I chuckled lightly when she started messing with my hair. Ugh, I am such a sucker when people mess with my hair. "Thanks? I try just for you." I say, and kiss her cheek.

I prop myself up on one elbow as she continues to play with my hair.

She seemed sad, and I didn't need to use my Empathy to notice it. "What's wrong, Scarlet?" Her name was pretty ironic considering she can't see...

She can't see...

That's probably why she's upset. I feel so bad for her. I "mmm" as she continues playing with my hair. Yeah, it isn't funny how weak I am when people play with my hair.

((Better keep trying lolol but not now this is serious >:O )

She said it was nothing. Sigh. She should know she can tell me anything. I was about to further question her but she kissed me... and continued playign with my hair.

Pathetic, right?

I smile into the kiss as I use my arm around her waist to pull her closer.

I noticed her mood became a bit happier, so I decided not to push the previous questios on her. She was still playing with my hair, which if I may add, I liked.

I pull away for a moment to catch my breath, and then bury my head into the crook of her neck. "I wish I could help you see... I wish I could make you feel a lot better." And I really did.

And did I know how to help her see again? Sure, I knew many ways to cure blindness. But at night, while she slept, I use to try it... and it never worked. I still don't know why.

I smiled and kissed her cheek. I noticed she was starting to fall asleep, leaning against me, and I laid my head on my bag, pulling her closer as we both drifted into a sleep. "Good-night, Scarlet."

It was early morning when I woke, the sun just coming up, the sky a mix of colors ranging from orange to blue. Yellow to red.

Scarlet was curled up against me, sleeping soundly. I didn't want to wake her but we needed to get moving... The supplies we have are very low, and the tent is caked with mud. So that won't be coming with us.

I decide to carry her for a bit, so she can get some more sleep. I lean up slowly, making sure she doesn't wake up. I walk outside the tent and realize we don't really have much to take.

I slip on my pack and put her staff in a sheeth on my back. I pick her up bridal style and walk outside.

I chuckled and then she wrapped an arm around me. "I know, but you looked so peaceful, so I didn't want to wake you." I smiled. "I've only been carrying you... say, an hour?"

I stopped for a moment and looked around. And yes, I've been carrying her for an hour. I focused my aura in my arms and it was like lifting a feather. "I also have your staff, so don't worry." I kissed her cheek and began walking again.

At first, I had no idea where we were headed, we just needed to get away. Runia isn't a world that welcomes magic wielders anymore.

And it took all I had to get Scarlet and I out of there. I know of a few places to go, a few refugee camps... but I'm tired of living like that. I had kept my magic a secret for years, well, unitl I met Scarlet.

"Um..." I said, not sure if we should stop... Well, I guess we've come far enough, her shadowlings will alert us if anyone is coming, and my arms sure could use a break. "Ok, fine." I said, letting her pull my along.

Funny, I hadn't noticed the waterfall. I need some sleep.
