The dealer laughed as the young lad laid out two chips. He laughed and picked up his own dice and he flicked them across the table. A smile forming on his face. The gambling had gotten intense.

"Hahaha there it is chap! That's the tenacity I see! See the Lady doth provide. Winner to the seventeen!"

He smiled as the excitement became apparent on his ... friend's face. It was nice to bring this man such joy, over such a menial task. He grinned and put eight chips onto the board. He smiled as he placed them onto the table, winking at the dealer. He knew all to well the risk is what made this fun.

He could not deny the thrill the joy the excitement. It was then he had an epiphany; maybe this is why he attacked Senri, pushed through the pain to stalemate with Takeo, and tempt fate by taunting Sessouresu. It was the risk, the thrill, the bet. It fueled him; kept him alive and roarin' to go. He picked up his dice and flicked them to the table not thinking about the bet at hand.

The dealer smiled as the young lad pushed eight chips onto the table. For a moment he watched the boy. There was a moment where he unfocused, his eyes seemed, lost? Perhaps thinking to hard, his suspicions were confirmed when he rolled the dice without his "ritual."

"Troubles chap?"

He picked his own dice up with a watchful gaze, and threw them watching the boy studiously.

The Stranger blinked and looked up the man realizing he had lost and the dealer hadn't announced it. Obviously more concerned with him than the game, curious?

"Even break house takes? I apologize gent, I was.. I came to a realization. A epiphany if you will on life."

As he moved his entire pouch of chips, thirty in total. He had hit a thought, a personal revelation that bothered him, and the game no longer enthused him. He laced his chakra on the dice in the adequate and necessary places to fix the roll in his favor.

As they tumbled to table; 3, 3, 4, 4, and 4, he smiled. However this one was bland and devoid of his usual mirth he had shown so far. He waited patiently for the dealer.

The dealer looked at the boy with a slight frown, but picked up his dice.

"If ever you need a friendly ear you know where to find me."

He rolled the dice, however he was more preoccupied with the genin rather than the game. He finally looked down to realize his dice had stopped. 4, 3, 3, 2 and 3. A smooth fifteen, but not even remotely close to eighteen in terms of the game. He smiled and handed the boy his chips.

"Winner to the eighteen. Remember what I said, this exam is looking like a long one."

The Stranger smiled, the dealer's empathy and truly took some solace in the fact that this dealer actually seemed to care about him. He counted his chips forty-five. With that count in mind he did something he rarely did ever. He extended his hand, the dealer took and he shook it and grinned from ear to ear.

"Thank you my good sir, perhaps if I have more time to kill next time, I will be granted leave to come back here. I do so enjoy the dance of the dice."

He turned heading to the counter, before he did he slipped five chips up under his sleeve. He went to the counter and leaned looking at the curiously attractive and seemingly dangerous gentlemen on the other side of the prize exchange. He was too.... optimistic, too jubilant.

He was almost neurotic, he saw... himself. When he played cat, which he most often did he had that look. However this man to himself, seemed more the puppet master. Despite his abilities, he was tall, thin, dextrous and extremely meticulous.

"Good day to you, perusing what you have available... I believe I would like to acquire some information. Actually information on one of the remaining quarters, I believe it is forty tokens?"

His grin was lopsided as he place his chin in his palm. There was a puckish twinkle in his eyes.

"Veeeery well" The man said and with a quick flick of the wrist Haruki's coins were in the mans hands, and he was quickly sorting through them, counting out the tokens before handing the remains back to the Boy. "Now, which quarter will you get?" He asked before pulling out a four sided Die and tossing it down. "Aright, here we go" He said happily before Pulling out a piece of paper and a pen a quickly jotting something down on it before folding the paper and placing it on the glass counter top in front of him. "And as for you; You have spent enough tokens for now. Feel free to keep playing, but I won't be giving you anything more; dem's the unwritten rules"

The Stranger looked at the man curiously, the grin never off of his face. For a moment he smiled wider, it may have appeared, eerie. Like watching the Cheshire cat smile, wider. He took the paper closing his hand carefully around and the he spoke up to the man behind the counter.

"Thank you kind sir, it certainly has been an experience. You intrigue me."

He did not know why, but he got the feeling that was not the last the would see of him. The Stranger returned to his chair in the corner and unfolded the piece of paper looking over it's contents. "Oy! Karasu wake up, this could be important."
As the two read over the information the boy's face lit up darkly. "A battle huh? Interesting... decisions, decisions. Well Karasu I find myself at odds.

There is no one I wish to truly wish to fight alongside presently...
However....
Sesouresu... has shown US, our mutual weakness. Perhaps we may employ a different method... Mayhaps not. Only time will tell."

Sitting in the corner brooding in a homicidal fashion. He sat and grinned maliciously, almost too wide. His eyes were a gleam in a fanatical gaze, associated with religious zealots. Who knows maybe the Stranger was a messenger of a deity. A very dark, deranged and sadistically twisted deity. He sat their in the corner a set his case on his lap.

Exerting minimal chakra into the case he began to search the box thoroughly for any nooks and crannies, cubbyholes or compartments. Anything that would indicate a clue as to what his prize was. Haruki took a chip from his right sleeve and began to flip it in his left hand across his knuckles, while the Stranger searched and observed the individual pieces with his right, under intense scrutiny. As his focus was shifted unto the contraption of any reasonable idea in front of him he was constantly aware of his surroundings.

Takeo cursed and pulled the chips he had just won from his pocket again. Placing them down on the table he decided it was time for some desperate measures. He grabbed some dice again and focused his chakra into them, strangely he could feel a reaction in them. Very small reactions and he could feel his new earth element chakra react to them. The dice must be made of a certain type of mineral his chakra reacted to. He flicked his dice out, attempting to pull on their earth inside them, similar to the way he pulled on the earth when using his terra shield jutsu. The dice scrambled around before settling on 3, 2, 4, 1, 3. Takeo quickly calculated that number and pulled on the earth inside the dice, trying to recreate the feeling he had when he made his shield. Hopefully this worked. The 1 tipped over in a sort of last effort roll, becoming a 3 instead of a 1. A 15? That wasn't too bad. And not super suspicious.

The dealer smiled at the remaining boy now at the Black Jack table. He was not certain if his friend would come back or not because he had already reached the ceiling of his prizes. But who knew he often surprised him.

The boy placed two chips on the table, obviously frustrated with his loss. When he rolled his dice something peculiar happened. Or fortuitous, depending on your angle. At the last instant when his dice seemed to stop, the "one" die tipped and formed a three. Instead of raising alarm in the boy his raised eyebrow turned into a blossoming, and praising smile.

"Well young master, perhaps you luck is just beginning wouldn't you say?"

Deftly, grabbing his dice, he tossed them across the table. Skipping his ritual that he performed for the other patron's sake. His count came to a rest at; 3, 3, 4, 3 and 1. He smiled and announced,

"Winner to the fifteen, here are you chips. Again young master?"

Breathing out a sigh of relief that he hadn't lost, Takeo pocketed his winnings. He figured that trick shouldn't be used too often. At least, not until he picked up the knack for doing it without being obvious. He picked up the dice again.
"Alright. I'll give this another go. Maybe the Lady has given me some grace now."
With a flick of his wrist he sent the dice a rollin......

The dealer smiled at the boy's hesitance. He looked up to him as he rolled his twelve. Scooping up his personal pyramids on numerical fate, he gave a quick nonchalant roll.

"Winner house, perhaps another go young master?"

"Or not." The boy said, as the dealer rolled a matching number. He sighed and mentally gave up. He wasn't against cheating, he just didn't want to be caught and thrown out. And at this point, he wasn't feeling confident enough to try to cheat again. The Lady watching over these tables obviously had a wonderful sense of humor watching him struggle.
"Perhaps I must have a touch of bad luck on my side, eh?"He pulled his other chips from his pocket again and sent his dice across the table again, with some added 'omph' in his flick for good measure.

The dealer smirked, the hopeless and desperate often found the best methods and solutions their troubles when in need. He grabbed his dice and actually hoped to roll low as to not discourage the poor lad entirely.

"There you see, not all is lost! Winner to the thirteen."

Takeo gave a sigh in relief. This was getting to be hazardous to his health. Was this how gambling worked? No wonder people became hooked. Feeling a tad bit better, he decided to go for it once again. If he won this one, maybe it was time to go big.
"Alright then! Obviously someone doesn't want me to quit just yet! Two chips in please!"
He threw his dice, letting them slide off of his fingers with ease, being sure to copy his earlier motion of giving each a little extra force just to be safe.
