LEE.N.KParrot slyly turned away and smiled, snickering. "Ok, hot shot," He turned back to look at the boy, narrowing his eyes with pleasure. He was amused by Ryu, and very entertained by his face expressions and his words. "Of course I'd run, but what can I do? I'm just fluff!" He shrugged his shoulders (what shoulders?) and sighed, grinning all the while.

LEE.N.K"No need to be so defensive, Ryu~ It's okay if you want to be my master's knight in shining armor," He nudged him, still grinning like the idiot he was.

LEE.N.KMEANWHILE...

LEE.N.KLee's running came to a halt, repeating Ryu's words in her head, "And Lee... be careful..." He had responded with a thumbs up as well, which made her extremely happy, and even slightly giddy. Of course, it wasn't for 'obvious' reasons. "Yeah! I made a new friend who believes in me!" The girl was hopeless when it came to romance- she often missed her chances this way. Lee marked everyone as a friend, or like-a-brother, or a really, REALLY good ally. It never occurred to her that there were more labels than that, or that there was anything 'more than friends'. But whatever. She was happy the way she was. Knowing the ropes of love was a dangerous thing, and painfully painful. The girl might be better off not knowing of such a dreadful thing. "Where would I be...?"

LEE.N.K"Above you," A voice said, a very familiar voice. It was her own, but serious.

LEE.N.K"What?!" Lee looked up, ambushed by the cube copy.

Above the labyrinth, a young man can be seen floating tactlessly around the dangerous dungeon with a look of confusion. "I'm sure this is the place. Those inconspicuous men from the village told me to go here." sighing out of frustration, he then landed down and took a piece of paper from his pocket. " Good thing they also gave me this map for only 3000 jewels". Looking at the poorly drawn map, he looked for any kind of landmark that could be seen but even without the fog it was already difficult to make out anything from it and the fog just made it worst.

"Darn it, C'mon give me a break!", but then he had an idea. Taking out his "Fragarach", he used it to make a gust of wind enough to clear out the fog, but instead it backfired and blew the map away, "Hey get back here I need to get to the school office to submit my forms". Gaining momentum, he charged off and flew a high enough distance but before he could reach the sky suddenly a metal pan dropped down on him with maximum velocity.

"Ouch!" After a minute, he regained consciousness and after struggling for seconds, he succeeded in regaining energy to stand up. "Geez, If you're gonna kill me at least kill me with some dignity" imposing it to the fates. "Well walking's fun but I gotta go.." but then, as he tried to float he noticed that he couldn't. "Well I guess I'm walking", but somewhere in the shadows, gleaming red eyes were directed towards him.

Maxus Eros Brightstar


Maxus smacked his forehead and growled to himself. "Ach der iros notie, me and my big mouth. I really need to think before I speak." He folded his wings and dived low, swooping down to land gently in front of Lucian. He put his fist to his chest in the traditional Guardian salute and knelt in front of Lucian, bowing his head. When he spoke, the level of emotion in his words conveyed that he truly meant what he was saying. "Mr. Steele, I apologize. You are absolutely correct. My full attention should be devoted to the education of the students here at the Academy, and for as long as I am here, all other concerns are secondary. I also acted in a manner more befitting a child than a creature of my extended age. I did not mean to treat you or make it seem as though I thought you were less than I am. I hold all beings equal with myself, and ask that you please forgive me."

Ryu's eyes widened as he saw the sugar cube take shape and overwhelm Lee. "Dam," Ryu thought as his next instinct was to help her. However, he had to restrain himself seeing as he knew this was a trial she had to do on her own. Ryu's teeth tensed as he simple stood there watching with Parrot in his possession. As the battle ensued, Ryu felt himself get a little nervous seeing as he was in a dilema. He wanted Lee to succeed, but he also didn't want her to get hurt. It was a conflict between his two interests.

Suddenly, Lee got her fighting spirit back and she managed to get a more level fighting ground. "C'mon Lee, you can do it," Ryu said under his breath. A sweat drop began streaming down Ryu's temple as he hoped for the most favorable outcome. The sugar cube in his pocket began shaking more and more as Ryu began to tense. It was almost as if it could sense that he was losing his composure.

Takao had fallen asleep, still having her hand over the little lump in her chest where the shadow was placed. She sat up, rubbed her eyes, and looked around. Being a demon, the sun was never really kind to her. Takao squinted her eyes. Some new teachers were around and she stared. Takao sighed and stood up. That new teacher was someone unfamiliar to her. If he was a new teacher. . . that meant someone had to be replaced. Takao brought her arms over her head to stretch and held the little ball in her hand. She suspected that the funny looking man with the wings was the new War and Strategy teacher. She pursed her lips, still looking at the group of teachers. She did not look forward to that class anymore. . . The previous teacher was much better looking. Takao chuckled at the thought before turning around on top of the hedge. She searched for the exit and ran towards it. I have wasted enough time here. . .

Ryu noticed that both Lee's and her clone's eyes had changed colour. He didn't know what it meant, but it clearly had to do something with the battle. Ryu felt a little helpless seeing as here his friend was in the battle for her life and his morals wouldn't allow him to do anything aside from watch. It was a chilling thought, knowing that even with all the power he had now, he could do nothing if this was his friend's destined battle. "You can do this, master!" Parrot shouted from his satchel below. It was only for a moment, but hearing Parrot's confidence, re-vitalized Ryu's spirit as he too began to cheer. Life was restored to his faith as he knew he had to do all he could so Lee could win. "C'mon Lee! Take her out! Ryu cheered with his hands cupped over his mouth, "Get up and fight this thing hard!"

Ryu's eyes percieved the last clash as if their swordplay was similar to his own battle. Two swordswomen were duking it out, head to head as neither wished to give an inch. The warrior spirit in Ryu knew that this match wasn't going to come out to points as both were perfect rivals for each other. Ryu's own blood began to boil as he grew anxious as he wished to fight as hard as these two were. The sugar cube in Ryu's pocket began to settle down as Ryu had regained his compsure.

Maxus Eros Brightstar


Maxus paused in his headlong dash as a thought came to him, and suddenly he placed where he had sensed those alien feelings before. He swore loudly and raced forward, finally catching up with Lucian. "Mr. Steele! That entity! I know what it is!" He paused for a moment to catch his breath. "We Guardians call it a nixos rakshee, which roughly translated means 'that which should not be'. Through a series of events that would take me too long to explain, a rip can form in the fabric of reality. This rip warps into what Guardians call a 'bubble universe'. It is essentially a smaller universe outside our own. However, the energies within these universes are highly unstable, and the bubble quickly collapses. But not before a nixos rakshee is formed. Mr. Steele, these creatures are EXTREMELY dangerous. They are powerful enough to kill Guardians. That should give you a measure of their strength. They are highly resistant to magic, and to Guardian powers as well. The only really effective way we know of to fight them are these." He handed Lucian a small bluish-green crystal. He tapped the center of it and it telescoped out into a four foot spear with a heavy triangular head. "These crystals come from within the bubble universes, and are really the only thing that can hurt the nixos rakshee." He tapped Lucian's crystal again and it reformed into a wand. "If you channel your magic through this, it should be able to hurt the creature. "
He looked at Lucian levelly for a moment. "If you don't believe that I truly want to be here at the school, let me just say this. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I feel that there is no greater honor than being entrusted with the duty of instructing the generations that follow me. And even though I may not know any of the students yet, I will gladly risk my life to fight this beast, as long as they remain safe. Our most precious things are the youngsters of every species, and I will protect and guide them as best as I can." He turned and slowly stalked forwards, using his powers and senses to hone in on where the monster was.

Kᴜᴢᴀᴋɪ . . .Heat rushed up to meet his cheeks, and Kuzaki looked away from the girl. She had pulled away rather suddenly, and he found himself rather bothered by it. It shouldn't have mattered to him anyways. Perhaps his lack of experience comforting females led him to find the situation uncomfortable. Looking up at Kojima as she stood, he couldn't help but inquire about how a school maze couldn't have been that dangerous. "It's an educational institution...he wouldn't take us here on the first day if it was that dangerous. Perhaps if we were more into the year. Then we would have learned enough to actually fight off whatever may be here." His sentence was interrupted though, by his friend's underlying knack for moving a little too much.

Following her though the maze, he payed attention to how she grasped his hand. Though, she couldn't possibly know how to get out of the maze. That is, unless she memorized the turns of the maze. But that would mean they were backtracking back to where the rest of the students were. It didn't appear that way. He pulled at his hand, trying to have her let go. "How will you find your way out of here? This maze is huge!" He sighed. "Let's just hope the school has a good doctor."
