Although she didn't say anything, she did return the squeeze to the hunter's hand, as if to say 'you're welcome'. The smoke was still thick, and they were still surrounded by flames, but she was sure that this was where the exit was... Hopefully, Mot did not mean that they were trapped in the building.
If so, she was going to attempt to kick that door down. Wearing a skirt and all. No matter how unladylike.
Spotting a tall figure ahead, she almost sighed in relief when she realized that it was Mot. Letting the hunter ghoul's hand go, she walked past the reaper - because a hug right now would physically hurt a lot more than it would bring comfort - and straight towards the emergency exit behind him. There was no reason why the cowboil would just be standing there, unless the door was- She tried to turn the knob, holding onto it with both hands, expanding all her energy into opening that door.
It wouldn't budge.
She was biting down on her lower lip so hard now that she wouldn't be surprised if she was bleeding. Still, that pain was nowhere near the pain from the swelling blisters on along her arms and legs. Probably her face too, but she didn't want to think about that.
Instead, she rammed against the door as hard as she could, desperate to find them a way out.
"Mot... Gun..." She gestured to the door, finding difficulty speaking; the pain was affecting her ability to concentrate, and the smoke that she had inhaled was irritating her throat... No doubt she wasn't the only one feeling this way right now.

Deryk backed away and tried to go elsewhere. It didn't sound like the others were having much more success right now. Coughing as the smoke began to kind of suffocate him, he began to desperately search for a way out. There had to be some place around here that wasn't blocked off.
Wheezing, he placed a hand by his throat, while staggering on. This was bad. So very bad.

Covering his mouth, Deryk ran through the flames. There were a few of the others up ahead. It looked like they were over by a door too! Unfortunately, it seemed like there wasn't much luck with getting said door open.
"I-is it stuck?" he managed to get out before coughing and trying to breathe.

"Don't look for me, go to the exit!" He coughed, smoke stinging his eyes even as he crouched down. "None of you better die, do you hear me?" Just run, that was all he could do. If he saw them, he could grab them but with the smoke clouding his way, Marcus simply moved.

One day he'd get a nice, simple mission. One day. A crash from above, hot embers scattered on his back. ******** everything today.

Another pelting of burning embers, Marcus hissed, shaking his coat to try and keep them off his back. They burned, and he was just happy he wasn't smelling burning hair or flesh, that would have worried him.
Finally a wall and others- "You've got to be shitting me." The was locked. "Nothing ever goes right."

Lizzy was safe! Oh thank Jack! Junko threw her arms around the ghoul in a tight hug at first, clinging to her and refusing to let go. Her Lizzy was safe. Her hug only tightened when two more Hunters made an appearance. Oh Jack..where was Thackery?! Was he okay?! She gave Lizzy an 'are you serious?!' stare when she called one of them an ally. How could she say that so easily!? It could be a trick! Though the Hunter in question made a point of telling them he had no intention of fighting. But..but it was all they did...
She wasn't about to let her guard down but Junko supposed she could give him the benefit of the doubt. For now.
Junko's eyes darted from one Hunter to the other, watching them intently and listening to their every word. Was this an act? Was it real? They didn't seem to like Caelius. Caelius...who was he aga--oh..their leader, right? The one who pretended to be a teacher and then used their own information against them? She frowned more. Routine mission? They often did things like this? What did it mean..?
"..What's that smell?" Junko suddenly sniffed and let go of Lizzy, looking around.
Fire.
And then the ally of Lizzy's was telling them what to do. Normally Junko would have ignored him out of spite but..she didn't want to die. Even Lizzy was panicked. The flames...were blue? Why were they blue?! When a fire starts it should be red and orange and yellow! This wasn't a controlled flame heated to..wh-why was it blue?! The only time she could remember seeing a blue flame was...well..Red.
The exit. The exit. Where was the exit?! She coughed and stumbled, making her hair braid itself as tightly as she could manage without the use of her hands and hold itself up and away from as many flames as possible. She managed pretty well though the ends of some of her hair did get a little singed in the process when it went a little too far during the braiding.
Junko ra--er...fumbled her way toward what she hoped was the exit.

Bang bang bang.
A muffled voice from the other side of the barred door. "Is- in - there?" The shuffle of what sounded like metal scraping and straining. "No use - barred shut - move- blocking exit - now!"
Through the fire catching up it was hard to tell who it was other than a loud and slightly familiar to some male voice. More scraping, the sound of someone straining something sharp against the door, creating visible dents. OOC Removing the door barricade!! - The debris needs to be removed! The barricade has 30 HP, simply attack it as normal. However you take damage EQUAL to the damage you do from the fallong debris and overwhelming smoke and heat. You may attack as many times as you want, a player cannot go below 1 HP ( if you hit 1 hp you cannot attack any further).

They were trapped, she was burned, and everyone was suffering. They needed to get out, to get safe, and the only way to do it would be to punch through and break down the door. With a cough and a grunt Rue was quickly summoned and the teen pushed her way forward. "Back it up, back it up. . . ."
She took a deep breath (as best she could in her scarf mask) and pulled her fist back. Rue wasn't cackling, or excited for this, but that didn't stop Ofelia from still bringing her arm forward and smashing it as hard as she could into the barricade. It was a strong hit, one that made her wish she hit harder during battles with things, but her rejoicing at striking the barrier was short lived.
Debris quickly hit her, the flames biting at her body and shield. Rue hissed in her mind as Ofelia shrieked again, the teen backing away and furiously smacking at flames that weren't really burning her like they were the others. Her shield was more than half down, she didn't know if she could take another round, but the door was still standing and she could still move if she needed to.
Coughing, wheezing, Ofelia prepped herself for another strike. She was going to get out of this building and repay the girl who had held her hand.

"Jus'....one more hit. We can muster one more hit, yeah?" Who was she talking to? If Ofelia was talking to Rue it was a moot point, the weapon was crazy angry with her and not wanting to respond, but the teen pulled her arm back and braced herself for what was to come next.
This strike wasn't as strong as her first one was, Ofelia was coughing entirely too hard to do much else, and as the smoke and debris scattered onto her she just took it all and dismissed Rue, staggering backward and away while covering her mouth. It was getting harder to breathe, her shield wasn't holding up like it should, and her vision was getting blurry. She'd managed to get the barricade halfway down, it was up to someone else to go from there.
If...if they couldn't though, and they needed her, she would gladly step up and strike again. It was her duty as a Sun to lay down the damage, right? Did she have it in her for another strike, or two?

Gun? Oh!
Mot nodded to Lizzy with some strain, summoning his long barreled shot gun just as he heard noise from the other side. Someone was there to rescue them? Well, he might as well help them along.
The reaper stood back and aimed at a spot where it seemed fewer people were in his way, firing a succession of shots. Debris fell around him, embers and flames danced across his skin and clothes. He did his best to ignore it, even though it felt like his throat was now on fire from breathing in such heated air.

Coughing, Deryk looked around, seeing a few of the others in the area. Good. But now they needed to break this thing down. Hidden blades weren't really good for breaking down doors and barricades and so instead, he geared himself up and rammed into it shoulder first.
It seemed to work.

Ofelia wheezed and coughed against the smog and smoke, her hands over her nose and mouth now in addition to the little mask she wore. "Deryk, what....ar....gon...do.?" It was hard to talk so she didn't really try that hard, instead mostly coughing out a few words here and there in an attempt to get her point across.
Hopefully Deryk would understand, seeing as everyone had taken turns plowing into the door much like she had. It was an amazing thing.
Her eyes swept the area, sort of taking a roll call of everyone who was there. The Halloween kids looked bad - they didn't have shields to help them and looked crispy as a result. She wondered if the bandages she carried would be able to be used, but then she doubted they'd even let her try and help.

"Back up!" A muffled voice, another series of loud thuds as the door visibly began to cave in-
Crunch. Wham.
- There was no time to think - there was an exit, the smoke pouring, pulling outwards, drawn by the opening. There was no time to hesitate as the roof of the warehouse threatened to collapse: everything was instinct on survival pure and simple.
"Out," The voice paused, coughing through the smoke, barely visible save their outline, "Is everyone out?"
For a single terrible moment, something groaned, bits of the ceiling indeed caving in, charred and molten-hot. They crashed right above the trainees, toppling into half-constructed tarp above. A loud roar as the thin black mass caught on fire, dripping hot plastic over the last of the escapers. The entire structure groaned dangerously one last time-
- Broken wooden beams falling right where Deryk stood.
