I love you random people being random, buuuuut to get back on topic..
Basically like the others are saying the guild won't ever be back to it's former glory, because Zomg is basically dead-ish. Although we were always more like a chatterbox then anything, Zomg was what brought us together.
Also, I find myself lurking more often than not, because I feel like an outcast these days. I quit the Zcb once (believe it or not I've been with this guild pretty much since the beginning till then, though my member info makes me look like a newb ;_; ) because of drama and whatnot so that didn't help. However in addition to that, these days I feel like I can't really contribute to most of the topics so I just lurk and feel more excluded. I'm not sure if that's how the other lurkers are, but it may explain why we have a good amount of lurkers. There has been a quite a few who posted in this (and other similar topics) because they can actually relate with this topic or at least that's what I believe. Thus, the reason the guild is not quite lively could also be attributed to the fact that without Zomg we don't have anything to bring us together.
Yet, we still have hope, because people are still lurking and there are still active members somehow holding this guild together.

Also I think you made some good key points about why people have started lurking more. I mean sure we all seem to like cats and various other cute things but we lost the main conversational glue of zomg that worked to smoosh us all together.
As a result the topics made are about different things and don't always interest many people. Making those broad arching topics is tough and doesn't always work out so people make those topics that interest them and perhaps only a small portion of the guild.
I guess what it comes down to is that if people want to talk about a certain topic they need to create a thread about it... but I guess that can seem scary and so they simply lurk.

Yeah, well I think the tough thing for us lurkers is we feel so out of the loop and also we have no idea as to what to make a topic on. Or at least that's how it is for me. Before, someone could just make a thread on something Zomg and they would get a response going. Or you could even make it on something random, but there were enough members that someone would be interested. However, now there are less people so the chance of having someone interested is less. Also, I've never been that of a topic maker. I like to join convos not start them.. even in rl I have a problem with that. ^^;

Well that's the thing there are like no limits which can make it a bit hard. I know personally if I actually think about what topic to make it gets too complicated and so I just blurt out whatever random jazz I'm thinking/watching/looking at which works 99% of the time. sweatdrop
