[Roeline & Wofth of Trine Weyr]
Roeline didn't like how Archimonde was talking about dragonriders... even if his invention worked, wouldn't Pern always need dragons? The thought of a world without dragons was... a truly sad one.
No machine could ever hope to replace us, Mine, Wofth replied, unconcerned by the Ancientcrafter or his words. Machines break, yes? And need fixing? They will still need us then.
True, Roeline replied with a nod, feeling a bit better. Besides, no 'dragonlight' could be anywhere near as awesome as you. heart
The young black's eyes whirled blue. No doubt there.
However, very suddenly things went from a simple demonstration to something so much worse. Suddenly firelizards were appearing everywhere, her own blue Saffy included as the flit flew frantically around her, rapidly chittering his panic and sending scenes and emotions that were too fast and blurred to make any sense of. "I can't get anything from Saffy either," Roeline answered her brother with a frown, trying to catch the blue and calm him down. "Wofth?"
The black shook his head in response. I'll see if any of the other firelizards might be making more sense.
What in the wolrd was going on?

[S'koi & Laith of Trine Weyr]
Something had gone terribly terribly wrong. S'koi normally calm and sweet firelizard, Ureshii, had appeared in a flurry with the rest the fair, bombarding him with panic and repeated feelings of wrong wrong wrong. Even without the green's warning, however, said 'wrongness' was readily apparent. Many were lost, like him, but some seem to have gotten much clearer answers from the flits. There was anger and shouting and fear-- the Weyrs? Did he hear someone say something about the Weyrs? That would make sense, given that was where all of the flits had come from.
We should go.
Agreed, S'koi replied, carefully slipping through the crowd to try to make his way back over to his dragon. He didn't know exactly what was happening yet, but he had the feeling that sticking around here would not help matters any.

[K'en & Stromath of Benden Weyr]
"Rajash, please, calm down," K'en urged, holding out his arm as a perch for her. "Show us again please? We couldn't understand before." The mental images came once more, slower than the blur they had been before but otherwise still quite fast. There was blood, and panic, and whers, and death, and handlers with knives, and-- "B'nen," he said sharply, looking to his identical twin beside him. "The Weyr is in trouble. We need to get out of here now."
Stromath, in the meantime, let out an enormous roar at the show of fighting and blood and death. A trap! They dared to oppose the riders and harm innocent people? To what end? The bronze was positively furious.

[Jordan]
The net had been impressive. Archimonde's speech had gone beyond the border of rude and insulting. Jordan wasn't a rider, but even he knew when someone was being inflammatory on purpose.
Yet. The lights worked. Well, he might as well start considering Riarna's offer and being the oldest apprentice Weaver ever. He sighed.
Then it was as if Thread had fallen early, because the firelizards and then the dragons went crazy and the crowd sounded like frightened and angry tunnel snakes.
"I have no idea what's going on," Jordan said, looking at everyone, his gaze eventually returning to the stage, where Archimonde looked exactly as he had minutes before. "But I think he does." He nodded at Archimonde and looked over to check Riarna's expression.

Something was wrong. Something was horribly irrevocably wrong and Hekate could feel in her bones as her hands dropped to her boots pulling two twin knifes from their hidden sheaths and tucking them reversed with the flat of the blade against her wrists to hide them from sight until they were needed. Red painted lips twitched into a scowling snarl as she cast her eyes about her ready for anything. Circling above her head and keening green Lady put out the call fanning her little wings furiously as her eyes shone with panic. Amid Hekate's hair silver Prince huddled letting out little terrified cheeps.
Something was wrong, but she'd be sharded if she let Devith or her companions come to harm. "Dizzian! Syn!" She hissed to them amber eyes seemed to glow with a light of their own amid the panic and confusion as she stood tall. This was what she was made for after all. Chaos was Hekate's natural habitat. "Stay close to me!" She warned them, not wanting them to get lost or hurt should a fight break out. Beside her Devith cut a striking and furious figure.
The silver had fanned his wings out, claws at the ready as he menaced anyone who came to close to his with a low threatening and snarling growl. Lashing his tail he clung tight to Hekate's side trying to beat back the crowd with his snarls and give the three weyrling and their charges some breathing room.
Siblings! Sisters! He bugled out to Gementh and Courath his voice a commanding roar to them and any clutchmate that might hear. What has befallen us!? To me! Some threat lurks! The Silver called out wings fanning as he snarled and bugled trying to make his voice heard above the roar of panic.

C'rci and Bolth It was little crimson Fasha that sounded the warning, C'rci having left the moody creature back at Malvren lest she try and claw someone at the gather. Imagine her surprise when the flit alighted on her shoulder schreeching bloody murder filling her and Bolth's mind with terror. MINE! The Weyr! The Weyr is Under attack! Bolth bugled rearing up and fanning his wings in panic his eyes alight orange and yellow as he pawed ready to leap into the sky. Only the sharp intake of breath caught his attention from his rider. " STAY ON THE GROUND BOLTH!" C'rci yelled, bellowed, screamed at her dragon trying to pull him away of any thought of taking to the air. "Those nets will kill us!" She called out to him, the action startling the blue so much he folded his wings turning his head to stare dumbfounded at his rider. He'd seen C'rci angry, seen her furious and in his entire time of knowing her he had never heard her yell. In fact the girl rarely even at her highest fury got above a stern level tone The nets? Bolth asked somewhat tentatively his voice full of fear as he tried to receded into himself, to hide, to run, he could not lose C'rci. He would not. "Yes the nets. We have to wait." C'rci soothed him gently though she ground out the last sentence in frustration.

Ancientcrafter/candidate Niyx Niyx was horrified, her jaw agape, eyes wide at what this man had done. Her craft, her beloved craft, he would soil it's name with blood and pain. No! No! She wasn't going to let that happen! Not as long as she lived! Casting her eyes to the sky to the still shining net she turned with a snarl and pointed to Archmonde! "The Net! We have to stop the machine! The Dragons can't take off!" She called out amid the panic trying to lend her logic to the situation as she attempted to push through the crowds. The machine had to be stopped! Maybe she wasn't a rider, but she was still an Ancientcrafter and she'd be thrice betweened if she let this bloodshed stand!

[B'nen and Gneisth of Benden]
"We have to get to our dragons first," B'nen said grimly as Gneisth relayed the images from K'en's fire lizard. A bronze and a large brown needed room to take off, and they weren't the only ones wanting to leave in a hurry. "Can Rajash get any more specific? There's no guarantee the Weyrbowl's safe to land in..."

-Trine- Tag Z’iv and Toulonth/S’kor and Scarath S’kor barely had time to spot a familiar blackrider coming toward him. He did, however, have plenty of time to note the wineskin in one hand. What he wasn’t expecting was Z’iv’s first words. He frowned showing his displeasure at being called ‘sweetheart’.
“If you are drunk enough Z’iv to confuse me with one of your bedmates, then I suggest you take yourself and your dragon back home before the demonstration begins.” S’kor’s cold grey eyes turned to meet his fellow rider; his voice just short of being an order. “We don’t need a sharding idiot from Trine to cause trouble.”
Scarath rumbled softly, half laughing half to sooth his rider’s irritation. He might only have been teasing Mine. The dragon turned his head to look up at Toulonth. Greetings to you and Yours Toulonth. We are very well, but Mine wishes they would get on with the demonstration instead of celebration.
The chiming of a bell pulled his attention back to the stage. The Ancientcrafter’s attitude deepened his frown and his eyes darken with anger. S’kor was actually surprised that the machine did work. It did stop what the flit dropped, but that wasn’t real Thread, and it didn’t cover a large area. To protect all the vital land masses they would need way too many of these. S’kor was ready to dismiss the machine as useless.
Something was wrong. Flits all over were acting frantic. A deep roar that he recognized instantly sounded over the noise of the crowd. S’kor’s head whipped toward his dragon as he jumped to his feet.
The bronze had enjoyed the lights shining. A bit fascinating really. Until several flits started swirling the air around him. Scarath trumpeted in anger. Mine! The Weyrs fall under attack!

Optheli and Dynith Optheli was just bending to look at some items when a soft chiming caught her attention. Curiously she looked around. It took her a moment to realize the crowd growing quieter, and turned to view the stage. So that was him? She could sense Dynith growing more and more anxious as the man talked. He sure talks big doesn’t he? She tried to inject humor, but felt it fall short. How could this man be saying this?
She thought, had hoped, he might actually be trying to help Pern. If this had been a viable method to help protect vital areas there stood reason to use it. But his words gave lie to his good intentions. Optheli stood frozen as panicked flits buzzed back and forth.
The dark green groaned. It wasn’t right! Something wasn’t right here! She tossed her head as her eyes whirled anxiously. Mine! OptheliMine! She called piteously to her rider. Dynith’s head bobbed as she sensed Hers coming until she saw the girl. Her nose was immediately shoved to her rider’s chest. Mine I cannot understand them! They are frantic about something.

Malvren Wykla and Kameth The young teen was repulsed by the man. For a moment she regretted even coming. His little ‘speech’ was appalling to say the least. Even from the back, Wykla could see some riders getting angry. Her lips twitched. At least here they were united.
Boreal cheeped with worry in her ear. Wykla petted the bronze to sooth him so she could hear. Soon above her though, her flight of flits were making a lot of noise. She frowned up at them. What was it all about? It didn’t sound like their Thread call.
Kameth shifted slightly as he caught the flit anxiety. It was too vague for him to say for certain what exactly it was. He didn’t want to move too much as his rider was still standing on his shoulders. Can you see anything Mine? He thought perhaps some riders started fighting.

Benden F’law and Zurith Even though he was of Benden, F’law was skeptical that the man could even get some ancient technology working. He stared warily at the beams of lights. Was that all they did? Or was there something more here? He glanced back at his dark blue. Why does he sound so smug? He wasn’t liking the way this was going; nor the angry attitude that was filling the area. It behooved him to move back by his dragon.
Onyso tightened his black tail around F’law’s neck. Cheeping almost constantly as he relayed his message. F’law went white. Benden Weyr was under attack from her whers. How could they? Whers were supposed to protect. They couldn’t fly against Thread like the dragons could. The bluerider was stunned. It didn’t make sense.
Zurith trumpeted in anguish. The Weyr! The Weyr!

Benden Candidate Emkin Reclusive, Emkin had had to talk herself into coming. On one hand she wanted to see the new machine, on the other she most definitely wanted to stay home. The fact is was potentially an important moment in Pern history convinced her to go. Emkin had managed to catch a ride the day of the demonstration with the bluerider F’law. She had wandered aimlessly looking at wares without really seeing them. She wasn’t here to shop, and hadn’t brought any marks with her.
The attitude of the ancientcrafter hadn’t really surprised her. He had always been arrogant she thought. But this was just asking a rider to stick a knife in him. She shook her head but said nothing. After he gloated, he got on with the show. Emkin was impressed that he actually got it working, but she didn’t like the angry color of the lights.
Her gold, Vervoras, came to land on her shoulder; chittering angrily to convey her message. Emkin blinked as she tried to sooth the flit. “Something’s wrong at the Weyr? Is it Thread?” If Thread was falling unexpectedly, the riders would be called back. Candidates would be needed to fill firestone sacks. A sharp peck from the gold muzzle got her attention.
“No? Then what is it?” Emkin gasped and covered her mouth as images of wher handlers marching through the halls, and wher claws covered in blood filled her mind. “They would stoop so low?! How can they possibly protect Pern?” She looked back up to the man who’d had a hand in this and hated him.

F'nell and Brown Krith
Drift and Tide, F'nell's two firelizards, appeared, the crimson staying near F'nell, and the blue going to Krith. "I don't," the feelings that Drift was sending him were confusing, but when the dragon awoke, snorting at the firelizard, things were made clearer.
Something is wrong at home. And there it was. The catch. But what it meant for them here, well, he wasn't sure. The wher handlers are attacking.
Oh, this was bad. He looked around for his wingleader, and once he spotted him, began to make his way over to him. Should I come to you?
Not yet. I don't know what this net will do to you.
Alright.Stay safe, mine.

Fallen
This thread is open until 11:59pm PST tonight then it will be locked
A golden flit appeared before Archimonde then, oddly calm in the growing storm of panic. The nod the Ancientcrafter gave was telling. Whatever was going on he knew. The Dragonlights shifted then, forming a protective cage around him as he chimed the bell once more. “Ah, you may have noticed… something is afoot. How very astute Dragonriders. The lot of you should be ashamed. As I speak, your Weyrs fall to more capable hands. The Revolution has come and you have turned your backs to your enemies you fools! This day, this very moment, shows how incredibly unfit you are to rule this world. Your strength is nothing – you walk into traps, you fight amongst yourselves, all too eager to embrace destruction, and for what? For what? You leech off the world, languish for decades and call yourselves heroes. You trust your youth to know what’s best and let lust guide your decisions! It’s appalling!”
The man paced from one side of his cage to the other, the air of victory about him. “The Wherhandlers have their move, fools, and you cannot sto-”
He was cut off, however, as a green rider exploded into the air above the gathering, dripping ichor from wounds all along her sides and her rider was clutched in her forelimbs. One arm was mangled, his shirt soaked through. Benden is lost! Benden is lost! Her shrill cries were spoken to all those present, her growls pained and confused.
The rider groaned as they touched down, his gaze briefly meeting Archimonde’s and he tensed, “YOU! You-aughah” His outburst became a pained burbling wheeze and his dragon growled at the Ancientcrafter, the flash of teeth stained with the blood of whers.
W’lin recognized the colours of his Weyr before the rider had even set down and, running, drew alongside the dying rider. “What? What happened?”
The rider coughed up more blood and shook his head, “We are betrayed. That b*****d Masterhandler Keller has corrupted the Handlers… marches through our halls as if he owns the place.” He coughed again, curling in his pain and spoke once more, “He uses the tunnels… small places dragons can’t reach… kills those who won’t join… cornered me.” He’d been reached to grab the Weyrleader’s hands but died as he did so.
The Green screamed, her eyes going white and she disappeared Between with her rider.
The Revolution had come and Masterhandler Keller was their head.
The machines spluttered and failed just moments after the Green died, and Archimonde was left standing on the stage, facing a sea of angry riders. He closed his eyes and smiled, ready to embrace his fate.
