Watching the battle, It seemed like it was going badly for spike and spike. But poke knew he'd be able to take that. It seemed like a cruel thing but in all honesty it wasn't. She had trained her pokemon to hang in there untill their last shred of strength was used. And she knew they were both prepared to do that
But enough daydreaming, for she saw a idea springing from kanes attack...
"Spike, go wild, go beserk, RUN LIKE YOU MEAN IT!" she shouted out to the battle field. Sure it wasn't a direct attack but kane was still biting spikes ankle soo...
Where was his enermy? who was the bad guy? what was he supposed to do!! His mind felt like it was clouded over, not like when he was busy playing.
He could dimply hear someone say "go wild, run like you mean it" what? run? why?? He didn't understand but began to run. He rolled on the ground and jumped back off, his teeth shown in a snarl of confusion. He ran straight towards a wall and slamed himself against it, the strugture almost collapsing before running towards the middle again and not having a clue were his enermy was...

"Kane!" She watched as her Pokemon was dragged slightly along the arena and winced when it seemed he's hit his head once or twice on the floor, there really wasn't much they could do while Spike was like this so she just had to wait until he calmed down a little.
Thing was not what Kane thought though, he wasn't about to sit around while this mutt decided to abuse his person, nope, not at all! Getting a foothold on his calf the Umbreon dug his claws into flesh, pulling himself up until his body bent right and he hauled himself on top of the Arcanine's back, and decided from nowhere to use Bite again, this time on his neck.
"GAH KANE NO!!!" What the hell? How on earth would she ever control this Pokemon? Thinking around it she realised that she would have to wait for Spike to be ok, because if she ran in there it was all over...'Just don't break the rules Kane...pleaaaase!!'
"I'm sorry Poke.."

Poke could see saiya was worried. Not only worried for kane but for spike too. And the next attack looked like it was attempting to disable spike permanenty.
She looked accross the gym to her opponent and smilied. "it's ok, don't worry about it". She wanted saiya to keep her cool, to relax and to use her brain in order to come up with more ways to battle. Though she was a gym leader, and she shouldn't be telling saiya what to do.
However she rebuked herself for feeling like a know-it-all. And quickly focused on the fact that kane looked at spike as if he was some prey. "Spike, you know what to do..."
As spikes brane began to de-cloud, he felt the pain on his ankle deminish and felt something crawl along his back and towards his neck, and then felt the opponent clamp it's jaws around his neck.
He didn't seem to be very concerned about this however. For one thing he was faily large, and while It did hurt (ALOT!) he knew his vital parts would be fine, as his neck was quite thick (he was alot bigger then kane after all), and the amount of fur on his back would make it even harder to find a good place to bite.
He looked towards the wall and suddenly charged at it, His speed Impressive. Then once he neared the wall he jumped and aimed his back towards it in a reversed take down attack, The wall smashing to bits form the force of the attack, and allowed himself to fall straight onto his back. He would of taken damage from that, but hopefully his opponent would have too.
"your supposed to bite your prey UNDER the neck" poke said while scratching her head absent mindly. She had watched a fair few nature documentries after all...

Pain lanced through his whole body and Kane was sure that he might take a while to be able to move, so he waited for his limbs to work again when he heard Poke speak, and sneered. "Keh I wasn't trying to kill the idiot..." He grinned blood in his teeth and it made him look a little crazy, not that he wasn't already. His muscle jolted and twitched, the Umbreon tested a paw and with movement he clambered to his feet easily and jumped back, waiting for Spike.
"I must say that was a nice move, too bad that you couldn't clear your head fast enough, if it wasn't for me you'd be slamming yourself and me around still!"
Neko sighed, at least now she knew what he had been doing but still, she had lost control so many times. "Ok Kane you do as you are told or am taking you out of this fight!" She looked at him stearnly and he glared, but didn't seem to object.
Looking back at poke she smiled "Thanks, I'm sorry I was really worried..I just lose focus when I'm like that." Really she hadn't wanted anyone to be hurt like that.

"keh?" poke raised an eye wondering why that sounded so familiar ("shot"), and wondered why kane would look good with red eyes ("shot again")
"And don't worry about it saiya" poke responded. "Battles can become very harsh, but one of the most imporant things you can do is to remain calm, even in the most tense situations" she sweatdroped and nervously laughed.
spike sat up on the ground and shook hus fur out, some of the wood chips falling out. His muscles and limbs were sore from all the thrashing and such. he let himself resh for a bit, while starting back at the psychotic looking kane. "Those were some interesting moves too, but it's gonna take more then that to bring me down" he then grinned. "your move"

"I'm usually fine, I just worry because of last time...that's all" Nodding to herself she thought of what attack they would make next now that the drama was over, she didn't want to use up too many defence spots and an offence put her off because of Spike's size...she wanted to wait until he was more open for a head on attack. Nothing else for it, "Kane use Faint Attack!"
The Umbreon smirked at his opponent again, enjoying this battle so much, he never let anything pass his eyes and only showed hostility but he was having fun, enjoying every second of this with every bone in his body.
Glowing a sort of purple color the Umbreon built up his Dark attack, one of his favorites if he must say so himself. Once it was ready he launched forwards, except he almost dissapeard from the eye, and a second later he was there beside the Arcanine and ready to ram into him with his attack. "Boo!"

"ahh, I see" Poke wasn't to sure about the major details of saiyas last battle, but she was hoping she could make this battle just as hard and interesting, if not entertaining. "dodge and retaliate with extreme speed!". One of the best attacks she though spike knew, if not his flamethrower.
If kane thought that was a fast attack, then he would be amazed by this. He raised his back legs and, as kane drew nearer spike was the one to disapear this time. This still didn't prevent him getting injured by kanes attack, but he was able to keep away from the worst. He re-apeared again behind and then charged at kane with the same speed he had before.

Kane skidded on the floor as Spike disappeared from view, in what had seemed like an impossible speed. Pushing hard on his paws to stop his momentum, the Umbreon slowed to a stop and lifted his head to look around. Before he knew what had happened there was a rush of wind and he was slammed hard from something.
His small fox-like form flew through the air and landed hard on the ground just a few feet away, the impact sending his body into an almost strange shaking fit. 'What the hell?..' How on earth was anyone to keep up with speed that fast? Working his way back onto his paws again for the second time in two seconds, he growled low.
Neko hadn't seen a thing until her Pokemon was flown across the room and Spike had shown up out of thin air. What an attack! In some ways it thrilled her to the core, and in others it sent warning alarms off in her mind. If that amount of damage could be done from one attack, then she had to be careful now. "Hff...now what?" She mumbled to herself, thinking about the next move.
"Alright Kane, use another Confuse Ray, but stay away from him!" She knew it was a long shot really, and could do more damage since last time, but hopefully if they stayed out of his way long enough, he'd tire...and then...
The Black and Gold Pokemon faced his opponent once more, and his eyes glowed an eerie blue. "This better work"

Again, spikes brain fadded into oblivion as the confuse ray came into effect. The most spike could do now was to run around and try regain some order into his brain. Though this didn't happen untill spike had smashed into another wall, giving himself a large headache.
"right..." poke was cratching her head and, considering he was still quite confused decided to wait a bit untill it wore off.

Sticking to the Walls Kane waited out as Spike seemed to injure himself on walls and other things, he almost wanted to smirk. Almost. However the last experiance and his recent back pain told him that any taunting now would come back at him tenfold. So he stalked around the Arcanine slowly, watching, waiting for any openings.
Neko also waited, he would snap out of it soon and once the Fire Pokemon tried to get his barings she would then order an attack. Thoguh if things kept on, Kane would be out of the game, he looked horrible from the last attack. She considered a healing one but, somehow she didn't want to use it.

"after waiting for a few minutes, it appeared spike may have got a hold on himself, so now it was time to retaliate. Though, which move?
she stampted the floor, looking at it with a hint of concern on her face, but it soon went away. It wasn't like it couldn't be repaired.
"ok spike use a flamethrower on kane..."
A few shakes of his massive head, and he was able to shake of the worst of his confusion. He saw cane backed up against a wall and, kept a good watch on him. He paused while aiming, and then his jaw opened to reveal a large glowing ball of flame which shot out in a jet, right at kane

'Crap', Neko swore to herself silently as a fast plan formed in her mind, hoping that it would work as she hoped. "Kane, use Quick Attack now! Move with the walls and slam into Spike!" It wasn't like she really thought that it would hit, but anything was better than standing there and being burnt, right?
The Umbreon understood completely and bent as if in slow motion, his muscles pulling and tensing together, ready for the launch. As soon as the Flamethrower got close enough Kane flew to his left, then to his right as though he was a arcade ball in one of those machines that you flick the little iron ball around in. Again he moved to the left and then again to the right, before shooting forwards in a straight line at the large Arcanine.

"use another extreme speed attack!" Poke wondered if this was one of those times where she felt she was repeating herself...yeah, it was. But hey if it works, it works...
The pause between the last attack and the next one was what allowed kanes attack to be susessful, as well as spikes movements becomign more slower due to his exsaustion. He was hit square in the ribs, but this wouldn't bring him down. Not yet it would!
He msutered up his energy to jump over his opponent in pure speed, before charging at him from behind.

All Kane saw was the large male Arcanine jump, from being in his view, to dissapearing over him. After that he was thrown a couple of feet accross the area, slamming hard onto the ground. The Umbreon bounced a few times, and rolled. He came to a stop some way from Spike, and didn't move at all.
'Oh no!' Neko felt her legs tense, wanting to move over to his side and check to see if her companion was alright. However if she did, and he was ok to keep going, they would lose. "Kane, Kane are you ok?" She shouted.
It didn't seem as though he may get up, the raven haired trainer made a choice, and ran to him. "It's ok, Extreme speed is powerful...we'll...we'll work on a defence..." She pulled out a pokeball and recalled him, it was black with a silver upside down cresent moon on it. She didn't use it, so no one really saw the ball.
"Poke, I guess you win this one, I tried, but we still have a lot of training. Kane is strong, but we haven't got a union just yet. Thank you for battling with me!" Neko smiled, hoping that she hadn't let her friend down.

and with that, the battle was complety over. Spike stood there, tired but waiting for kane to get up, except he didn't..
though it seemed like saiya was defeated, it wasn't like she had complety "lost the battle". Her pidgey had defeated fish after all...
"well I only won one of the battles..." poke started, and walked over to where saiya was. "and you did meet the requirements, as you used plenty of techniques while trying your hardest, sooo"
she fiddled around in her pocket and produced a small badge with a cd-like device and handed it to her. "here is your badge..though you are welcome to come back and fight us again"
