Menolly's answer alone had been enough to make Wolfwood feel all warm and fuzzy. The hug on top of that made him feel a little bit dizzy and some color came to his cheeks. "Thanks Menolly. I like having you for a friend."

Menolly smiles vibrantly at Wolfwood, happy he liked having her as a friend. She so enjoyed being close to Wolfwood, he was fun and it felt a bit different being with Wolfwood then it did with her family, certainly not in a bad way at all.
It was a bit uncomfortable to think of walking and hugging at the same time, so she let go of her hug, content on their walking arrangement as it was. They were so close to where she had bumped into him, that ment they were very close to where she lived. Their time was coming to an end and that was a bit saddening. Speaking up, she says, "I think we are almost there, I do not want to say good bye. However, we will just see each other tomorrow." She hoped they would and did not see a reason why they would not see each other in the morning.

Wolfwood recognized the area too and turned his head to give Menolly a slightly sad smile. "Saying goodbye is never easy. But I promise we'll see each other again. In fact, how 'bout I meet you here, where I first bumped into you, tomorrow afternoon?" he suggested, sidestepping an exposed tree root and steering Menolly safely around the obstacle. "We can visit the lake again too, if you like.."

Menolly gave a small hop of excitement, "Thats a great idea!" It made saying good-bye a whole lot easier when she knew hello was just hours away. Pointing a little to the right and off into the distance, she tells him, "I live not too far from here, that way." She was not sure if she should walk the distance alone or not, no one would be awake yet, anyhow.

"Ah, ok. Think you can make it by yourself? Or would you rather I stick by you until you get home?" Wolfwood asked, catering to Menolly's clingy personality. He didn't want her to have to walk the rest of the way by herself if it was going to bother her not to be touching someone.

Menolly too a deep breath, hugging Wolfwood a moment then stepped away, "I'll be okay, my home is not too far away." She was trying to be brave and face her need to cling to other. Though her smile lost some of its brightness, as did her golden eyes, there was little other evidence that she was bothered.
It was one thing to connect to letting go when you know there is someone near for when you cannot stand it anymore. However, she remembered that her Father ruled that she had to sleep by herself. If she did not say good-bye soon, she did not think she would be capable of it.

Wolfwood saw some of the light fade from her expression but he suppressed his frown, making himself smile slightly instead. "Alright Menolly. Get home safely. And I'll see you this afternoon." He reached out and ruffled her bangs then smiled genuinely at her, making a shooing motion with his hands.

Menolly smiled and waved before turning and flying towards home. "Bye, I'll be at the spot afternoon." She sounded remarkably cheerful concidering there was none and would be no contact for her for a while. Seeing her home, she flew faster to see if anyone knew she was gone yet. Checking her parent's room, they were still sound asleep.
It was not long before she begain to wonder off again with no contact to keep her in one place. She didn't know it, but she was heading towards the HQ.
ooc: that last line was just to catch this rp up with what has happened since. Love the rp by the way! biggrin

(( Okiday. ^^ *does so* ))
Wolfwood had watched Menolly until she was out of sight then he made his way back home, falling into bed as soon as he got there. He hadn't even bothered to get undressed so, when he finally awoke, he was rather disheveled and unkempt. After having changed into a clean button-up shirt and a black pair of pants, Wolfwood checked himself over in the mirror. He did what he could with his hair then checked the time. He decided he had some time for lunch so he made himself a quick fruit salad then left his house, heading for the spot he and Menolly had arranged to meet at.

Menolly made her way to the meeting place as well, and once again she was in tears. Only, her crying was not solely because of loss of contact. The fight she witnessed that day between her family and between her father and Tristen had the teen traumatized. This was the first time in her young life that she could ever remember being afraid of her mother and father.

It seemed Wolfwood had arrived early so he made himself comfortable on an exposed tree root, leaning back against the trunk of the tree he assumed the root was from. He sighed lightly then crossed his arms and shut his eyes, waiting for Menolly to show.

Stepping into the meeting place, she managed to calm down just enough to actually see through her tears. Upon seeing the blurry outline of Wolfwood, she ran to him. He and her twin brother were the only two pae she felt safe around at this time and she was overjoyed to see him, even if all she saw at the moment was a blurry outline.

Wolfwood heard her coming and looked up, the grin fading from his face when he saw she had been--and still was--crying. He was instantly on his feet and closed the gap between them in about a step and a half, bringing his arms around the female angel and hugging her tightly. "What's wrong?"
