As the dracolich tore into the hunters once again, the crystal hidden on him absorbed just a little more FEAR, and grew just a little darker. The effect was not entirely unwelcome in the throes of battle, which was probably why Aymet hardly realized exactly when it began. Even in the cramped hallway he felt confined; it made him angry, that these humans kept fighting, kept hiding behind Halloween denizens stolen and forced to serve the enemy. It would save them so much time to simply lay down and die.

Now the alchemist was enraged: she was a bit worried about Mei, but she trusted the ghoul enough to have a faith in her battling capabilities. Spotting an open distance, sort of a corridor between herself and one of the hunters she decided to use the chance immediately, and sent her chain at the human with all the power she had.
As the blade hit the target and a scream of pain lowered all other voices for a brief second, the alchemist smiled in delight.

She already had her blade out. It was only a matter of being able to keep her footsteps quiet. With the noises, it wasn’t too difficult to hide the sound of sandals rustling sand. Green eyes glistened eagerly, but as Jay leapt in at a hunter, she felt a tiny blow to her side. It wasn’t a heavy hit, but there was enough pain in her side to realize she wouldn’t be meeting her target. Hissing, she stopped and kept a hand to her side, muttering curses beneath her breath all the while.

They were on their last legs. Blood, death screams, wind - Mort couldn't differentiate between them, other than the delicious smell of eminent victory.

Never before had Mort revealed in such a bloodbath. Anger welled within him like a fountain without a source and without an end, and though it turned his vision briefly into a red-coated nightmare the normally placid zomboil couldn't help but smirk as he gathered up a ball of energy within his hands and, with a battle cry, let it loose, downing most of the survivors. It left him with vicious pride to be a part of something that could defeat these Hunters without something as needless as a conscience.

Revenge.
The whisper of a word dissolved into Aymet's FEAR, guided his claws. Blood coated them like meathooks. Even in his weakened state he saw himself more powerful than ever, more focused. He hardly needed to justify himself now. All he needed was the power these sickening Hunters provided, that he extracted every time his claws sank into their flesh. FEAR welled up as readily as blood. He would turn it against them, they would suffer, they would pay --

By the time Shaheen was able to stumble her way forward again, her dagger still held tight in her hand, it was too late. The hunters had all been brought to death by the others, and she clenched her teeth against the howl of rage that threatened to escape. This was some kind of injustice. A slight against her personally, she was sure of it! But surely there would be more. There were still sounds of battle in the distance, but it took her longer then it should have to realize that. Trying to think past the all consuming emotions that boiled within her was all but impossible.
She turned and took a few halting steps in another direction, eyes closing, chest heaving, breath hissing between clenched teeth. Eyes opened again, landed on a familiar figure, but not one that she was precisely happy to see. "Shik." She snarled his name, eyes glimmering dangerously. She made her way unsteadily towards him, but then stopped as his colors also began to twist in a sickening manner, the oranges and greens somehow horrifying to her. She looked away, glaring at the ground. Somehow she was sure that this was all his fault.

Mei watched as one by one the Hunters began to fall. She clung to the rocky surface of a nearby wall, leaning heavily against it as the battle seemed to fade away. She wanted more. Revenge. Her hand clasped to her throat as she stared with a burning hatred at the fallen Hunters. It was so over powering this feeling that she felt a little light headed. There was someone she was suppose to stick close to and someone had called her name not long ago but the feeling left her mind filled with nothing but anger she could barely recall faces. Defeated. Down. Finished.
Though undead, Mort found himself breathing heavily as he leaned against one of the walls, blood coating him like a new layer of skin. He probably even smelled a little roasted beneath that thanks to the residual burns left behind on his fingers from his electrical attacks, but that had been worth it. This was the first time Mort felt happy in the middle of a fight. Well, relatively speaking: it was more a burning need to vent his pent up anger and hatred, but without more targets to throw himself at, the agitated wellspring of emotion had to be stoppered for now.
Wiping at his face, Mort turned towards the small riptides of power he was feeling, unsurprised to see his fellow students were among the strong, as dictated by the FEAR the had each consumed for their crystal. There was a horseman radiating more than that even, but he did not care. Some part of Mort still remembered he had to watch for Mei, so with a grunt the zomboil shuffled over, haggard but no less content for it.
"Was exciting, wasn't it," he said almost dreamily, at odds with the way his sharpened teeth fixed into a smirk. His blood called for more in frustration, but for now he swallowed it down (barely) and raised a hand to high-five Mei.
Aymet too, though he was going to have to move over some to reach him. Mort was a bit loathe to move until the next target showed up to gang upon, more than a little annoyed by how often he got thrown around.

Shik couldn't help but snort as Lan missed a prime target, but at the same time he wasn't surprised it happened. Because he was still put off by her behavior from their battle. Yes, still.
While used to his name being almost akin to a curse when it came from the chieftain, Shikoba's eyes narrowed nevertheless at her greeting. "Shaheen," he said evenly, flicking blood off his weapon with a quick motion of his wrist. Even after battle she wobbled, doubtlessly due to the damage she both dealt and was dealt. Something in her mannerisms, though, set off an alarm in his head - a quiet one in comparison to the continual throb of cravings the fragment produced.
"Take your calming breaths now before we plunge further into this battle."

Mort's voice was distant at first. She hadn't realized till his hand was up for a high-five that he had drawn close. Blinking, a small smile crept to her lips before she reached up to tug the sleeve of his shirt by the elbow to bring his hand down just a bit. To which she lightly high-fived him. "Yes, very much so. Though I fully believe that this will merely be the calm before another storm. There will be more excitement to be had for sure." If history proved true at least. Which it often did. When one smaller enemy went down another even bigger one tended to pop up in it's place. It was just fact really. The ghoul continued to cling to the wall, leaning her face against the cool rock and dirt as she waited. Exhausted. HP: 10/40 Damage: --- Distortion: 5
