Minori Koroko He was laughing. His melodic laughter was what finally snapped the blonde from her panicky thoughts, turning to look at him, almost as if in trance. He had taken her off guard, she had to admit. He looked so...free laughing like that, though, that she couldn't stop staring. She wasn't indignant (well, maybe a little, at the back of her mind); she just...looked at his face, and couldn't helped the smile growing on her lips. "Whaaat?" she finally asked between chuckles, and when he did answer, the blond blushed again, her cheeks puffing, just as he had predicted. "H-huh? Well, I think you are cute! Laughing like that! I...I really like your laughter." Perhaps she was being cheesy, just blurting out everything in her mind, but...how could you blame her? She was utterly and completely lost. He had taken her attention, her affection. She really, really liked him. She loved him.
She laughed sheepishly, before nodding to his comment about the picnic. She beamed, excited about the idea of having a picnic with Genji...in a beautiful place like this. "I have no plans! I would really like spending the afternoon with you, Genji-kun. To make up for yesterday, yeah?" She had left him alone during the festival, and well... he had been so nice to her afterwards...cheering her up, doing all this for her. "I'll come along! Perhaps you can show me around? I-if that is okay, of course! I wouldn't want to bother your family." At his last comment, she chuckled, turning a playful look his way. "I would neeeever plot with your mother to embarrass you!" she answered innocently, though if that was true or not...well...who really knew.
The girl took his hand then and smiled. "Let's, Genji-kun."

Amagai Genji, the Investigation Team's Gentle Fist and Amagai Danzo, Patriarch of the Amagai Clan "...You see the surface, but my eyes see more..." "We were the past...we must become the future."Her hand was smaller than he imagined, and he always took note of the way that it fit gently within his own, fingers lacing together, his gray eyes meeting hers as her lips curled into that brilliant smile that warned his heart. It felt so nice to be connected to Minori like this...he nodded in return as she agreed to follow him back to the estate to gather supplies for their now-imminent picnic. And as his lips curled into a warm smile, he nodded back towards the house and took one step in-stride with her...and remembered in that moment that he wasn't wearing a shirt and he was walking hand-in-hand with a girl towards his house. Innocent as he was, that one...well, he wasn't blind to how that would look to his parents. Pale cheeks turned pink in an instant, and he pulled his hand away for just a moment.
"Oh! Could...you excuse me for just a moment, Minori-senpai!" his blush was a fierce red as he hurriedly crossed the clearing and scooped up his white shirt, sliding it over his arms and buttoning it quickly as he walked back over to where she was waiting for him to return, "Crisis averted! I cannot begin to imagine what my mother would have said if we had come back with me in such a state. Or worse, my father." That would have really been a disaster, he knew, and the sweatdrop rolling down the back of his neck was evidence of just how chilling his father's glare might have been if he had seen him like that. His mother had been very supportive of his relationship from the moment he had told her about it, but his father was different. He understood why his father was a little skeptical, if only because he had the family name to worry about. They could secure their future as an important clan in Southern Japan if they arranged the right strategic marriage for Genji, and it would look better if he were to marry into a prominent family. To say that his father was a little taken aback when Genji asked to be let out of all the potential arranged marriage meetings because he was seeing a girl from the town was an understatement. And whether he would be willing to completely support him was...still pending. If they could avoid encountering him at the estate for now it would be for the best, he reasoned.
It was with that thought that he retook his lovely girlfriend's hand within his own, cheeks still pink, and lead her down the path through the trees and the grove towards his home. It was a nice feeling, taking a peaceful walk along his family grounds with her...sharing this place with her, this feeling...it was strange to think of just how comfortable this was. How he wanted to keep spending days like this, moments like this...how he didn't want to let them ever stop...
...He found himself idly distracted as their home came into view, the back door sliding open as they stepped inside of the main room of their home...
...And his father's wary eye fell upon them both, level, expression serious but not grave. Instantly, the berry-haired teen froze, if only for a moment. And then he bowed his head slightly in greeting. His father raised a hand slightly in return.
"Father."
"Genji."
...The quiet lingered a moment, before the teen spoke up again, remembering his manners in the presence of his father's intimidating glare.
"Father, I would like to introduce you to Minori Koroko," he began, still holding her hand gently within his own even when his father's eyes fell upon them, and then scanned the girl slowly...as if appraising her value and whether or not this girl of his son's stories lived up to the affection with which he spoke of her, "Minori-senpai, this is my father...Amagai Danzo. And..." His father's hand went up silently, and his son knew that he didn't need to say anything more. Stepping forward, the man glanced at the girl and turned to her, lowering his head slightly for just a moment.
"It is my pleasure, Minori. Genji speaks very highly of you," his voice was level, revealing nothing of how he felt about his son's high praise. Instead, he turned to his son and spoke again, the tension in the room still lingering in spite of his 'formal' discussion, "Genji, I hope you are making your guest comfortable? Have you offered her breakfast? Your mother already informed me that Minori spent the night in the guest room." His narrowed glare could have melted ice in that moment.
"Yes, Father. We were just coming inside to do so."
"Very well. ...Now then, if you will excuse me, I have work to do." With a nod to Genji and Minori both, he turned on his heel and started down the hall towards the wing of the estate that was essentially his, for work and his bedroom. Genji let out a breath that he didn't even know he had been holding was he watched his father's slow retreat...but sucked it back in just as fast as his father suddenly looked over his shoulder at his son and spoke one last time, "And one more thing...your grandmother wants to meet her. She's waiting for you in her room...do not keep her waiting, Genji."

Minori Koroko There was a puzzled expression in her eyes as her boyfriend excused himself for a moment, letting go of her hand and walking back to the clearing. He was red as a beet, and for a moment, Minori couldn't understand what was going on. Then...he picked up his shirt and put it back on, and the blond finally understood. "O-oh! Of...of course!" she chuckled sheepishly, her hand already moving to take his again, almost like a magnet attracted to their opposite pole. "That would've been awkward, huh?" Just the thought of meeting Genji's mother again was enough to make her slightly nervous...Mrs. Amagai was a very nice woman, and she actually liked her, but...she was still Genji's mom! And she couldn't help feeling nervous around her. She wanted the older woman to like her, after all...
But, if the idea of meeting his mom again put the blond haired girl nervous...the idea of meeting his dad just made her stomach to tie up in knots, and her blood to run cold. She had heard stories about Mr. Amagai from Genji...he sounded strict; the kind of man who looked over his family with an iron fist, always making sure the name of his family was impeccable, and that every member of the family was well taken care of. He sounded like a man that had no time for games...and that terrified her.
Still, the girl tried pushing those thoughts aside for the time being, and focused on her hand in Genji's, and the way he smiled at her, his cheeks slightly pink. It went well with his hair, she thought idly, her gaze returning to the path in front of them. Fate wasn't on her side though, almost as if putting her to the test on purpose; for the moment they stepped inside the house, they bumped into no other than Mr. Amagai himself.
She felt Genji freezing beside her, and the girl felt her stomach sinking to her feet. The smile froze on her lips, and her brain immediately sent her a signal to keep her hand to herself, the way the older man's gaze fell on their linked hands an indication that he disapproved. Yet, it was as if her brain had disconnected from her body; she screamed internally, but she couldn't seem to move an inch. She just looked at him, almost like a deer caught in headlights. Her berry-haired boyfriend reacted then, and Minori finally seemed to snap from her panicky trance, managing a bow in greeting when Genji introduced her. "It's my pleasure to meet you, sir..." she heard herself say. Was her voice shaking? She wasn't sure if her voice was shaking. She didn't think her voice was shaking. Oh God.
"I...um...Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Amagai. I hope I haven't caused you too much trouble." She felt a shiver run down her spine as he looked at her with that leveled glance. Did he hate her? He totally hate her for having stayed the night. Was she bringing dishonor to his family? It...it wasn't like she had...spent the night with Genji; but by the way he looked at her...she might as well had. The blond bit her lip, standing upright, afraid to even breath...only nodding mechanically as Genji's father excused himself. Green eyes turned to look gray ones, and she let out a shaky breath. "That was...-" she stopped herself abruptly, Amagai Danzo turning back to address his son once again. And just like that, he was gone. But that didn't ease the girl...Those last words were still ringing on her head.
"Your grandmother?! G-Genji!"

Amagai Genji, the Investigation Team's Gentle Fist "...You see the surface, but my eyes see more..."Four months ago he would never have imagined he would go out on a limb like this with his father; four months ago, he was still settling into this strange new world that had overtaken him with shadows and personae and the Tower of Babel and all of the insanity that dwelt just beneath the surface of the ordinary. And four months ago, well...even then, perhaps, he had an inkling of a special something that had begun to develop between himself and the blonde-haired former Miss Yasogami High who spent her nights now at the Dojima Home...but it would have been dishonest to say that he expected he would be doing something like this, even for her, back then. Yet here he was, fresh out of a meeting with his father to finalize the 'guidelines' for the trip they were about to embark upon in the morning, to complete the payment to rent the Lodge for a full night for himself, his team, and his friends to enjoy the mountain for two days and one night together. And he knew that doing all of this was putting him at his father's mercy for the foreseeable future when it came to family functions, his father's other requests, and the like...but the nerves that had been slowly building back up in his friends at the thought of the enforced peace of Lord Igni coming to an end were something that could swallow them whole if they weren't careful. The best thing to do was ease back into the supernatural and the strange, to embrace but not dive wholeheartedly back into the weirdness all at once, and that was why he and his silver-haired senpai had come up with this trip together. That was why he had felt the need to go out on this limb regardless of the price. And sitting together by the hearth in their traditional estate with his beautiful girlfriend leaning close against him, looking at pictures of the Lodge and planning who would be sharing which rooms together...a few small snacks to split between them as they did just that...he felt that he had made the right choice in taking this risk.
"You do not have to worry; the indoor spring has a divider and will be open at all hours. The men and women will be separate in the baths and the room assignments, which will appease my father. The East Wing nearer to the mountain will be for the men, and the West Wing nearer to the spring will be for the women, and..." the berry-haired heir flicked through the pictures smoothly on the small computer on his lap, showing each Wing, the Spring, and the Mountain itself to his companion as he explained so that the both of them would have a clearer picture of the resort before they arrived. Directing traffic and making sure nothing too unexpected or untoward happened would be nearly impossible with just himself and Soji-senpai, regardless of what his eyes could do, and having Minori in the loop on the girl's side would help to keep people informed in the places where he himself couldn't quite go. And yet...there was something he was noticing while he explained a few things that was fairly distracting. It was something that had distracted him quite a few times over the course of the last eighty-five days...days that had passed almost like a dream. Or maybe it was all the chaos and bloodshed that had come in the months before that were the dream, and waking up one day with Lord Igni's blessing to live their lives as students once more was merely the joy of awakening from a deep nightmare. That was something he would have liked to believe, but he was neither naive nor stupid. And their time was up. He felt refreshed, however, and the main reason that he felt in such high spirits, felt such absolute contentment...was the same as the distraction that he faced right now. And her name was...
"Minori-senpai...?" he nudged her gently as she leaned against his side, a small smile creasing the corner of his lips as he teased her with the honorifics she had shyly hinted he didn't need to add anymore on a few occasions before...but that he still did sometimes out of habit, "Are you listening? The mountain will be open for skiing from eight in the morning until dusk in the evening. We will be leaving around dusk on the second day and arriving around dawn on the first..." He trailed off a bit, glancing back at the laptop and back at his girlfriend in-turn. Seeing her like this, bundled up beside him filled him with a warmth that was difficult to describe but easy to revel in. And it only made him excited for the moments like this they might get to spend at the lodge by the fire tomorrow night, together. Skiing, fireside stories, and the fresh air of the mountain his family had been visiting every other year since he was a boy? Shadows were the furthest thing from his mind right now, even if they were not forgotten. And the closest thing, well...
She was sitting right beside him, a vision as always to his ashen gray eyes.

Minori Koroko
It would be an exciting trip! Minori was sure of it. The Skii Lodge was the fanciest place she had ever seen (and those were only photos, the blond couldn't even imagine what it would look like for real), and the company would be even better. She would be with her friends, and especially Genji...trying new activities, enjoying the snow, the view, the fresh air...oh it would be great! Though she had to admit she was just the tiniest bit nervous. Minori wasn't one to leave Inaba much, and trips always tended to make her jittery. What if she were to forget something? What if she left her bag back at home, and she had nothing to wear? Or what if she were to leave something important behind? Or what if she were to miss the bus? Or...or...
No. No. She needed to relax. Everything would be well. That was why she was here right now with Genji. They were going over all the necessary things...the logistics of the trip, and the few questions she had had about this and that. As her berry haired boyfriend flicked through the pictures on the laptop and explained the indoor springs distribution after she had asked (after all, they didn't need an incident in that regard, like it had happened at the Amagi Inn), the blond girl rested her head on his shoulder, taking one of the chocolate chip cookies she had brought for the meeting and taking a small bite. Her eyes were on the pictures, and she was listening to him, but still...for an instant...the girl found her mind drifting. She was comfortable here...leaning against him, the fireplace warming the whole room cozily, and just chatting and doing things together...
Minori couldn't help daydreaming about the trip the next day. They could cuddle near the fireplace there after skiing all day -after all, he would have to teach her how to skii, because she had absolutely no idea how to do so-; they could explore the place, holding hands, chatting, joking...kissing. They could play a game with the others...and maybe, if she was faster than him, she could hit him with a snow ball. There was so much to do...but also, so little she wanted to do. She just wanted to relax with her boyfriend and her friends...just enjoy the few days they had left before having to return to reality.
"Hm?" His voice and the little nudge brought her back to the here and now, almost missing the way he used the honorific before her name. She made a face, but chuckled, "Sorry, I got distracted for a bit." She shifted on her place, straightening up, to look a bit more alert. Though, after a moment, her head returned to its nuzzling place on his shoulder. "I was just thinking of all the things we can do. The place looks amazing." Her gaze returned to the pictures on the screen. Her hand stretched to click on the 'Next' button, leaning on him just a little, the picture of the Wing the girls would be occupying. "It's just huge. I can't believe your father let us do this. It...wasn't that troublesome, was it?" It...it probably was.

Amagai Genji, the Investigation Team's Gentle Fist "...You see the surface, but my eyes see more..."It was cute how she worried about him, but his gentle smile hopefully would ease her tension about whether or not working this trip out with his father was going to cost him a bit of equity in the long run. She didn't need to worry about the prices that he might have to pay in order to pull this off for everyone, since it was more important to him that everybody had a chance to get away and relax before they were thrust back into the thick of things once more. Even if he knew that he would be paying the tab, so to speak, for a while to come with his father...it was worth every penny if the team was able to get to the mountain and have a good time together. And that, he thought, didn't even begin to factor in the surplus value in joy and memories that spending such time on the mountainside with Minori at his side would bring him. Fireside chats, skiing together, he found himself slowly filling with an almost uncharacteristically childlike anticipation, making it impossible not to smile and feel his blood pumping through his veins with little electric tingles now and then surging along with it. He felt supercharged. Ready to carry the whole team up to the lodge on his back if necessary. Not that he was bouncing excited like he had no doubt Yosuke was, as his own anticipation was at least a bit more understated, but that didn't mean he wasn't ready to go right now! Well, not right now, necessarily.
This right here was nice enough.
"It was less trouble than you might imagine," he quipped easily in response to Minori as she leaned close against him, an arm naturally slipping around her back to keep her there, warm against his side, "My mother was my co-conspirator of sorts, and my father bought in with surprising ease. Though I suspect I will be at his mercy for a while for family business, paying off the cache of good will that this cost me...as long as we can enjoy this trip together, I would say that it was a fair deal." He couldn't help himself at that moment and leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her golden crowned temple. Little moments, gestures like that still brought a color to his cheeks even as they became more normal between them, but that didn't stop him from doing them. He felt warm, full...happy together with Minori. It made him bold and confident and want to do things like that regardless of whether or not it made him blush. She had that power over him. And he was happy to give it to her. It was no small part of the reason why this trip was happening in the first place, wanting to put a smile on her face...to make her happy, to see her living her life like it was normal again, the way it had been the last 85 days and almost hadn't been at all for the year prior. She deserved the break, she deserved moments with friends and family and fun, and so did the rest of the team.
This...was the least that he could do for all of them. A far-too-small prize for the pain and trouble of their fight. But it was something he could do. He moved his free hand quickly to the screen of the computer as the picture changed again, and with a skilled digit pointed at a spot in the lodge that he had mentally all-but-claimed for the two of them. That was probably what he was looking forward to...at least within the lodge...the most. He caught her eye with a conspiratorial (an unusual expression on his honest face) smirk that softened into a warm smile as he drew her green eyes in and then turned them towards the screen.
"Do you see that couch, Minori? Closest to the fire...I think that you and I should lay claim to it when we come in from the mountain together. What do you think...?"
