wanted to get straight to business, but wasn't given any sort of answer. Hrmm. Calling his name, Thalia turned to Khanda in an instant. Looks like she was calling the shots this time around! He nodded his head at her words: a sound course of action.

Searching around his side of the hive, his investigations were cut short. It seemed that Khanda found an entrance! What great news! She was the best little detective. Thalia would wipe a tear from his eye just because of how proud he was of her.

Meeting up to her quickly, Thalia could hear voices coming from down below! "We've gotta make our move, Khanda!!" Thalia shouted with Bravado +5. Grabbing onto Khanda's hand, he dramatically jumped down into the boss' lair.

Oh this was so exciting! This was the homestretch, the last hurtle! Soon they'd confront the culprit and she'd be returned to her normal body (hopefully)! Her collapsing and expanding bladder based aquatic vascular system felt fit to burst out of her chest as Thalia dragged her down the steps. They were doing this, man. They were making it happen!

Bursting into the room she was startled to see three small figures and who was surely the troll they had spent all this time searching for. The whole scene looked like a joke. Seriously? This was who they were after? Not only did he look utterly ridiculous, but he'd been corned by a couple of kids! Then again, this scrappy gang might have just been afflicted with the same curse she had been. Well, no matter, it looked like they certainly weren't going to be on his side, by the look of weapons drawn and angry expressions, so her earlier fear of having to deal with multiple bad guys was quelled.

"Hey, you!" she shouted as she pointed at the large blueblood. "You've got some serious explaining to do, mister!" She hardly paid any attention to the other three after calculating they weren't a threat to her. No, all she cared about was returning to normal, maybe even enacting a little revenge on his fat gut. Her hand reached for her whip secured at her side, feeling grateful Thalia was with her since she knew it would be awkward to fight given her current size.

This was not exactly what Thalia had in mind for the epic final act. No, not at all. There was a lot of screaming and shouting from more children. They looked to be Khanda's age and oh. Ooooh. They had been affected by the strange elixir no doubt. All of their ire was directed toward an overweight blueblood-- the culprit!

Large glasses, purrbeast slippers, bobble hat..? Question marks, so many question marks. This was supposed to be the 'bad guy'. The final villain. The guy looked like a basement-dwelling nerd, not a Big Bad.

All the children looked like they were about to murderkill him, and Thalia could not blame them per se. A horde of angry wigglers sealing the fate of an evil-doer sounded pretty awesome, though. One of those come-uppance moments at the very end of a film. Those types of scenes didn't really involve someone Thalia's age just standing around. He could pull out his dagger and threaten the guy, sure. But Thalia needed a much clearer read on the situation before everything goes willy-nilly.

"Heyheyhey! What do you guys think you're doing! Didn't you hear what I said, this is private property! So so don't touch anything! It's worth twice as much as you are! And do you really think I would waste my time creating something to counteract my own serum? I'm trying to advance my work, not hinder it!!"

Flailing, the blueblood fumbled behind himself for a few moments, the awkwardly spun around again, holding some kind of ... joystick? Waving it around like the most awkwardly unipressive weapon of the year, he shuffled awkwardly to intercept Aprife. Opening his mouth to reprimand the trio again, he jerked at the sound of new arrivals, his glasses flashing in the light.

"What?? Me? I am a scientist young woman, all my actions are done for the advancement of society. I have no reason to explain anything! What you all need to do is explain why you are running around in my basement! If you've run out of elixir and would like some more, I can't get access to my supplies until the army ahem .... looses interest in my whereabouts and ... and ...."

Faltering, he stiffened up, but was still unable to stop wobbling fully. Very deliberately, he brought down the joystick from over his head and pressed a switch on the side. The small sound of the click still echoed around the basement, managing to surpass even the whirring of the machines. And in the dark, two sets of red glowing lights lit up.

"...how d d did you find me, anyway?"

LaRoce, more by luck than detection, finally came across the rundown hovel in which his quarry resided while wandering randomly around Four Fronds. Not that he could have missed it; those other trolls were sure raising a ruckus! A crowd of curious neighbors had started to gather, but he bullied his way to the basement door with the help of his oversized lusus.

"So so don't touch anything! It's worth twice as much as you are!" LaRoce heard, and he laughed to himself. Maybe he didn't have much of a chance at the bad guy, but if what he said was true, LaRoce would still walk out of here with an excellent haul.

"You'd better stay up here," LaRoce whispered to his lusus, who grunted in alarm. "Hey, I don't think you could get out of that basement even if you fit in the door! Don't worry, there's lots of trolls down there. What could possibly happen? I'll just slip down there, gra-...uh, see what's going on, and come right back up!" The boar finally nodded and lay down near the door, and LaRoce quietly hurried down the steps.

"Oh, goodness," Odette muttered to herself when she noticed the ruckus at what must have been the potion-making perpetrator's hive. Perched high in a tree around the lake, she had been scouting for Vremea when she failed to notice that so many... affected trolls were starting to gather around and filter down the hatch into the basement-hive. She gave one last look-around for Vremea before making her move.

After jumping down from said tree, Odette made a mad dash for the basement hatch. Perhaps her dash could have been a little madder had her legs been longer, but that was all hypothetical. She took one too many rushed steps on the stairwell, lost her footing, and tumbled the rest of the way down like the graceful ballerina she was. If only someone had warned her about those stairs... Luckily for her, the glaive blade she had been carrying failed to impale her and instead skittered across the floor. Odette recovered quickly, knowing the graveness of her situation, and rushed to her weapon. She clutched the blade close, not in a threatening manner like the others around her, but nonetheless prepared to defend herself.

Having been searching through Four Fronds for quite some time, Pyruet and her two comrades approached the hive that, like a few others they'd seen, matched the scant few clues they'd gathered. The differences being that this hive had a few nosy neighbors investigating, and kids entering it.

Red-blooded kids.

In the middle of Four Fronds.

"Looks like we found our man." Pyruet grumbled. "And we're not exactly the first to." She marched through the small crowd, elbowing a path open for her allies, and quickly found the trapdoor; thanks in no small part to the voices echoing out of it. Without even checking to see if Alifax and Amicae were behind her, she set off down the stairs, drawing one of her derringers as she descended, listening to the shaky voice of the blueblood trying to defend himself. The bounty had said to bring him in alive, but a bullet to the shin would probably make him a lot more compliant if he tried to fight back.

"Scientist?" she barked out as she stepped off the final step and onto the basement floor. "Irrelevant. You're a wanted man, and that's much more important at the moment. You can either come willingly, or I--" She glanced around at the other trolls filling the basement, nearly a dozen of them. They really had been late to the party. "...Or we can make you."

Her threats may have been more...threatening, had her voice not been de-aged with the rest of her, if her growl was still intimidating instead of adorable. Also if she was certain that the group would work together to take down a criminal instead of resorting to in-fighting over who got the reward, which she absolutely wasn't.

Eostre found the hive, albeit not that quickly. It was in Four Fronds like she thought, and she felt bad that she hadn't managed to make her miniature partner look here with her. She was off somewhere in the mountains looking...

It wasn't hard to miss at this point, the hive was crawling with people. Eostre frowned, she was so sure she'd be one of the first people to find it, after all, the man responsible sounded like a man she could relate to - sneaky, dickish and blueblooded.

She made her way inside the hive, noticing a few trolls she'd seen before, just as tiny as she was. The potion really made some rounds, she guessed. The troll responsible came into view, giving her a bit of a shock. He didn't look like an evil mastermind, he looked like... a fat guy with a silly hat and big goofy glasses. Disappointing.

"Well, let's get this over with,"
Eostre said, putting on her old child-sized brass knuckles, ready to fight if she needed.

The little sea dweller felt quite offended when he offered to give them more elixir. She didn't want more of the stuff! Well, O.K., maybe if it didn't have the de-aging affect. The stuff was quite tasty after all. No, no, she came here to get this guy to return her to normal, not keep her this way!

Her eyes fell on the strange device he waved around, wondering what on alternia it could be for. She failed to notice the click or the glowing eyes, however, as her attention was grabbed by more trolls making their way down into the basement. Some less graceful than others. Despite the commotion that one redblood at made coming down and spying another redblood she recognized Khanda's attention was drawn to a determined looking greenblood. Oh she sounded like she meant business and she had such cute hair! Khanda liked her! She edged her way closer to her. A fight was sure to break out at any moment and she wanted to be close to good fighters, this greenblood certainly looked the part with her gun and hard expression.

Byakko retreated, taking a few steps backwards as the round blueblood blocked off Aprife's attempt to slip deeper into the basement. However, it wasn't the blueblood's flailing around that had her concerned; it was the joystick in his hand. What did it control? Grip tightening on her weapon, she spoke once more. "Surely a scientist of your magnitude would be able to produce a counter measure without much-" she faltered, attention caught by the sounds of more trolls entering the hive. Further retreating into the shadows- especially after realizing it was a pair of seadwellers, one still full sized- Akko found herself even more on edge than norm. Way too many highbloods in such a confined space... Gritting her cat-like teeth she kept her eyes narrowed into the darkness, ears pricked on the trolls around her, ever alert for any signs of danger.

What she wasn't expecting was the sudden flood of kids, which thankfully brought with them a slurry of blood colours for the mutant to blend in with. A familiar looking redblooded girl stumbled down the stairs, followed by an authoritative greenblood who began threatening the pudgy highblood. Byakko pressed her mouth firmly in a line, glancing between the new arrivals, and then her comrades... Well, what now? The bounty required that the culprit be brought to the Queen alive, undoubtedly so he could create a cure; that's all she really wanted. Although Akko supposed the ideal situation would be to hide the fatty from the royals using her thinly spread resources and have him create a counter active serum and distribute it as she saw fit, she also had absolutely no desire to put her neck on the line for him. Even if it meant, for once, the lowbloods would be attended to first. But it was too late now what with the mob forming, and trying to somehow convince Aprife and Zeffer would have been enough of a challenge as it was.

While Akko mused to herself in the shadows, her eyes darted back in the direction of the overweight blueblood. As he lifted his arms in the air brandishing the joystick, her throat began to vibrate with a growl. She all together let out a hiss as he pressed the switch, the click echoing in her auditory sensors and drowning out his question like an alarm. Wildly looking back into the dark, desperately trying to locate the source of the sound, the mutant's nutrient sack dropped as her eyes made contact with the sets of red glowing lights in the distance. "Guys..." She mumbled, barely audible to even the team mates she stood beside. She jerked her kanabō in the direction of the red glowing pricks, taking her aim off the blueblood for a split second to gesture. Not good. Not good.

The newly arriving crowd was enough to send Zeffer into a growling fit, and he bristled, whirling around to look at the other 'kids' who'd been filtering in. He bared his teeth, and didn't do anything to step aside as the greenblood shoved her way through. She certainly looked familiar, though...but that didn't matter, Zeffer couldn't have given two shits at this point. They'd worked too hard to get here for that.

"We're taking him in. We found him first." he snarled loudly, announcing it to anyone within earshot. He wasn't about to let a bunch of late-to-the-party numbskulls take the bounty off their hands, and he was getting pretty frantic. They'd have to find those ******** security tapes if they wanted to have their claim on the beetles. He threatened the greenblood with his stun batons, but his teammate's voice brought him back to the task at hand.

When he turned around again, it was just in time to see the glowing red lights that had just activated, and his fanged grimace turned into one of confusion. What the ******** were those things? "s**t..." he mumbled, and wondered what sort of trick the blueblood had up his sleeve. Not too surprising, if he could create the elixir that had done this, who knew what other kind of stuff he could make? Zeffer took up a fighting stand next to his friends, readying himself for whatever was coming.

Curse the darn train.

After Vremea and Odette met up to compare their results, they decided to meet up there as she'd forgotten her weapon at home, and headed over again to Four Fronds. She couldn't find her— she felt lost and somewhat scared, what with all the highbloods in the area. She looked down to the floor, feeling paranoid— what if someone were to attack her for no reason? What if— Calm down. Calm down. Odette is here, you won't be alone soon.

You just need to find her.

She played with her pigtails as she kept walking, gently passing her fingers through it's ribbon-y smoothness. It always calmed her down.

Now that she was calmer, Vremea scanned the area more thoroughly. Where was the meeting place again? Um... It was next to a tree in front of the house, wasn't it? She mentally facepalmed— Four Fronds was full of trees! What was wrong with her, putting such a random spot to meet up at! Out of fury, she kicked a tree and began searching for the house.

After looking around for a while, Vremea saw the suspicious, deserted house from afar and realized there was a large lusus sitting outside and that even from so far away, she could hear voices, chatting amongst themselves. She huffed, clutching at the pole in her right hand softly— hopefully she hadn't been too late. She looked up at all the trees around the perimeter— maybe Odette had entered already? Vremea frowned, and after searching once more in a rush she realized that Odette was not here.

She... Was probably inside? Maybe she went ahead because there were more trolls going in. She should check, and if she's not in there, she would leave the bounty to some other troll and see if she could find Odette.

She approached the lusus wearily and quickly sprung down the trap door. Who knew if it was the lusus of Mr. Miracle? It might attack her just because she found his hiding spot. She quickly slammed the trap door behind her, and the crowd of voices was so loud... She could see the outline of a few trolls and... A bright red light? Her eyes widened. Oh gog oh gog oh gog was that an alarm what is that oh gog please let it just be a red light please— she stumbled down the stairs quickly, tightening her fingers around her pole and sticking her other hand in her pinned up bag to touch the smooth surface of her glowing rock. Oh man, why was she so frightened? It was... Probably just an alarm or something... Oh gog...

And there was Odette. Vremea didn't blame her for leaving, after all, look at all the trolls that had entered— she couldn't let them all go first. She rushed up to Odette and tapped her shoulder, bumping into other trolls and excusing herself every time. "Sorry I was late, the train took longer than expected to reach Four Fronds," she breathed, "Are you okay?" She clutched onto her pole and looking around in the crowd of baby trolls and recognizing a few faces...

All were turned toward the blue blood in front with the glimmer of revenge in their eyes.

So this was Mr. Miracle. Not very impressive, but then again, considering all the information she had dug up on him, she couldn't help but expect this.

Why couldn't trolls be more peaceful and talk it out? She sighed. Whatever, okay, fight it was. Nevertheless, she was ready to protect Odette and herself— even if she was a child.

She just hoped they wouldn't get too roughed up.

Alifax was silent even as they happened upon the hive - Pyruet's comment was more than enough, he found, and she was intimidating besides, even as a child. And he was not so annoyed that he was not first - although the loss of the beetle reward was admittedly pretty disappointing for him. He did want to get back to normal. Somehow.

He followed her through the crowd and up to the trapdoor, hesitantly hefting his meteors as he did so. They'd gotten a lot easier to handle now that he was...becoming used to his situation, he supposed. With any luck he wouldn't have to be so accustomed to it for long, but...as it was, he stepped down the stairs behind his greenblooded comrade, glancing back and giving Amicae a shaky smile.

Of course Pyruet was already trying to take over the room full of kids (and a single teenager?) even before she'd fully situated herself in the room. But that was natural; she was highblo - oh, wait, no. There were seadwellers. He stared at them in dismay before focusing on the...blueblood at hand. He was pretty intimidating, as well - just as large as the clues that Pyruet found had intimated, and, well. Blue. Blue was an intimidating color.

Alifax only stepped to the side a little as he arrived at the basement floor - Pyruet was talking enough, and he was more concerned with assessing their situation (and also making sure Amicae and...anyone else about to arrive could get through without shoving him out of the way). The red glow caught his attention right away - it was a little reminiscent of tiny flames. His most faithful companion.

Until now, of course. Finally, he spoke up. "Um...Miss...Miss Pyruet?" He took one of the meteors and gestured at the lights.

Maybe it was because he had been so intent on running away and getting what they wanted, but when the blueblood somehow wobbled fast enough to block his path, Aprife nearly fell on his bum as he stumbled backwards towards his teammates. He certainly didn't expect that'd he'd be caught, not by this troll who looked like he hardly moved faster than a slow stroll most of the time. The yellowblood felt a short heat of disappointment in his chest as he bared his pointed teeth at the adult inventor.

"s**t," he mumbled, eyes still locked on the man they'd been chasing all this time. Bumblesuckle seemed even more agitated now, hunkered down between his charge's horns, buzzing uncomfortably. "Sorry guys, I couldn't get away."

Before he could really mull over it further, Akko swayed his attention, finally, away from the blueblood and off into the darkness. What… was that? If this guy really was an inventor good enough to shrink half the population with that elixir, maybe he was good enough for other things, too. The way this basement was set up with the constant hiss of machines was probably a testament to that. It was a good thing he had remembered to bring his scourge, even if his smaller size made it a little unwieldy. Those red lights in the distance felt threatening.

"Wanted?! W w why you, you all owe your glorious transformations to me! How could you even think of wanting to harm me?? With your adorably precious fists, even! You should be thanking me for this, instead of growing old and ugly, you c c can stay young and cute forever! Well I won't come willingly, I I I'll show you exactly what you get for taking on a level 99 Games Master like myself! C c come to me, my precious waifus!"

The red dots that had been slowly circling the dark corners of the room suddenly froze as he pressed another button, and leaping out of the shadows, two robots landed on either side of the indignant and furious self proclaimed Games Master. Wiggling his free hand dramatically, he grasped the joystick and hunched over, a look of furious concentration settling on his face.

400/400
how 2 boss battle

The two robot trolls crouched into dramatic poses, and opened their mouths. The noise that came out was certainly not organic, and set to the right vibrations to cause bright lights to flash in front of your eyes and your stomach to feel uncomfortable. A loud wailing howl, almost feline sounding, echoed throughout the basement, shaking dust from the ceiling.

If you rolled a 1, you feel the room spinning around you, your stomach does backflips, and it feels like the floor is trying to replace the ceiling. You're so thrown off balance by the sonic attack that you are unable to concentrate enough to attack the two robots in front of you. Do no damage with your main attack and take 4 dmg.

If you rolled a 2, your head is feeling like it just got dunked underwater. There's an unpleasant ringing in your ears, the world is swimming gently around you, and it's kind of a challenge to focus. You can still move around though, albeit shakily. Take a -1 penalty to accuracy for your half-hour attacks until the next round and take 3 dmg.

If you rolled a 3, your vision goes blurry for a few seconds and you feel a pang of a headache coming on. Your body tremors from top to bottom, and you feel momentarily exhausted. Pulling yourself together, you don't seem to have any lasting after effects, but you're still pretty rattled. Take 2 dmg.

If you rolled a 4, your stomach does a flip once or twice and you break out in cold sweats as the sound washes over you. There doesn't seem to be any lasting harm, but you definitely aren't feeling as peppy as you were a second ago. Take 1 dmg.

If you rolled a 5, you can feel your teeth vibrating together and you wince as you hear something shatter in the distance, but the sonic attack doesn't really seem to affect you in any noticeable way. Huh!

If you rolled a 6, the strange harmonics don't really bother you. In fact, you can feel yourself relaxing and becoming more energetic, and you can practically see your vision becoming sharper. You honestly can't say why everyone else seems to be staggering about and looking ill. Take a +1 bonus to all accuracy and damage for your current attack and your half-hour attacks until the next round.

The next round will go up in 24h.

**PLSNOTE: de-aging is a purely cosmetic transformation. your troll still has the same hp, weapon attack, and skills that they would have as a teenager**
